I agree. And yes I like music, although I have no talent for playing. I just listen. But I give major credit to people who can play. Can anyone here play an instrument? I used to play saxophone.

Awesomeness! XD I play the flute. I love music listening... most of my favorites fall under indie, alternative, rock and pop. And you guys?

I play the piano, and I just started to play the ukulele.
I enjoy all kinds of music, so I can't say that I have a favorite, though I happen to like listening to music from the 40s alot... sweatdrop

Just remember your scales, practice everyday, and learn to curl your fingers when you are playing. The technique is very important when you play.
I've been doing lessons for almost 13 years now... But due to a few years of travel and different teachers, I've gotten a bit rusty...

I believe she's referring to the Treble(Top) and Bass(Bottom) Clef Staffs.

***

A staff consists of five lines and four spaces where the notes are written on. So... You'd be looking at things like this:

Treble Clef Staff
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Bass Clef Staff
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Basically, she's talking about the method of remembering the notes that would be between the lines of the staff.

FACE is used to remember the notes on the four spaces of the Treble Clef. From the bottom of the staff, you would count the spaces upward as:

-----
E
-----
C
-----
A
-----
F
-----

So, just remember FACE and you now know what the notes are for those four spaces. It's best if you learn the C Major Scale so that you can easily remember all of the notes on the staff.

For the Bass Cleff, an easier method would be remembering FACE and the knowing the basic C major scale.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
(From the bottom note, MiddleC D E F G A B C)

To learn the spaces of the Bass Clef is simply applying FACE but moving the F two keys down the staff. Two letters above E is G(Since the scale goes as E F G). So you would see it as:

-----
G
-----
E
-----
C
-----
A
-----

I'm kinda rough on details and terminology, but is that a bit more clear? 3nodding
