He lay in a tree, eyes closed though he was not asleep. He never slept. He listened to the sounds of the forest, birds chirping merrily, the wind whispering softly through the trees. It soothed his soul, no matter how tormented that soul may be. 'Demon. Fiend. Monster... Leech... Vampire.' He opened his eyes, narrowing them ever so slightly, claws digging into the bark of the thick tree branch he lay on. He hated it. 'Vampire.' It came with perks, but he would kill to be normal... 'Ha,' he thought to himself. 'You think that as if you have never killed before.' He had killed another Modifox in his lifetime, more than one, for that matter, and others had tried to kill him. He had always been on the run for the majority of his life, fleeing from place to place with his sister, Chi, though, it seemed wherever they managed to run, someone was waiting. They had to kill, or be killed... or lose themselves.
Oh yes, he had lost himself numerous times. He remembered snapping back to reality, a reality of a bloody scene with a corpse lying at his feet, his sister seething, twisting and convulsing as she fought with herself to maintain control again. And the blood... All that blood. It was everywhere. It's scent the only thing filling his nostrils, its warmth filling him, satisfying every need he could ever have. Despite the horrible sight before him that he had witnessed on numerous occasions, he felt perfect. He was perfect. And it was disgusting.
The vampiric fox shook his head. No, that was in the past. He did not need to brood over the past, for it could not be changed, no matter how badly he wanted to.

Daciana was walking - it could be seen as an odd thing for a Modiphim, who had winds with which to fly, but she saw no point in it. She was more ... at one with nature this way, more able to look around, and so she walked.
A quiet sigh left her as she listened to the sounds around her, readjusting her wings so that they lay nicely on her back (they'd shifted to be rather uncomfortable), and she started to hum softly. She'd been alone lately; she didn't really like to be alone, it gave her time to think about less than pleasant things, and so she hummed pleasant tunes to (in theory), keep her spirits up.
It never worked in that sense, but at least it kept her from going insane for the most part. However, as she glanced up, her song stopped as soon as it had started; there was a Modifox in that tree, and he appeared to be asleep. She stopped humming for the simple fact that she did not wish to disturb him anymore than she already might have.
She bowed her head slightly, though she couldn't help but wonder if he was safe in that tree. Debating whether to leave him alone or continue on her way, Daciana stared up at him, twitching her wings in an agitated manner.

He had smelled the other fox a while ago, though he did not think it would approach him. It had stopped; he had heard its footprints come to a halt beneath the tree he lay in. He looked down at it. A red, white, and blue Modiphim with rather intriguing patterns. Koumori had always found the patterns of others interesting, though he never stared. His gaze flicked toward her face, meeting her yellow-green eyes. He smiled, wishing his fangs did not protrude from his mouth in such an intimidating manner. Those fangs... They seemed to throw everyone off, having them second guess themselves when it came to approaching him, and he did not blame them. After all, his kind did not exactly have a pleasant reputation.
"Afternoon, ma'am," he finally spoke, tail swaying beneath him, as if to display a more kind ambiance than a threatening one. He did not want her to run. He did not want anyone to run. He never blamed them if they did, but he never wanted them to. He was not as malevolent as he was in the past; he was not one to attack others anymore. Yet they still ran. It was depressing.

She nodded her head to him and smiled up at him. "Hello there."
If his fangs unnerved her, she didn't show it - if she knew what he was, she also didn't show it. She did know he was a vampire, but she saw no harm in him; he seemed amicable enough, so she wouldn't be unnecessarily afraid of him until he proffered a reason for her to be.
Besides, she thought to herself; that would be rude. Carefully unfolding her wings, she looked around until she noticed a branch that looked as though it would support her weight and quickly moved to perch upon it, folding her wings back, so she could look him more in the eyes. Again, if his oddly coloured eyes and coat, or his fangs unnerved her, she hid it expertly, still smiling kindly.
"I'm Daciana. Sorry for disturbing you..." Her look was almost one of sheepishness, and her eyes skittered to the ground, a bit embarrassed for disturbing him unnecessarily.
