User ImageBranwen had never been happier in her life; she had found someone she truly loved and, after an exhausting trip to meet his large, extended family, she had heartily been accepted into their family. Her looks were something that always gave her concern. Her long, spear-tipped tail, cloven hooves and sharp horns, they were all symbols of the kalona who sired her. So many Soquili feared or hated kalona and Branwen couldn't bear the thought of being feared or hated simply because of her looks. But Lafayette's family wasn't like that at all, they had all accepted and with little resistance.

But now that the meet and greet was over, she was glad to finally have a moment to herself. It was difficult to find a bit of privacy when you're traveling with an entire herd that has quite a few questions about you and your mate. A light blush creeped to her cheeks as she thought about that. She gave a chuckle then lowered her head to drink from the stream she had snuck away to. They were really a wonderful bunch and she was happy to have become a part of it.

Norika wasn't exactly what would be called happy currently. After spending the last few days in the woods and only seeing a squirrel, she was getting pretty lonely. Unfortunately, she kept going slower and slower as she went back to thoughts of her friends and family that she left for this new land. Here there were things that she had never seen before, like the plains and horses that looked nothing like herself. But she really hadn't found any like her and that just added to her loneliness.

Shaking her head, she made her way towards the edge of the woods. She had made her decision, and now she had to live with it.Slipping out of the woods as quietly as she could, she made her way towards the stream. Maybe she could meet someone there, she thought to herself. But with her luck, all she'd find would be another squirrel.

The sound of movement in the woods nearby reached Branwen's ears and she quickly lifted her head, eyes searching for the source. While it was more than likely just a smaller forest creature, experience had taught her to never assume such things. And since she didn't have Lafa around to keep her safe, she had to be extra careful. Really, she shouldn't have been alone, considering more than one member of her family would like nothing more than the chance to rend her flesh from her bones.

She couldn't deny the small flutter in her heart at those thoughts. Her father and eldest sister struck something much darker and terrifying than simply fear into her. But she couldn't overreact, what if it is was just another, friendly Soquili? It wouldn't exactly be polite if she suddenly darted off without even a hello. So, she waited to see what would emerge from the wood, her body slightly tense for the possibility of a worse case scenario.

Norika stepped completely out of the wood, her fur still blending in behind her but she relished the feeling of warmth on her fur. Starting towards the stream, her red eyes scanning the area and she froze as her gaze landed on a figure by the stream. Considering the shape, it had to be another Soquili, but one could never be sure, especially after spending most of her day in the shaded woods. The changed light must be messing with her.

After blinking a few times, she realized she wasn't seeing things. There really was another down at the stream. Should she go down there? She wanted to go down and see the one by the stream but she didn't want to possibly interrupt, or get hurt for that matter, if it was malicious...

Loneliness won out in the end as she slowly headed towards the stream. She could only hope that the one down there was nice, and could possibly be her first friend around.

Branwen could see some sort of figure step out of the woods, but it was difficult to make anything out. She was certain that whatever it was, it was big, which ruled out the possibility of squirrels or birds. She felt a bit of panic starting to rise up in her but she tried her best to keep it under control. If she needed to, she could stand up for herself should this figure turn out to be less than friendly, and if worse came to worst, Lafayette wasn't too far away.

Taking a slow breath to try and calm herself, Branwen was quite pleased to see it was another Soquili that had emerged from the woods, and it didn't seem to display any kalona features. In fact, when she happened to notice the short, fluffy tail on the mare's rump she lost all fear she once had. The first Soquili she had met outside of her family was a Cerynei stallion and she had such a wonderful time with him. Surely this mare would be just as kind and friendly as Cael had been.

"Hello, down there!" She gave a wave with one of her wings and smiled brightly, always happy to meet another even if she had just spent the past few weeks meeting her new family.
