Freedom! Sweet, sweet freedom! That was what went through Lennox's mind as he scurried away from his mother's den and out into the general pride vicinity. The bright eyed cub was exploding with pent up energy he wanted to use for play, exploration and the normal hijinks of cubs his age.

He trotted across the ground with his awkward little paws, big bright smile, that could easily match his eyes, spread across his face. Looking around he managed to spot a little frog hopping across the dirt and stalked after it, wanting to follow it to see where it would go.

"What are you doing, little friend?" Lennox asked openly, though he did not expect the frog to acknowledge or even respond to him.

Eniko scowled as a grey cub hopped about. What was so much fun? And why was she missing out on it!? She threw a glance over her shoulder towards her parents and siblings. They all seemed preoccupied, one by another. She sent off with great determination after this little boy-cub.

Her pink eyes were narrowed critically until he stopped and spoke to the frog.

"Why are you talking to that smelly frog? It won't answer you, you know." She stated it matter-of-factly and threw her nose into the air, a little pretentious, but she'd rather have him pay attention to her than a stinky ol' amphibian.

Lennox hadn't notice Eniko sneak up on him until he heard her and jumped, causing the frog he had been focusing his attention on to race off and make him sad. He refocused his attention back to Eniko and gave her a half-inquisitive, half-scowled expression at her comment about Mr.Frog.

"Maybe you're the smelly one," Lennox said offhandedly, pawing at the dirty puddle to get some mud and slather it on his face.

Lennox loved mud, there was something about the coolness of it that made him feel happy. It was so simple and yet so complex and it felt great in his fur and skin. Truthfully it had become his own little obsession. He liked to play in it, paint with it, wrestle in it, and at one point he had tried to eat it, but that didn't quite turn out the way he planned.

"Do you want some mud? The mud's warm today," He commented, offering her a paw full of it.

Her? Smelly?! No way! Mama Kimama wouldn't let her wander around all stinky-like. She grimaced as he smeared it on his face. Augh. Absolutely disgusting. Wretched! Just plain gross!
Now Eniko wasn't a real girly-girl per say. But she couldn't stand for filth. Yuck!

"No thank you. I don't want any mud. No matter the temperature." She wrinkled her nose and snorted at the cub. "Why don't you do something that isn't gross or smelly or dumb?"

"I am," Lennox said, plunking the paw-ful of rejected mud onto his fur and rubbing it around.

If he made sure to make himself nice and dirty, maybe later on he could sucker his Dad into giving him a bath. He likes baths from his mom, but sometimes he just wanted to spend time with his father, and he was getting that itching at the moment. Maybe he'll lose a feather, and Lennox could keep that feather and put it in his mane or something. His dad was so cool...

"I'm playing in the mud instead of with you," Lennox said idly. He wasn't good at the whole 'being mean' thing, but he wasn't gonna let her call him gross, smelly and dumb without a retort, no matter how lame.

Eniko just grimaced as he slathered the mud all over himself. Was she even sure that this was a cub? Maybe she'd stumbled across a swamp monster. Maybe it was one of those spirits she'd heard about. Nah. Spirits couldn't be this gross. His intended quip didn't really work as he'd probably expected or planned.

Instead, a flush spread across her cheeks (though it was hidden by darker patches of fur) and she grew adamant. "Well you're gonna play with me now that I'm here. But no mud! Mud is gross. Come on, we're going on an adventure."

She turned her tail and started to lead them to a known spot of fresh water that ran nice and clear.
