Thanks to online career aptitude tests, a surprising amount of encouragement from my fiancé, and my intuition finally accepting it, I have decided to become a kindergarten/elementary school teacher. heart
And it's exciting, because I'm already brainstorming ways to get kids to be more conscious of nature and the environment, while teaching ninja
I is excited. whee

Ouu that sounds like fun! =]
I had a compost in most of my classes when I was a child.. it was really neat seeing all the food and crap break down.. and finding out how to do it. XD

See I didn't have anything like that as a kid... The closest we got to outside or nature-y things was growing bean plants in 6th grade to demonstrate control groups in an experiment.. But that only lasted a couple of weeks then the plants (and the plastic containers they were in) got thrown away.
Plus I absolutely adore small children, and I think having good teachers when you're young is important to establish that school and learning are good things.

I remember the whole class pet hamster thing... or pet gerbil, or pet rabbit... anyway, a class garden?
I envy you for finding your true calling. It's great that you're doing a little class planning already. Good luck!

So awesome! /late
It's definitely nice to have that this "something" is right for you.
We did the bean plants too. Did you have to make a maze for yours? (We put it in a box and made a bunch of walls so we could see it grow towards a hole with light in the top.)

I was "Farmer Miranda" as a camp counselor on a small organic farm. I taught kids 3-10 years old about agriculture, livestock, and gardening. I also helped with the adult classes (I was only 14 at the time) which were mainly baking, and homesteading classes.
Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs I've had. I'm very excited for you! biggrin

Can you link the site? I have tons of interests and no clue where to take them. If I was rich I'd just live on a farm and garden all day.
