In this thread, you may discuss the History of the world, if you wish to. Remember Histroy and Mythology are different, don't collide them.

Btw, these topics are not to be spammed(except for the talking thread), which means most posts should be kept on topic.

My History is not up to par, so if I say something incorrect bite me.

What's your opinion on this? Was everything that Stalin did really that bad? Yes, he was a cruel person but he did bring the economy of the USSR up alot in heavy industry. I actually think that his rule had some benefits for the USSR, which in turn may have lead them to become a World Power.

Not everything weas bad, no. At least, I don't think so. He did do quite a bit for the economy from what I can remember from last year. It was more the way he ran things that people didn't like.

[mode="Rant"]
To be blunt, saying Stalin was completly good for the USSR would be a blunt lie. He was just as good for the USSR as Hitler was for Germany. Sure, they did some nice things, but they weren't all that gental with the nation they were intrusted to. Sur, they both brought their nation out of the great depression at the time. Sure they delt with staggering economic, inusdtrial, and human problems from the end of World War I. But they also did alot of harm. For Hitler, he had germany WASTED from the Allied bombings. Even to today, there is not a complete number of lives lost during all of the bombing in WWII. Hitler also did the whole Halocoast thingy, which I'll get to at another time. Hilter wanted to make and use the nuclear bombs on high population targets, such as New York, Londan, Moscow. He also probably would have used chemical warfare on a massive scale, if we gave him time to do it. He bombed the crap out of London for the fun of it, basicly.

Stalin, while he may have not done so many fun things during the war, he did it before and after the war. Before the war, in the purges, he killed off eniter bloodlines, down to like the third and fourth removed. That's pretty brutal. He also stavred some 11 million plus people. Not just people that he conquered, but Ukriane people, from near where he came from. I believe Stalin was from Georgia((Sp?))(No, not the state). He killed them off, because he didn't like them. During the war, the USSR Red Army was so much of a miss match to the German Army, the SS, and the Panzer Divsions, that they were throwing troops into battle in the hundreds of thosands. In several battles, every other man got a rifle, the rest got one clip of ammo. The guy with the ammo was told to keep running till he could get a gun. IF you stopped, the officer behind him would shoot him. Yeah, not so pleasant.... Then, after the war, the gulags, the secret police. Hell, we'll probably never know what truely went on behind the Iron Curtian.

Yeah, they did some good, but at what cost? 6+ million people during the Halocost. More then that during WWII. 11+ million from starvation, and 22 million during the war. Tons of good. [/mode]

Yeah, there is some spelling mistakes in there, didn't want to run it through word and it is 10pm and I got like s**t sleep last night. Plus, Vicaden makes me hyper.... Oh, and there probably are some contradictions in there.... Point them out to me at like noon tommorrow, or something....

Stalin wasn't really bad. I heard from my textbook that he brought the Sovoet Union an industrial revolution that would've taken decades with a democratic government.

Isarde, Sun Shang Xiang was married to Liu Bei. Liu Bei had a son, Liu Biao. Xing Cai married Liu Biao, not Liu Bei.

Deidra, have you ever heard of the video game Dynasty Warriors? The video game is based upon the Three Kingdoms. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a romance novel which is based upon the true stories of Wei, Wu, and Shu; which are the Three Kingdoms themselves. It all took place around 200 A.D. after the Han Dynasty ended. The Three Kingdoms all wanted to take power of China, but in they all lost. Shu fell first, then Wei, and Wu lasted the longest, though Wu suffered through the most anguish.

Shu: Shu was founded by Liu Bei and his two sworn brothers, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Liu Bei sought to restore the Han Dynasty, and was a man with a heart of gold. Shu was the first kingdom to meet its end. Liu Bei's son, Liu Biao, was considered a very weak man. Because Liu Bei was so soft, he raised a son he wasn't capable of leading Shu. Liu Biao gave up Shu when one of the others kingdoms came for a battle.

Wu: Wu was created from the famous Sun family. The most known Suns was Sun Jian, the father of the two brother Sun Ce and Sun Quan, and the youngest and only daughter of the family Sun Shang Xiang. They were known for their tight family bonds. Sun Jian died, and the oldest son Sun Ce took the throne, but died of an illness after being scared to death by the ghost of a man he had wrongfully killed. Sun Shang Xiang was married to Liu Bei as a tie for peace between the two kingdoms. However, she realized that the married was just a ploy and told Liu Bei about it. He fled and she went back to Wu. During the time they had fallen in love. When Sun Shang Xiang heard about Liu Bei's death, she drowned herself in the Jiang Dong River. (I believe that's what it's called.) Wu was the last kingdom to go down.

Wei: Wei was the villain kingdom and was founded by the Cao family. They were cruel and ruled over their men in fear and wanted to take over China. They had the largest army, and had several men who were great warriors. Cao Cao is the father of Cao Pi. After Cao Cao died, Cao Pi took the throne are was considered even colder than his father had been and surpassed him. He ordered his wife, Zhen Ji, to commit suicide after she complained to him about how he favored his other wife over her. Cao Pi was the first emporer of Wei. Wei was the second kingdom to fall.

Lu Bu: Lu Bu isn't a kingdom, he was an extremely feared warrior who was said to have the strength of ten thousand men. He rode his horse, Red Hare, who was the fastest horse ever. Quote, "Among men, Lu Bu. Among horses, Red Hare." If someone saw Lu Bu on a battle field, you could consider yourself completely dead. Let me just say that he was so feared that when you saw him and you were on the other side, you could pretty much crap in your pants and run off like a complete coward.

There's a lot, lot, lot more, but I've already written enough.
