I have a cat that seems to enjoy pestering me while i meditate, often breaking my circle. So can you fix a circle once its broken? or do i have to re-cast it?

Dude, Cats are a hugely useful tool in magic. Train the cat to work WITH you.

Cats usually can come and go as they please without disrupting the magic around or within. Perhaps you could reevaluate how you cast your circle?

Midnight_WillowWolf he's a bit.....rebellious You might be surprised what the cat ISN'T telling you. If you don't let the cat break your concentration but make sure the cat is welcomed into what you're doing. Would probably solve your problem.

There's something to keeping them out of the space, though. Cats are drawn to the power, like they're being called. It can aide or break your concentration, in my opinion. Most cats who are ignored will do crazy things for attention. I'd say it's a matter of whether you feel comfortable with the cat working within your boundaries. If not, buy some catnip and throw it into the next room, then shut it until you're done. If so, try some ideas from this site: Meditating with Your Cat

My personal opinion is that if you're just casting a circle as a rigid bubble of energy, you're narrowing it down too much.
Try casting the circle and envisioning the space it creates as, instead of a dome or a bubble, a sphere of gelatin. It moves, it vibrates, and you can pass into, out of, and through it without disturbing its form or its purpose. Cast it in such away that the cat is allowed to pass through it without disturbing it, and your problem is solved. 3nodding

When I cast circles I do it like Ravyn suggested. During the actual casting though, I cast it so that only things I don't want to enter, are kept out.
You definitely need to work on it though. If it's as simple to break your circle by just having your cat walk into the space...there's a good chance you're doing something wrong. Everyone is different in how they do these things, but the way you're doing it obviously isn't the right way for you.
I've never had that problem with my cat. I actually have a black male cat named Luna (we call him Lunatic lol), and he's always interacted with me when I'm doing some kind of spell or rite. He likes to jump up onto my altar and just lay down while I'm doing anything of the sort. He never gets up there when I'm not doing something though. I've never had him break my circle either, he's always been able to pass into it without any problems. But he's not there to hurt me either, and I've accepted him as part of my regular routine when doing spell work.

Arleeana is very correct; the casting of the circle should include some kind of definition of what can and cannot enter. When I cast a circle, and I know I don't need any outside help and won't be disturbed, I basically cast it with a shield component and define it as "This is my space, no one and nothing else's."
