He shook his head, more and more water dripping from his mane each time he moved.
"No point in getting you all wet too. I'll find somewhere to camp out then maybe once this storm clears out I'll come back and see if you're still around," he was starting to get worried. Was she afraid of water or something?
"Either that or head down to the watering hole. There's a few herbs and stones I'd like to try to look for..."

She nodded, watching him closely. Her red eyes never left him, but she didn't seem to realize that could be considered creepy. She was partially trying to see if he would disappear if she didn't blink, and partially she just liked looking at him.
"I probably will be," she said, still looking at him. "Herbs and stones? What do you need them for?"

"I'm a... healer. In training. I still have a lot of work to do before I'm a real healer but I think I'm doing okay," he smiled. "I'm going to go find somewhere near the lake to wait this out but I'll be back."

After a second of hesitation, she returned the smile. "A healer? That's really neat. Good luck! Finding shelter and finding herbs and becoming a healer!" Her smile widened, especially when he said he'd return. She was kind of liking this apparition. He was definitely better than some she had thought up!
"Okay!"

He said his goodbyes and left, glancing back several times as he tried to remember that place. It really wasn't too far to the watering hole. He really shouldn't get lost between here and there.
Once he could see the pond he made his way to a nearby tree which also happened to be (fortunately) unoccupied.

Under her bush, Bayhas smiled a bit and curled up close, wrapping her tail around her. The rain would stop soon. Maybe she could take a nap while she waited. It was worth a shot anyway.

Chane managed to sleep a while under the semi-protection of the tree. There were no real predators out this time of day, in this level of rain. Not that that often stopped him from being able to sleep.
When the rain slowed to a drip he rolled over, pulled himself to his feet and moseyed on down to the watering hole.
The stones were easy enough to find but the plants still looked thin. Not yet engorged with all the water they could drink.
Frowning. He made his way back to the place he'd last seen Bayhas.

She did doze off after, and she was still sleeping when Chane returned. Curled up like a kitten, she had rolled over so her head was tipped back and she was snoring away. This was about the only time she would ever seem like a regular lioness. There was no paranoia, no hallucinations, and no conspiracy theories. She was peaceful, and asleep.

Chane stopped outside the shrub patch and tried to peer inside. He didn't hear any movement and after the last greeting he'd given her he didn't want to just crawl in and risk a paw full of claws to his face.
Still though... was it possible she'd moved on?

Still sleeping soundly, she rolled over and her tail flopped out from under the bush. She made a happy noise at something she was dreaming and started to purr.

Chane flinched and nearly scurried backwards when the vicious tail flopped out from behind the bush.
It took a moment for his heart to stop racing franticly but when it did he took a deep breath and stepped forward, "Uh, miss?"

Scared, he stretched out one paw to touch her tail.
"Um... Hey miss? Are you okay..?"

When he touched her, she started and jumped to her feet, resulting in some scratches from the bush. "Oh!" she cried, peering out to see who had woken her. "Its you again! Hi!"

"Hi there," he said, wide eyed and shifting back and forth as he tried to see her better. "Rain's stopped. It's even starting to dry out a bit out here too."
