Basic Information

The weapon is essentially a bull-pup semi-automatic heavily fluted anti-material anti-target squad level .50 caliber sniper rifle. It reduces and lacks accuracy for an increased rate of fire, larger magazine, and reduced recoil. It uses a heavily fluted barrel, very similar to the PGM Hectate, which serves as the bulk recoil reducer for the weapon, pushing it down to what would normally expected to be felt of a 7.62mm sniper rifle. In addition, a soft impact gel pad and the semiautomatic firing system allows the weapon to push down it's felt recoil to roughly 10 joules, or half that of an M1 Garand; and is "nicer" as a metal or wood plate isn't pushing against the shoulder when firing. The weapon is long, heavy, and somewhat cumbersome, but these problems are manageable, and actually less than a comparable M240. To compensate for a lack of speed and lowered magazine size, when compared to other Designated Marksmen weapons, it almost strictly uses "Raufoss Mk. 211" High Explosive Incendiary/Armor Piercing Ammunition, this of course which greatly increases the damage done per round, considered to be on par with a 20mm round. While at close ranges it does run the risk of over penetration, it's explosive properties and lowered velocity from the shorter barrel (like all Sniper Rifles) decreases the risk of over penetration, especially at ranges of 400 meters and farther. It gets a solid 2 MOA, similar to that of most top-notch .223 or 5.56mm NATO assault rifles. The weapon of course, is very loud and produces a lot of gas, and as such very extensive hearing protection must be worn by the user, and depending on the proximity, fellow squad mates as well (although most units already have some form of hearing protection already).
