Well, I sort of want to re-do, or twist up a myth. After reading a pointless serious about Hades(it was boring, and Perseus was turned into gooda cheese), I wanted to twist up a myth, or act like a hero or a damsel in distress. I'm unsure if anyone will like this idea, but it's a sort of think our way through type of deal. Post if you would like to try something like this out, and we'll decide on what myth we want to do. Personally, I think the Trojan war or The Argonauts would be awesome, but I'd like to hear your ideas

Sounds interesting but I would choose something besides the Trojan War. We did that in an RP with Amata and it was pretty crazy.

Hi, Queen.

How crazy did it become?

I would recommend doing one surrounding the Argonautica. And instead of focusing on their exploits, it would be amusing to see what they were like as a crew during the uneventful parts of the sailing to Kolkhis. The thing I love about the Argo is that it was basically an excuse to do a big mythical crossover story, with tons of heroes, kings and demigods all cooped up in one ship.

Well, we know they had a lot of fights, which is why Orpheus played his lyre, to soothe the company.

Exactly. And there are 50 characters to choose from, which presents a lot of variety.

Some of the more interesting Argonauts are:

Jason, of course, captain of the Argo, son of Aeson and Alkimede, rightful heir to the throne of Iolkos.

Akastos, son of Pelias and step-brother to Jason.

Argos, builder of the Argo.

Medea the sorceress and priestess of Hekate, abducted willingly by Jason from Kolkhis. Daughter of the immortal king Aeetes and grandaughter of Helios.

Atalanta, the only woman on board when the journey started. A famous huntress, daughter of king Iasos of Arkadia.

Herakles, the greatest of all heroes, son of Zeus and Alkmene, endowed with the strength of ten men.

Hylas, Herakles' companion, son of king Theiodamas of Dryopia.

Iolaus, son of Iphikles. Nephew, charioteer (and lover) of Herakles, now married off to Herakles' first wife Megara.

Bellerophon, before he became famous for his taming of Pegasos and vanquishing Khimaira.

Orpheus, the son of Oeagros of Thrake, greatest musician in the world. (would probably have quite a gripe with Herakles, since Orpheus' brother Linus was killed by a frustrated young Herakles after trying to teach him to play the lyre).

Askalaphos, the demigod son of the underworld river god Akheron and the nymph Orphne. He was the orchardist of Hades, and later turned into a screech-owl by Demeter for his part in the Persephone myth, becoming the familiar of Hades.

Mopsos, son of Ampyx and Khloris. The first seer of the crew, who understood the portents of bird flights.

Idmon, son of Abas and Asteria. The second seer of the crew, he foresaw his own death on the voyage but joined anyway and met his fate in Mariandyni, where he was gored by a boar.

Meleager, the host of the Calydonian Boar Hunt (which was the SECOND mythical crossover story).

Philoktetes, son of King Poias of Meliboia. A preternaturally skilled archer.

King Admetos of Pherai, renowned for his benevolence, a close friend of Apollon due to the god's punishment of serving a mortal for a year.

King Laertes of Ithaka, the father of Odysseus

King Peleus of Aigina, the father of Akhilles, husband of the goddess Thetis.

Telamon, brother of Peleus and father of Ajax and Teukros.

King Nestor of Pylos, who served in the Trojan War as Agamemnon's advisor.

Tiphys the original helmsman of the Argo, before a mysterious illness claimed his life. He was replaced by:

King Ankaios of Samos, the best helmsman in the world.

Kastor and Polydeukes, the Dioskouroi (or Gemini). Twin half-brothers with different fathers, one mortal, the other divine.

Zetes and Kalais, the Boreades. Winged sons of Boreas, god of the North Wind, fleetest of the crew, who drove off the Harpyiai.

In reply to your crazy question. It was very very crazy. Just go look for the Trojan RP and look through the first few pages. We went crazy.

I like Akherontis's idea though and I think Atalanta would be fun to play.

Wasn't it said that some of Poseidon's children were also on-board the ship as well, Professor?
If so, are any of them respectable enough to be worth considering playing?

[Another note: Didn't Iolaus appear in The Aeneid where he fought alongside the Trojans, there, and fought an epic battle during the Hesperian Wars?]
[[An extra note: I believe i came up with an idea that may help with Role-Plays based on Olympian Lore!]]

Theseus, in some accounts, is a son of Poseidon.

I would probably like to play either Theseus or Orpheus myself. I need to go research again what the Argonauts went through before Colchis.

If this is them sailing before they reach the island, wouldn't Medea be off the list?
And wasn't a lot of the ship mates really mad because Atlanta was on board, a female?
