This topic is on you, the players of FFXI and what you like to do when you are online. Please answer the question of which is your favorite job to level as it would be helpful for new players, so they could use it as a guidelinein choosing their own job. Coming soon will be the walkthrough on how to obtain the higher level jobs.
Of ccourse since the poll max is 10 I am only asking your opinions on the first 6 jobs that are first given to you to level

As BLM was my first Job I played it was also the most enjoyable from my experience from level 1-10 the difficulty to level it wasn't as hard as many people stated and that time i didn't even have a whm sub. BLM wasn't all that hard to level too. although it was easier to get into a party unlike other DD some gear that raise 1 or 2 INT costed way too much compared to other jobs and the added bonus.

I played WHM first, then later changed to PLD. But still to this day WHM is one of my favorite jobs, both as a main and a sub for PLD. And Hell if a Nobles tunic wasn't 15mil i'd lvl it again!

WHM was so boring... haven't played any more boring job than WHM... I'm surprised I even got it up to 37 as subjob!
I had a lot of fun levelling BRD to 75 as well as RDM.
But, the most fun job in my opinion, out of the base jobs is the THF. From 15 and up to 37, damn I ruled. 700 dmg SATA Viper Bite (against Bats... durr).

BLM Is amazingly fun. But some of the spells you have to quest, and the AFs are alittle nerve racking...

well first off any new playes need to ask what they what they want to do like i wanted to use magic and fight so i choose rdm and i am a tarutaru and i choose bastok (not best place for a tarutaru to start at) but if you want to use magic windurst is the choose for you but for brute power bastok is the town to start out. sandorea is a 50-50 place. and my final advice for new players is train alown till around lvl 10. well hope this will help some one. and for the record Red Mages all the way. blaugh

When I first started FFXI, I was a RDM. Later I grew bored with it and went with WAR. Now today, I'm a DRG, and loving every moment of it. smile

I'd have to say warrior. After being a Warrior for like...Close to 2 years (Turned 75 last year so yeah...)...I have to say...Warrior will be my true love in this game >.>;
The most basic yet complicated job at the same time [Complicated only if you aren't one of those bandwagon jumpers that are leveling warrior for fast killing PTs up in the 70s for more exp/hour along with more merits and just spaming the Rampage macro without G.Axe and /THF sub...Eh...Sorry for the little rant ^^;]. It's just...So fun >.>; Being able to tank a God, kite Kirin, /NIN for gaining TP faster for some higher up mobs to help get off SCs off faster, /THF for higher dmg when needed with my trusty G.Axe...
Then there's the spilling of the blood of many many many monsters in this game with my very own hands...

RDM is definately my favourite, I'm currently a level fifty rdm, elvaan, in sandoria and on the Bismarck server. Been elvaan the mp isn't great but when you get refresh and all the gear to put mp up its great.
RDM is the best in my opinion
