Hn, the poor.....squishy thing. Just what was it doing way out here? Sky hued eyes peered around the deserted beach before glancing back down at the creature before her. It was a sea star, though misshapen with an obviously large gap where its fifth limb should be. Perhaps the victim of a bird, or even one of the grouchy crabs known to live in the area. Either way, the squishy stood no chance being this far in the dry sand, and with the sun only lifting higher and warmer.
Sighing to herself, Milani'la sat back on her haunches as she debated her options. A free meal, nutritious though highly unfavorable in taste. Or a rescue waiting to be accomplished. Well she wasn't hungry, and spirits know she wasn't lazy either. So, with the carefree grace of most leopards, the femme disappeared in the treeline only to return with a large and waxy leaf. Perhaps this would be tool enough to relocate the sea star? She'd rather not touch the thing, to be honest...

Llyr had been brought up by the sea, he loved his home and had always found the best ways to be annoying. It seemed however he was growing up and of course growing up tends to mean maturing as well, something that he never thought would happen. He still loved to run along the beach and chase the waves and he was sure that part of him would never leave but he didn't seem so bothered about being a nuisance anymore. He had actually grown up somewhat.
Llyr knew everyone in the pride by sight, when he was younger he made it his mission to make sure he knew what everyone looked like so he would be able to scare off any intruders. It was just a game then but it came in handy now. At least he didn't have to ask stupid questions like where they came from and how long they had been here.
He had decided today meant a nice walk down the beach. After all didn't everyone want to stretch their legs once in a while? The large lion had a stupid smile on his face as he walked along the waters edge letting the waves lap at his paws. He noticed the leopard, who he had seen before. He always wondered why she was here, she was the only one of her kind and he always thought it to be rather lonely. His curiosity got the better of him though and so he wandered up towards her.
"Hey!"

Black ears pressed back while the leopardess kept her sight on the sea creature. She thought she could faintly hear a pitter-patter against the sand, a beat unlike the slush of waves. But she was too busy at the moment, her paws caught in a balancing act with the thick leaf and awkward sea star before her. It wasn't as easy as she had hoped, with the different textures of the two and the nearly dead weight of the creature, it was turning out to be a troublesome task.
That's when Milani'la gasped, and nearly dropped the leaf in surprise to the other pride member beside her. Since when had this lion appeared? Polishing the shock from her face, the leopardess gave a shy nod before glancing back at her work. ".....You had startled me. But hello." Her voice held no scolding or rudeness, simply distracted between her task and now an audience as well. Oh boy. The end of her heavy tail twitched as an anxious habit, something she herself was never aware of. "Did you need something?"

Llyr looked down at what the leopard was doing when he reached her and looked a little confused.
"No.. not really was just curious as to what you were doing.... erm what are you doing?" He looked down at the starfish and the leaf and then at the leopard. If she was trying to pick it up wouldn't it make sense to use her teeth? Maybe she didn't like fish? Nah she had to she lived by the sea!
"You could always eat it... they can be chewy but very yummy!" Llyr smiled, he would eat pretty much anything unless it made him sick afterwards but then that was just how he was.

Dark fur was thankfully dark enough to hide her flush of embarrassment at his question. Ugh, just what was she doing? Keeping her composure and avoiding the other lion's gaze, Milani'la tried to reply in an even voice. "I'm trying to return it to the sea." Then her eyes shined wide at his suggestion of a meal and the leopard's pelt bristled in a shudder.
"Nyh, I'd rather not. I've already tried before and....well, didn't much care for the texture." Then as a second thought, the lady covered the sea star gently with the leaf before finally peering at the other. "And I'm afraid if you're hungry this creature is not an option. Finder's keepers, yes?" Making that disclaimer known, she took a moment to measure with her eyes just how much distance was left to cross. And she herself was getting hungry for a midday meal. Sigh.

Llyr looked curiously at her and then laughed.
"So why don't you just pick it up? I can carry it down if you really want it back in the water." He thought it a little odd but then he wasn't going to argue with a lady, that would be rude and he didn't want to go doing that now did he?
"It would be easier then erm... using a leaf?" At least that's what he assumed she was using. Then again maybe she wasn't and he got it wrong, either way he wanted to be all gentleman like and help a lady out!
"I could catch you a fish after if you wanted?" He smiled widely. He thought his fishing skills were amazing but in truth they really weren't. He was awful at catching fish but at least he never stopped trying.

"Oh, can I trust you not to run away and eat it?" There was a tease in her tone, if only to cover her own disgruntlement. It wasn't her fault she managed things in a different manner from the pride. Besides, she was no longer a cub and thus shouldn't behave stingy about such a minor detail. So why did she care now?
Then again, it was easy to pinpoint why once the lion mentioned the word fish. Milani'la blinked to herself, just now remembering that she skipped a morning meal. No wonder she was so grouchy. Lifting a brow as if weighing the decision, the leopard glanced over at the lion. "It sounds like a kind offer. Too kind really, is there some catch?" Then she chuckled, meaning no harm by the interrogation. "Alright then, let's see how well you handle a situation, where the victim is squishy and...slimy." Eyes turned down to the waiting sea star.

Llyr just smiled, he didn't say anything at all and felt a little cocky about the whole situation. He knew he could get the starfish back in the water easily enough. He had played with them countless of times but actually fishing, that could end in fail.
He lowered his head and gently picked up the starfish which of course just hung limp from his mouth. They really didn't taste nice but he had a reasonably firm grip on it. He nodded to the leopard before turning and heading down towards the waters edge and laying the starfish down where the tide would take it away. He normally saw them by the rock pools so he was sure it wouldn't want to be taken further out.
"So you hungry?" He called to her. One job done, now to make a fool of himself.

Watching carefully as the male scooped up the creature, with admirable ease, the leopardess followed as they trailed to the calm shoreline. Surely the starfish would survive from there? Eh, it was a better hope than it had before, and the two felines had played their part. Dismissing her concern at last, Milani'la glanced over to the curly furred lion with her brow quirked. "I should say I am hungry. And I've rested well enough for a round of fishing. How about you?" A look to the waters brought a grumbling stir from her tummy, embarrassingly loud. Pinning ears, Milani'la feigned not hearing it at all as she stepped into the cool waters. Fish were always active in these parts, so it shouldn't be hard at all for the two to catch a decent meal.
Right?

Llyr just smiled as her stomach made a rather loud noise. He was hungry as well but he wasn't the best fisher in the world.
"Awesome, lets go fish!" He smiled at her as he walked along the shore a bit before entering the water. After all he didn't want to go and step on the star fish he had just put back in the water. It wouldn't be overly impressive if that happened now would it?
He could smell the fish, it was such a beautiful smell.
"There seems to be a lot of fish over here!" He then started jumping about and yes he looked completely stupid. He wanted the fish and he was doing his best to try and get them but he was rubbish to say the least.

(damn time flies!)
With her whiskers perked and sensitive to the sea breeze, the leopardess looked on as the waves brushed against them. It was a fairly calm day, so the supply of fish near the shore should be good. Now to decide what type of fish she should go after...if it was an option.
Milani'la lifted her ears and with a grin glanced at the other Bahari member. Is that how he normally fished for his meals? Why, she almost lost sight of him in all the white splashes he was kicking up in his antics. Thankfully she was far enough to not get soaked from the display.
"Heh, any luck there? I'm surprised they haven't all fled away by now."

Llyr wasn't aware of how stupid he looked nor how bad his fishing technique was, in his mind it made perfect sense!
"Nah they all confused see, it keeps them here!" He then shoved his head under the water to try and grab one instead he just got a mouthful of sea water which he quite happily spat out again. He wasn't really one for sea water, not in his mouth anyway!
After a few more attempts he managed to catch a fish, it was rather small and pitiful but it was a fish and he pranced back to the shore with it in his mouth.
"Look I got one!" He called as he placed the fish on the shore. He put a paw on it to stop it wriggling about and trying to get back into the water.

Walking tenderly across the water, the leopardess came closer to the other feline. Though she didn't know why she walked so cautiously, since the water was already in a chaotic frenzy. Perhaps his method did work, in some strange way, but it also would make the fisher tired as well. As for Milani'la, well....she liked to take things in stride and with some manner of grace. A female thing, most likely.
"Haha, it appears entertaining. Just don't choke on all that water." She'd hate to see him turn green in the face with illness. Turning her eyes down, she watched as all the fish streamed by, like an array of silvery ribbons. Sharpening her focus and urged by her own hunger, the leopardess soon dunked her own head below water. It was patience (and urge to get dry) that made her snatch up a quick and small meal.
Noticing that Llyr had already made it to shore, Milani'la followed with a shake of her fur as soon as she was out of the ocean. Hn, now she'd have that itchy salt feeling on her fur all day. 8c Placing her own fish on the ground, she nodded in reply. "Seems we both had a lucky catch today. Heh, though yours is putting up quite the fight there." Oops, she had bit hers a weee too hard for any more squirming.

Llyr was well aware his fish was still alive and for some reason he hadn't actually thought about killing it. Watching the leopard reach the shore ever so graciously was something he wasn't quite expecting, then again he wasn't sure what he had been expecting.
"huh, yeah..." He finally replied to her before leaning down and giving the fish a rather large bite. It was soon dead, that was for sure. It was some what pitiful though and would hardly even be a snack for a lion Llyr's size. Then again he wasn't a hunter for a good reason.
"Nice fish?" He asked, quite happily tucking in to his own. He hated how small fish bones were, the worst thing about them was getting those annoying bones stuck in ones throat!

Settling in the sand, the leopard began the bothersome task of eating her meal as well. The bones were such a hassle for such a meager-sized creature. But she supposed the health benefits were worth the task; she always seemed more energized after a sea meal. Casting a quiet glance to the lion, Milanila tilted her head to his comment. "I suppose. It does get the job done, for now." And she continued to pick idly at her food. "So how long have you been among the Bahari, Llyr?"
