Misery Loves It's Company

I wish I could be the one,
the one who won't care at all

But being the one on the stand,
I know the way to go, no one's guiding me.

When time soaked with blood turns its back,

It had been many moons since Blood's world was turned on its head, Carmine, his precious princess. Gone from his life forever. Yet another scar across the heart of the handsome stallion. He wondered across the land late at night, when the rest of his herd was fast asleep. A rumbling could be heard, the weather seemed to fit his move. One hoof after another he wondered futher into the darkness. The moment she left him repeating in his head over and over. Why did it pain him so? why is it whenever his heart flew it was always shot down. In such cruel ways. His Carmine, his princess. No more. He sighed and shook his head, he would break the next thing he saw. He let out a small growl stamping his hoof against the flaw in fustration. Was it too much to ask... to be loved?

After the night she had with Boris, his thoughts had been right and the confusion had come back to them, she was wandering again more aimlessly than before. Her mind felt weak and betrayed and her legs were wobbly and uneven in pace from her spacing out in to thought rather than the graceful steps her usual self took to impress. She sighed trying to clip everything together she was starting to believe she was becoming forgetful like an old lady.

Some of the others had followed her to this land, like he had. It wouldn't be a surprise if another encounter soon became a reality. It was all plotted and brought together after all.

She kept going through the darkness hearing the screams sound from the black sky above. How depressing. Even the weather wanted to make her feel miserable. She had her eyes to the floor a lot of the way her head lower more than usual. feeling more lost than when she started.

What else could happen to makes Blood's current situation worse? he had been robbed and dumped in the cruelest way. Elliott had tried his best to cheer him up, however nothing seemed to have worked so far. Now on his walk which was meant to clear his mind he bumped into something that he was really not expecting, What she SHE doing here? he snorted slightly. What a vulger time.Come on Blood. Put on a smile, forget about the past. It was time to play a game. It was time to be free once and for all. How could he expect anything more than this heartbreak when his heart was still caught up in a thick plot. Freedom could be his soon enough. He took a deep breathe in and wondered towards the dark mare, a small smirk coming to his lips. His masicistic thoughts would have to wait for now. "Well well, its a little late for a lady to wonder?" he stated, his hat shadowing his eyes.

Sometimes she wondered if these things were planned and designed in a special way to torture her. With her head lowered and her head in a differen't world to theirs she had managed to bump into something which was completely expected but when she raised her puppy dog eyes with self pitty glistening in the dull life of them she didn't find what it was expected to be like a tree or something, it was a stallion; a very familiar one. Blood Dupre. IT WOULD OF HAD TO HAVE BEEN HIM OF ALL OF THEM? So early on, why? She thought she would have time to think about this but obviously that wasn't the deal in this game.

He was the one she had got attached to, personally and physically. She gulped, a knot of guilt forming again each one she suffered was more unique and more painful than the last. Her ears fell back and she blushed, taking in how handsome he was and how more so than back then.
"I'd say the same thing about you." She stated, raising an eyebrow at such casual words. God knows what he had hidden up his sleeve.

"I am not a lady, more so the night should be more scared of me, then I should be of the night." He smriked, his words echoing one after another in a riddling way. Wondering in and outof the trees. The stars in the sky shinning down upon then, in almost a romantic way. He remembered his depart from heartland. When his father moved the herd into hatters hole. A lot had gone on since then. Since Dice sent the would into chaos his father had passed and he was now in control of the mafia herd, recruiting many new memebers to the rankings. "So, how has the world treated you?" he asked with a small smile, a blue eye shining from the shadow of his hat.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Dice eyed him, her ears falling back into place, up right as she concentrated more on his riddle and his words than being down. He looked sinister in a way and made her step backwards and tilt her head cautiously. That was one thing she could remember clearly. Memories of the forest had not been kind ones and she had learned a lot about the different kinds of soquili from a fellow herd member. She knew he would only want one thing from her; he wanted to win. She however inside was dismissing the faults and was becoming blinded, her previous attraction returning to her, just like it had the night before.

He sparkled in the starlight as it danced a long his ivory coat and built structure. She moved her gaze to the side not knowing if she should let him on to what had gone on so far. She would just have to pretend everything was ok and that she didn't miss him at all... Even though she had, a hell of a lot but in truth she had missed them all.

"It's done it's best sweetie, would be over flowing with joy if it was any better." She lied flat out and broke before rolling her eyes back to his daunting gaze. Refusing to be intimidated. "What about you..?"

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

"Me? as well as anyone could hope." He replied, now Blood was a gambler, he loved to make bets and play games of chance and bluff, from his constant participation in these games he could tell when someone was telling him prorkie pies. A smirk grew onto his face, she was usually much harder to predict than that. "Hmm your lips says that however your eyes say different." He stated approaching her a little closer, coming out of the trees which he was weaving in and out once before. He stopped when he was right infront of her. Leaning down with a confedent smile. "Why? whats really ben going on?" he asked with the prideful tone that he was known for. He knew her too well, after all the spies and the stalkers and the not fully legal activities he set into place to earn her in and out, he knew her better than most. From their meetings he learned what to say, to win her over. Or so he hoped.

Dice stayed in her spot as he grew closer and tracked the distance they had. That was her safety and now it was tarnished. He was so close she could feel his breath and it made her shiver, her eye were still pinned to his blue one and she was speechless. It took her a moment to grasp the situation. Right. She had been through this before. Lies didn't work with Blood, he could see straight through them, he was the master of gossip when he wanted to be. She nodded, the only thing that she could bring herself to do as the warmth rised to her cheeks and she took a step closer so she wasn't far from touching his muzzle. She wanted them back, she wanted the company, the attention... Everything.

"I left because you wouldn't give me a choice. You were a mad man." She whispered. "Here, sure I've missed you. I don't know why, it's probably the games fault and it has been less than kind. Everything looked back on track until Boris showed up." She decided to mention him after all, knowing all too well the competition between them two especially was strong.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Blood let out a laugh, a loud overpowering one. A mad man? oh that was the the most truthful thing he had heard all day! ofcause he was mad! who would not go insane? he was a mafia boss for God's sake - that in itself was madness. "Im mad, your mad, this whole world is as nutty as hell." He smirked, looking down at her once again. That damn cat! he was here! in HIS lands? something in his eyes seemed to break for a moment, before returning their usual glimmer. Oh, he would have to fix that. He shook his head and began to pase around her, like a hawlk stalking his dinner. The game... what did she know about the game? she had only been playing a short time, however it controlled his life. Insanity was a escape from it. "Hmm. I see, you ran away from me? well I am sorry to inconvinience you with my presence." He stated, looking up at the gentle rays that where glittering down. "I have missed you too." He added. A single star glidding its way, shooting across the sky.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Dice felt even more guilty now. She pouted, right make her feel like the bad guy! She turned her body around to where he was circling her like a shark, to see his head lifted to the sky to watch the starlight. It reflected in his eyes. He really was handsome, anyone could see that but it meant more to her than anyone else. He said he missed her. She could cry if it wouldn't be frowned on, she had to hold herself back a lot around Blood because she didn't understand what was real or not to him, she knew sometimes in the past when she had spent more than enough time around him but that familiarity had begun to fade and she was finding it hard to interpret this time... She would just have to be herself. If it was possible. She slowly walked over to him, stopping him in his tracks as she brought her gaze up from the floor and let her neck touch against his. She didn't say anything hearing that he missed her was enough to her ears. The sadness in her eyes were sent to the sky in the star ocean above.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Blood looked down at her as she wondered over to lay her head by his side, his eyes moving but the rest of his frame staying still, a small smile coming onto his face. Then he realised, this was the first time in weeks that his mind was not on the crimson theif. His inner self laughed, at least one good thing had come out today. As always Blood was never lost for words, however he knew when none were needed. His mind drifted to that bothersome cat. He had a chance to win this game, however that cat was only going to make his life hard. He would have to deal with the furry creature. He had tried many times before, however this time he was going to make sure he was not left breathing at the end of it, his eyes flashed red before he looked back down at her, the obvious rumbles of thunder in the distance getting louder. "Hmm, maybe heading for shelter would be wise." He suggested with a small smile before heading back down the path he came. "To Hatters Hole!" he called. His home was not too far away, it was sure to impress her. It mad the Mansion look like a commeners home.

Dice was still quiet, collecting the feelings and the embraces she had missed so much and putting them into a secret treasure box in her mind. She watched him and could have shattered when he pulled away. She always wanted to be near them, to touch them, to know they were there for her because they had showed so much care, shared so much laughter with her and most of her memories was of them and a lot of them of Blood and Boris. She had no idea that she would be getting her overly-friendly pink and black lover would be targeted and put in danger just because of her words but it was what was expected. She knew everything was just going to repeat itself. It was all the Heartland was doomed for. To destroy each others existence and then let the next game players spring to life with Julius' clocks. She nodded, wincing at the thunder and trot quickly after him, trailing behind but kept close to his side in a way. Hatters hole? She thought. She had never heard that before. "Is that where you have set down camp?" reluctant, she asked anyway and looked to the distance ahead, anxious to see what his new home resided of.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

"It is where my herd is now based. Indeed." He nodded, Hatters Hole was just as it sounded, a huge hole that seemed to come out of no where in the middle of the Earth, almost impossible to get down to for those without wings or those who knew about the one secret path that you had to go down to reach the valley bellow. He lead her down the path into the back of the cave which was his personal quarters. No one besides his special guests where allowed in this place. It had a hotspring and all the ground and walls were bursting with treaure, from gold to silk, from places all over the world. His private collection. What he had gathered as he worked. "Welcome my dear, to Hatters Hole!" he stated in a grand way, smiling as he turned to face her, a hole in the roof letting light down into the cave room. This was only one part, his little home. However the whole valley was his herds land.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Dice made a note of the path they had taken to get to his little head quaters. He was here, living with a herd in the Kawani lands, she was curious if she was the reason why or if it was something else that caused him to move on. Whatever was on her mind fled with ease when she entered his chambre and the walls were decorated in beautiful treasures, she was awe struck, her eyes scanning with an open mouth, gaped at such glamour. Blood Dupre definitely knew how to live and if this was only a small piece of it, what would the rest be like? It was hard to imagine anything could be more amazing than the mansion his home was based around before with the most gorgeous rose garden in the entire world in it's back yard. She missed her nights out with him there.

Turning her crystal blue eyes to his own a smile greeting her and welcoming her to his new world she chuckled cutely and couldn't help but smile sweetly back. Had he changed? Or was this just his skills of charm wearing off in his favor? for now, she didn't care she would have to accept it because if she didn't and she let on to him about the new herd she had also become apart of, they would be in danger too. "Blood, it's more beautiful than anything I have ever seen." It was indeed deserving of such compliments an understatement to the measures it topped hands down.

Still one question played and she walked closer towards him as his coat shone brightly in the dim light, making him look as if he was a star of the spotlight. His hat very fitting to such a thing. "Please, tell me something..." She asked softly, flashing him an innocent look. "Why did you move your herd here? To the Kawani..?" She never let her gaze drop from his own. "I would of thought because you followed me but something tells me that wasn't just the case. What happened to you Blood?"

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Blood looked back at her, wondering, should he tell her the truth? "Well, you are apart right, after you left I sunk into what some would call a depression. So my father decided it best for me to move on to these lands. I went searching, even though my trip came to no fruit it did help me settle the shadows with my mind to move back with my herd and my father. However when I returned." He stopped for a moment, looking to the side slightly like the words got stuck in his throat and did not follow the elegant nature they usually did. However he closed his eyes and took a deep breathe they once again flowed like silk from his lips. "Ahem."

"When I returned I was met at the borders by the guard. My father had gotten sick whilst I was away. So I ran back to see him, however my hooves failed me, he passed minuets before I reached the mansion." He started, his hooves carrying him across the room. "It had been lingering for a while now his illness, however it had been tame, I thought that he would have had more time, I do not know what made it turn so violent, worry, stress or maybe it was just his time. After that I came to lead the herd. Overnight almost. I found my home too painful to linger around. So I left with the others to come here, a place I found whilst I was looking for you. This has been my life since." He ended with a small bow of his head, putting his hat on the side, he found it rude to wear it indoors.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Her heart dropped. She felt as if she was choking on thin air it was that thick with the fact that it was all partially her fault. How could she do that to him? She had been so selfish, she thought it was the best thing to do... Apparently only for herself and even that had resulted into being a waste of time - or was it? She had made their lives miserable it had made hers hard to cope with too. Dice's eyes filled with water as he moved to tip his hat off letting him be their guide to his paces.

There was one thing for certain. That was the truth. His actions and the moarning was clear. "I-i'm so sorry..." She quietly spoke but knew that was nothing compared to what had come of the consequences. He had even come looking, did he really care so much? Even now? What else had he done in these lands?

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

"Ashes to Ashes. Its all in the wind now. I do miss my roses though. I wonder how they have bloomed this year." He stated, trying to move on from the conversation, not wanting to look at her sad eyes, he did not like it when she was upset not at all. God help her if he told her about Carmine too. Maybe a story for another day. He did miss he father. However he had to remain strong for his herd, he never shed a tear or felt like the world hated him. He had to take it in his stride and move on, burrying himself in the life he now led meant he did not think about it too much. He was a Mafia Boss now. His work was his life in a way, as were his loyal subjects. He had not thought about that day for a long time, he did not like to think about it. He put a smile on his face and looked up at the ays of moonlight which ran down into his den. Rain pouring from the hole in the roof. He wondered to a side room in the cave, layered with cloth and more comfortable surfaces. He laid down and looked over at her. "Thats enough for one night, how about we get some rest?"

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Dice continued to watch him, his movement always so graceful and well played. It all came naturally to him. Something to be envious of. He had never done wrong in a sense, he caused trouble over her but had never really been cruel to her, just a little... Overpowering and that was a likable quality. It made her feel special. So now she wondered why she had bothered with the hassle. He was strong unlike her, the pressure had caused her to cave but now she had grown a little, handling it easier with every knew situation with it's obstacles. Their meeting had even shared it tears.

When he moved into a sideroom she slowly followed him to the entrance and looked at all the comfortable fabrics he had laid down on. He had good tatse. She cast him a warm smile, her tears pushed away for another rainy day, then nodded a faint blush forming on her cheeks. She lowered next to him, brushing close to his side as her cheek rubbed upwards on his neck and to his own cheek. Closing her eyes.

"I always thought it was just what you were meant to say. Like it had a chain and it was repeated but now... I think I know somewhere it actually does come from the heart. It doesn't just come from the game." She paused, ears falling flat. "If I had known, or could go back. I would of stayed... I would of helped you as much as I could. I care about you a lot Blood." She whispered.

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

No one could have helped him, had he been there or away his father would have still died, except he would still be in that land haunted by the same ghosts that had haunted him for a lifetime. Her leaving had made him grow, he had even sufferered his fair share of heartache, however he had learned from it, he scare away Carmine, he let his love blind him. He was not going to let himself do the sameto Dice. However he was not going to let the game get the better of him, he wanted to control his own future and even though his feelings were strong he would not show them until he was sure. Until he knew this is what was right. Rushing into things blindly had scared her away the first time afterall. He closed his eyes and rested his head against the ground. A warm smile on his face.

"Sweet Dreams Dice." He mumbled quietly. He knew she would have wanted to help, however in some way he was glad the cards played out like they had, after all she was still here was she not?

׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×

Dice opened her eyes to look at him, he laid his head down a warm smile on his face which she was flattered by to say the least. If he would allow it, she would ask tomorrow to stay with him a while, for them to sort their feelings out over a period of time. They were all confused and she knew it would help them both and it would be better for those included.

With a small nod, even though he was ready to sleep she understood and also lowered her head, closing her eyes to let the darkness take her away to dream land. "You too, Blood~" She uttered. Sleep taking affect not long after her midnight farewell.
