Looking out towards the horizon, Uru felt herself sigh, watching the sun go down. It seemed like only yesterday she was playing in the mud, a happy little pup, but now, she was a young adult.
Things had changed, but she was still young. Her only dilemma was what she was going to do now. She was an adult, and expected to do adult things- which was her real problem. What were adult things?
Pinching in the side of her mouth, she sat down in the dirt, letting her mind go blank. It prevented any panicking, like a pre-mid-life crisis. Right now, though, she just wanted someone to come and just tell her what to do.

Padding with his back to the horizon, Mojito ran his dry tongue along the inside of his mouth. His new rank came with a certain sense of freedom and etertaining others, as well as educating, was rewarding, but it was murder on his throat.
He'd grown. Not physically, but mentally. No longer did he have the look of a young adult, though he still had a roguish smile. At the moment, he was hoping to flash it off. At one particular lady herself.
"Uru?" Mojito's ears flipped back as he approached. Something wasn't right. "Is everything alright?"

Brown eyes searching for nothing at all, Uru shook a little in surprise as she heard her name. "Oh!" Spinning around, she saw the familiar figure of Mojito. Oh, did she love to see that figure when she was feeling a bit down.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just...thinking too much, y'know?" Grinning, she fully turned now, standing up to face him. She was so glad he was here, just seeing him made the thoughts of the future seem faint and unimportant.
"But what're you up to?" Keeping a smile on her maw, she eyed him, his pale coat seemed to glow when the sun hit it.

Mojito exhaled on a barked laugh. "I wouldn't recommend it; it might fry what brain you still have left." He nipped her ear affectionately as he passed by, then turned and came to sit at her side, looking out over the horizon.
Something about her always made his dark days bright. Not that he had many here. Ever since joinging he'd felt a certain level of peace, a feeling that he'd finally come home.
Casually, Mojito shrugged. "A little this, a little that. I saw a friend today and he told me an amazing story."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Nudging him playfully in return, Uru laughed. Life was always more fun with him around.
"An old friend, huh?" Watching him, she wondered who he went to see. She still didn't know everything about him, but she kind of liked that little bit of mystery.
"And what did he tell you, hm? You know I love stories." Grinning, she swished her tail behind him, feeling his soft fur.

Ducking with a laugh, he turned the other cheek, playfully leading her on until he broke. "Alright, but only because I like you."
Mojito leaned up against her, motioning to the vast world with a dramatic paw. "He told me that no one being has it's full soul when it's born. When I asked him why, he said that it was because their mate had the other."
He snickered, feeling a little more than embarrassed to be talking about this now. "He said that a hyena named Ashira was born the mate of Hyembo, a grown male. And you know what? She didn't care. She lived her life until the point where she could tell him and they've been mated since."

Feeling her face redden as he said he liked her, Uru tried to just pass off the comment nonchalantly. "Is that.....right?" Nodding, she smiled, but could feel her skin crawl a bit. Awkward much?
"That's a sweet story." Looking over at him, she couldn't help but give him only a glance. The story was sweet, but had something a little more to it. It really made Uru happy to think about, sitting here next to him.
"But I wonder if it really happens- stuff like that." Pawing at the ground a little, she couldn't help but feel the fantasy in it.

"Maybe." Mojito looked at her through the corner of his eye. "Personally, I don't know of any, but I'm sure you do. Your parents are happy together, aren't they?"
Wistfully, he sat up and took a step to the ever darkening sky. "I'd like to believe it does. That someone's out there, sleeping under the same stars, dancing in the same sun." Nervously, he laughed and looked back, "That sounded really lame, didn't it?"

"Yeah, so I suppose." Well, her parents being happy gave her a small spark of hope. That is, until it was crushed by what Mojito said next.
Out there. That wasn't here, right next to him. Staring off at the ground, Uru felt the cool breeze like a rock hitting her face. This day just didn't seem like a very good one.
"Oh, uh, yeah, I guess." Glancing to the side, she couldn't look at him. She'd be too sad. It just seemed like he wasn't seeing that she liked him too.

"Not that I'd pick her." He mused aloud, rolling his eyes up into his thinking face. One of his ears perked up while the other laid flat on it's side. "I'd like someone who was spunky, and fun. Who would say if she wanted something so I wouldn't get into trouble by guessing the wrong thing." He grinned.
Of course, the female he was thinking of was less than a full step away, but he didn't want to push her away. Compared to her he was....he was....old.

"Oh, I.....I see." Well, if he wanted someone who'd tell him things, Uru was already doing poorly. Sighing deeply, she decided that instead of sitting there like a lump, she was going to do a little tormenting.
"So what's this girl look like?" Grinning, she came to her feet, circling Mojito slowly as she rand her tail around him. "Since you seem to know very well what you want." Nodding, she tried to have a playfully stern look. As she went behind him, she couldn't help but giggle a little at herself- she hoped that all this foolishness she was doing was paying off in some way.

"For starters, she has a beautiful smile." He shivered, the fur on the back of his neck rising up as her tail passed over him. "And gorgeous brown eyes. She would have....let's see." Mojito raised a paw and started ticking off numbers on his claws "One, maybe two? No, three diamonds in a row on a darker pelt."
Now that she was an adult, he couldn't stop thinking of ways to compliment her. And yet, even to himself the words came out as babble. Wasn't it enough to be near her?

Oh my, now Uru was getting antsy. She unconsciously held her breath, waiting for his every word like it was food for a starving dog.
"And does this female have a name?" Uru could feel her insides melting- by this point she had stopped right in front of him, staring straight at him. She felt as though it was a dream, or a coincidence, but she needed to know, she needed to hear it from him, or she'd just die inside.
"Say it...." She mouthed, with words that were only audible to her.

Mojito leaned forward, his taller head dipping down til his nose was a hair's width away from hers. His heart was about to beat out of his chest and it wouldn't ceased until he gave in.
"Uru," Mojito whispered nervously. Then more confidently, and tenderly, he said. "Her name is Uru. I've watched her as she grew from a little mud pup to an enchanting mistress, and still lack the words to tell her."
