Okay, just to clarify, this is a profile pic for a character from a sort of story thing of mine called Deathwish Academy. Although she is dead, she should look alive save for the wound that killed her.
I like the sketch better than the digital coloring. It's got that ZING! that gives a character life... somewhere in Adobe it was lost.... maybe that's where the zombie thing comes in I guess.
what if.... you took the colored image and the sketch, made the sketch a separte layer over the colored image and set that layer to 'multiply' in the layers palette? the Sketch image would show everything underneath save for the blackness of the pencil lines...

I've found the main difference between the two is the eyes. I wound up messing them up when inking, making her look slightly mentally retarded instead of streetwise. xp

It could look better if you added some more texture in her clothes maybe and a little more shadow underneath the chin to give her face more volume. surprised
