It had been a very, very trying day for Vidya... There were so many questions and not a single answer; and what was worse, there was an entire household of kids that were ordered to leave and go to their Aunts until told otherwise. She'd spent the first part of the day at Dee's with her family, trying to reassure the little ones and try to piece together what they knew about what was going on; which obviously made no sense. Once she couldn't stand that anymore without feeling the need to break down and cry, she'd gone out to the MiniShops, and spent the rest of the day with Jiro.
However now, as she was walking back to Dragonfly's...she found she didn't want to go there, back into that house where everyone was helpless and upset. She wanted everything gone, she wanted this morning to have never happened, she wanted to be at her real home with her family, damnit! But more than that...There was no way she'd last in a house with that much uncertainty...not now, not ever. Thus, without thinking about where she was going, she allowed her feet to just lead her somewhere, hopefully to somewhere she'd feel more stable by being there.
Before she knew it, she found herself standing outside of Tybalt's house, staring rather blankly at the building before her. Luckily for her she had smart feet...! She shared many ups and downs with him prior to tonight...and she severly hoped he wouldn't mind one more, especially one that was so out of nowhere. Taking a breath, she walked to the front door and rang the doorbell, waiting for someone, anyone, to answer.

The evening meal had long since concluded, driving everyone back to the sanctuary of their rooms--save Inle, of course, who had both pallid hands full with the younger members of the household. It was bedtime for them, a trying time for all involved between fussing, and getting up for trivial things, and fussing some more before the babies fell asleep, just short of driving Inle to her wit's end. Tonight proved to be an especially bad night, with Ciaran and Medea double-teaming Inle, one claiming to need a glass of water while the other complained of monsters at the window.
"SOMEONE GET THE DOOR!" she shouted, the sound bouncing through the walls of the House. They heard her, of course, but they didn't care, each able member of the household figuring another would do it. When no one came, the House decided to take matters into its own figurative hands. The front door unlocked and slowly swung open, seemingly of its own volition. The wood creaked on its hinges, a slowly rising noise as if it meant to say "come in." The light in the dark foyer turned on, causing the nearly-bare hardwood floors to gleam warmly.
"Thanks for nothing, guys," Inle muttered as thirst was slaked and fears assuaged, beginning to pad down the stairs in sock-clad feet. The door opened wider at her approach, and she frowned at the figure standing there. She recognized Vidya, of course, but the sad-seeming air she had about her was totally foreign and recognizable even to the emotionally-oblivious Inle. "Vidya? What's up, kid?"

Vidya's headwings twitched as Inle yelled; even from outside, she could pick up the sound of it echoing through the hallways. The sound proved to pique her hope; someone was going to answer the door soon, and she could finally get to some stable ground! The tale waited...and waited...and finally, the door creaked open; and she was a little startled to note that nobody was on the other side! She'd seen this in Fatal Frame more than once; that meant there was either a ghost around, or the house itself was haunted. Chances were it was both. She took a step forward, partially reaching out to put her hand on the door to open it farther...but every movement she made was stopped, and then reversed, as she heard Inle call her name.
"I ah...Hi, Inle." She started uncertainly, standing just outside of the open door. She wasn't herself, yes...but she still couldn't ignore the fact she would have been very rude to just walk in. "...Can I stay here...?" She muttered, her headwings lowering just a little more. "...Oh! I-It'll only be for one night, I promise~!" There, for a moment, she looked like her old self again; dramatically clarifying what she meant and assuring someone by actions alone that she really didn't mean to intrude. "I just...don't want to go back to Aunt Dee's tonight..." There, she had settled back down again, her upset creeping back into her voice. After all, the tale was sure Inle was on Enoh's list of calling people this morning.

The ears of Inle's green parasite drooped, as if it felt all the sympathetic emotions Inle herself wasn't quite capable of. She cleared her throat, a wholly unneccessary gesture, and stood back, silently bidding the Tale entry. Inle closed the door quietly behind her, locking it firmly; she wasn't exactly positive what was going on--Enoh had sounded rushed and stressed on the phone--but she owed her friend this. Vidya would be safe here.
"You know you're welcome here, and you can stay as long as you need to." Tybalt, once he found out, would likely insist that she stay as long as possible--not in so many words, but Inle was well-used to reading the intent beneath his often-flippant words by now. Inle certainly didn't mind; Vidya's mere presence made Tybalt much easier to deal with. The blue-skinned girl before her could certainly control him much better than Inle ever could. "Things'll work out," she said after a long, uncomfortable moment. "They always seem to."

Inle wasn't the only one who was in no way positive of what was going on; chances were if anyone knew what had actually gone on for sure, Vidya wouldn't have been knocking on the door. Giving the woman a thankful smile, Vidya stepped into the house, taking off her shoes at the doorway and shuffling inside far enough to easily close the door. Through everything, she found herself looking around the doorway and hallway, wondering if whoever had first opened the door was still around; then again, if it was a ghost like she originally thought, chances were she wouldn't see it anyway.
"Thank you." She said shortly, giving a little bow of gratitude; not that she knew what drove her to do so, it just felt natural. When silence fell for that rather long moment, Vidya couldn't help but shift uncomfortably; part of her said it was wrong to be here unannounced, but then again...the other part of her told the first part to shut the hell up, much like it had earlier that day. She startled momentarily from Inle's sudden words, and found herself nodding. "...I guess. Thanks again." She smiled once more, though it was hardly a smile anyone was used to seeing her with. She looked around for a moment; she really did want to go find Tybalt, but at the same time...
"Uhm...May I have a glass of water..?" She asked softly, leaning her head to the side. Her mouth felt like it was stuffed with cotton, and it was dry too boot; it was uncomfortable and she wanted to be rid of it before she clung onto her best friend.

An out! One that Inle was only too happy to take. "Sure. Tybalt's upstairs, if you want to go see him. Third door on the left. I'll bring your water up." With that, she shuffled off into the kitchen, her awkward amble making her seem more of a zombie than ever. She almost felt bad, foisting off a guest on Tybalt even if she was Tybalt's best friend. But only almost. In any case, he'd be able to comfort her a lot better than she could, not that that was saying much at all.

Vidya couldn't help the small chuckle that left her lips; either Inle gained a psychic ability to tag along with that...interesting...form she now had, or she herself was rather transparent. Really, she figured it was the latter. "...Third door on the left." She parroted softly to make sure she remembered it. "Okay. Thanks again, Inle..!" Giving another small bow, she turned and made her way to the staircase, climbing it quietly.
Her knowledge of the house only applied to the front door, the main hallway, the sprocket room and of course the basement...so this in itself was quite an adventure: one she would've probably been more interested in any other day. She turned her head to better see the doors, even though she could somewhat 'see' out of her blind eye, it was still much easier for her this way. Counting to three, she turned and knocked lightly on the third door; there was no way she was going to just open it, that'd be rude! "...Captain?" She questioned to the door.

It really was the latter. That and no one ever came to see her, not that she minded--she had little use for people anyway, and these days they couldn't seem to stop staring at the green rabbit attached to her skull. What, hadn't anyone ever seen an exceptionally cute leech before? It would have bothered her a little had it not been so amusing to watch people stare and stammer and eventually flee in fear that she was going to eat their brains.
Tybalt, meanwhile, was sprawled on his stomach on his bed, wings spread out and dangling over the sides as he read a book on naval history. He had heard Inle's initial yell but ignored it, something he made a bad habit of doing. He also heard the knock on the door, and he blinked at it in surprise and suspicion--he wasn't expecting anyone, and the voice on the other side was muffled to the point of unrecognizability by the thick wood.
He turned his book upside-down to hold his place, sliding off the bed and resettling his wings as he moved towards the door. Tybalt hesitated a moment before cracking it open, peeking out with one sea-blue eye. It landed on brighter-blue skin, and it really wasn't hard to put two and two together. "Vidya?" he asked, pulling the door open wider to stare at her quizzically. "What're ye doin' here?"

Vidya's headwings twitched as she heard the muffled, but unmistakeable sound of Tybalt's talons tapping against the floor as he walked. It was hearing him on the other side did she finally realize...he had no idea what was going on. At least Inle knew enough to not ask, but Tybalt didn't talk to her Mother! That meant...she'd have to explain it...
Aww, crap, she thought as she rubbed her face absently; I don't want to have to explain it again...I might start crying for real this time. She almost cried infront of Jiro. Almost. Really, that was something she never wanted to do infront of her Captain. Ever. She squeaked softly in surprise when he opened the door a crack, staring at him dumbly for a moment or two. Crap, she hadn't thought about what to say~! Just smile Vidya, her mind told her, and pretend that nothing is wrong! Tell him as if it doesn't matter, that way it'll be over with quicker and you won't have to deal with it again tonight...!
"I...Uh..." She started uncertainly, flicking her eyes up to meet his before dragging them down to the ground at her feet. Oh boy were her socks interesting today. She cleared her throat to attempt to rid herself of any distressed tones she had left. "Well...Things aren't...right...at home, so..." Alright, so she failed at getting rid of most of her distressed tones. Sheesh, why was it so hard to tell him this? There was a part of her that was absolutely bitter over the fact she was having such a hard time. Her headwings flickered in discomfort, then lowered like they had earlier. "I...don't want to go back to Aunty Dee's tonight. A-and I thought of you so ...I asked your Mom if I could stay here for the night." She said a little hurriedly, just wanting to the rest of it out before something distracted her and she ended up changing her mind and going home. "She said I could stay, so...here I am." Vidya murmured softly, still not even attempting eye contact; nor did she make a single attempt at a smile.

Not right? Things must be downright bad to have put that tired, defeated tone in Vidya's voice. Curiosity drove him to all sorts of factless conclusions, but she looked too weary to deal with questions--for her he could try out that "tact" thing people kept yammering on at him about. "Course ye can stay," he said as if that should have been obvious, unconsciously echoing Inle's previous words as he stepped back to open the door further.
He turned from her back to the bed, scooping up the book and dogearing the page before placing it on a shelf. It was an idle task, really. Vidya was obviously distraught and he didn't know what to do with it. He was hardly a person to go to for comfort or sympathy, so he had no idea why she had come here; it didn't strike him to hide his discomfiture for her sake.
"You uh...ya need anythin'? Glass o' water, somethin' t' eat?" I know where Mum hides th' liqour if ye just wanna get drunk an' ferget about yer problems fer awhile, was the offer left unsaid. Vidya didn't seem like the drinking kind. Maybe he'd save that for if she got desperate.

With eerily silent steps, Vidya absently followed him into his room; she'd probably end up following him for the rest of the night, until he yelled at her or something, anyway. She'd already discovered she didn't like to be alone, especially now; her mind tended to dwell on only the bad and the depressing, especially as of late...so why not trail someone? That would most definately stop her from being alone, right? "...No thanks, Your Mum said she'd bring some water up for me...and I'm not hungry." Her voice was still as soft as it had been for nearly the entire day. What she had told her Captain was the truth; she just neglected to mention she hadn't eaten anything at all for the entire day.
"So...How've you been?" Horray for distracting small talk! Fortunately for Tybalt, she didn't care if he said or did anything to comfort her or to express sympathy; the fact he was here was good enough for her. Though it would be quite the bonus if he did. Even if he stayed silent the entire night, she'd probably still feel better; Which was also the reason she trailed after him when she could. After a moment of silence however, Vidya reached out and wrapped both of her arms around one of his own, sighing softly as she lightly nuzzled his shoulder.
"I can tell you're curious." She murmured against his shoulder. "If you wanna ask questions you can, but you have to give me a hug for each question~!" She finished finally, playfully sticking out her tongue; obviously she was fighting to get back to her old self. Vidya's tone was teasing, naturally...he didn't have to hug her, she'd probably cave and tell him everything at one point. But as it stood...this felt nice.

Tybalt eyed this new Vidya warily, nodding. He had never seen her anything less than annoyingly happy, and he wasn't quite sure what to do with her now that she wasn't. He didn't like seeing her this way, dammit, it threw off the natural order of things. It threw HIM off. He sighed.
"I've been alright. Catchin' up on me readin' while everythin's frozen outside." More like holing up in his room because it was warm and cozy and he just couldn't take the cold. He rarely ventured out of it anymore, except for meals and bathroom breaks. This time was not spent idly, however; he had acquired several books relating to history, weaponry, and boats and was devouring them as a starving man might a feast.
He sighed again as she hugged his arm. Though he didn't move to return the gesture, his wings spread and came around to enfold them both, tips almost touching. It was as close to comfort as she was going to get, with those terms--he could stay curious a little longer. "Ye'll tell me when ye're ready," he murmured, resting his cheek atop her head. It was only a convenient place to rest his head, he told himself.

He wasn't the only one who was unsure of what to do with her; she barely knew that to do with herself. "Thats good." Vidya absently stated; the small talk just wasn't doing it. "I've been reading too...and I've gone swimming every day. Well...'cept for today." He didn't ask, but not that she cared; obviously she'd tell him whether he wanted to hear it or not. "I got this book called 'The Princess Bride' from Valen...its got everything in it! Pirates, Knights, Theives, Princesses, Princes, Monsters, big battles and funny senarios...everything." Infact, she'd left it in her side bag from yesterday; she was too tired last night to read, so in the bag the book remained. This was good, incase she wouldn't sleep tonight, or woke up.
Vidya turned her head a bit when she felt his wing against her, noticing that both had moved. With a faint smile she rested her head back against his shoulder, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Though she didn't understand it, she found she quite liked this; too bad it wasn't under different terms though, a soft voice in the back of her mind commented. "Yeah...But it didn't hurt to try." She chuckled softly; she'd known he'd say something like that, but it was still somewhat amusing to try anyway.
"My Dad...He-he went missing...We think, anyway.." She started after a few moments of silence; she'd grown so comfortable just leaning against him like this, it felt safe to talk now. Once she started, she backtracked and told him how Nio had treated Adonis and Harmony, then about the spaceship that took off from the backyard, plus how Enoh cried at the doorway. By then, she was shaking, and trying her very best to keep from outright crying; this was hard for her, since she was so attached to her family. She mentioned how Enoh had literally ordered them out of the house, and while she knew her Mother did it with their safety in mind, it was still so very scary to her. Vidya was still a kid, after all... "So I don't know whats going on, what Dad had to do with it...Anything. I don't know Anything...I don't like not knowing anything, and I hate feeling so...so helpless." A hiss of bitterness pushed into her otherwise hitched tone at her last few words; it was uncharacteristic of her, but it was nonetheless true. "It...hurts.."
Still, she faught herself internally; the urge to cry was almost unbareable, but she was trying so hard to not do just that. She couldn't stop the tears from forming, but she could brush then away with her fists and fingers, and she did just that; though one arm remained around his the entire time, not wanting to let go.

Tybalt smiled against her hair at the description of the book. "Mum's got th' movie. Never cared enough t' see it...might have to pick up th' book if it's that good, though. Do th' pirates win?" It may not be worth checking out if they didn't, especially if they lost to the knights.
He mentally berated himself at the laugh that was so much less than what he'd come to expect from Vidya. He was supposed to be comforting her, he reminded himself, awkwardly patting her shoulder. There, that was better. Though it probably wasn't, it was certainly more comfort than he was used to giving; people just didn't use his shoulder to cry on, for some reason.
He stilled as she began recounting the events of the past few days, slowly growing angry on her behalf. The eventual tensing of his muscles expressed it even as he stroked her arm with his free hand. "'S alright, Vid, g'head 'n let it out. Things'll...work themselves out." Probably. Hopefully. He didn't like seeing Vidya like this, and made a mental note to rip Nio's heart out through his nostrils for causing this crisis.
Tybalt certainly wasn't the only one. Inle, glass of water in hand, had been listening at the door. Vidya unwittingly told her what Enoh hadn't, and where Tybalt was mad for Vidya, Inle was mad for Enoh. The depth of anger surprised her--normally she didn't really care what sort of messes people made of their lives--but this was Enoh, one of the few people she could honestly call a friend. Tybalt could have Nio's heart, as long as she got the rest of his vital organs.
After a gentle knock, she opened the door and stepped through. "I, uh...got your water." The look Tybalt shot her was somewhere between grateful and hateful, and his wings closed further around himself and Vidya. "I'll...just leave it here, then," she said, putting the glass on the dresser and walking out, shutting the door quietly behind herself.

"So far there's only one Pirate...and he's winning now, where I left off, anyway. He's tracking down the Princess and the Bandits who kidnapped her." Vidya informed him; somehow it felt good to talk about the book, for one reason or another. "He faught a Master in a dual and he won...and now he's fighting this really big, really strong Turk...I'm sure he'll win that one, too. Its really cool." She had said, smiling faintly against his arm...until she retold the events that led to her getting here, anyway.
Once she had gotten it all out, she was trembling as if frozen; but in reality, her trembles were her body's way of making up for the fact she's been fighting to not cry. By the time he urged her to let it out, she'd already started, unable to bite it back any longer. She cried like she'd been wanting to do all day; though she really did picture herself being alone when she finally caved. Luckily for her, Tybalt was here. Whether he said anything or not, she was thankful he was just there. She'd wrapped both of her arms around that one of his by now and she held it close against her, her forearms crossed and her hands grasping opposite sides of his sleeve, and her forehead rested against his shoulder.
"Th-thank y-you..." She'd managed to cry out, having by chance seen Inle in the doorway...though she didn't do much else after that, aside from trying to calm herself down. Vidya's tears had, in time, been reduced to shuddering hiccups, but even as she willed herself to calm down after finally allowing herself to cry, she never once released his arm. Despite her confusion and loneliness, she felt so warm right now, so safe...and more importantly, stable...all while she clung onto him, while she felt his wing closed tighter around her.
Once she calmed herself down completely (save for the completely random, hiccupping breath), she looked positively exhausted. She'd been through a lot, not to mention all of the stress her small body wasn't used to. That, doubled with the fact she hadn't eaten at all today and that she had practically cried her eyes out just now...well...she was exhausted.
"...I'm sorry, Captain..." She murmured after a few minutes, looking down his arm and to the ground. Vidya didn't want to look at him now; she was positive she looked as gross as she felt right now "But...thank you so much." She sniffled, glancing up at him for only a second, to flash a thankful smile before she went back to not looking at him. Slowly, she loosened her grip on his arm, unsure of whether to let go like she was sure he wanted her to, or to not let go like she wanted to, despite how thirsty she was by this point.
