Little Boys Just Never Know What to Say to Little Girls[[under constuction]]

"Wimp!... You're a damn wimp!!" Lal' jeered himself as loud as he dared. The sun had already collapsed sometime ago, leaving the aging night and the rooms of his home to an erie silence. The rowdy boy flung his head onto his bed in an awkward attempt to voilently snap himself out of cowardice reluctance. He sat as calmly as the rabid thumping of his chest would allow. His room became warmer. Lal' jittered in his chair, which was crudely scraped of it's shody paint job, setting pen to the paper placed upon an old wooden tray table. He knew exactly what he wanted to say, but tried to mask them behind words he barely knew. His font was chicken scratch, purposely encrypted. The evening crept upon him as he completed the vague declaration. He had set out to complete the letter, but the actual act of delivering it to it's recipient would be a stretch of his courage. Lal' laid in his bed, stared at the ceiling , and let the sweet serenade of Lani's voice ease him into a slumber.

"Hey Lal'!"
"You're crazy!"
"I want you to write me a note"
"I want you to write me a note"
"...write me a note"
"...write me a note"
"....write me a note"

It was inevitable. The burning orb mocked him during it's ascent. The pit of the boy's stomache became a sinking mush of anticipation, remorse, fear, hope, and despair. At the back of his head he hoped some extraordinary circumstance would be his excuse to opt out of the task. Despite his infidel thoughts, Lal' triple check his backpack for the presence of the letter. There in the smallest pouch, he placed it among random papers. Then almost immediately he retrieved it and added an extra procaution on the back to detter any destruction of his toil. And as he trudged his way to the bus that would take him to school, where he would have to confront Lani, it became increasingly apparent that there would be no out.
His stomache continued sinking into itself and the open window of the bus didn't help with the cool breeze wisping about. All he could do to endure was rest his head on the bottom pane.

At school, time elapsed in a drowsy rythme: English, English, math, lunch, health. The hours slid by in an inconsistent manner and in each period he wrestled his inhibitions. Then came the final hour. The time of reconing. Lal' entered his 8th period science class, whether he was ready for the encounter was unknown, even to him. He plopped his head upon the desk and bundled himself in his jacket to combat the chill of the room. The boy raised his head every so often to peer around the room for the girl. When Lani entered the room, he was unsure of, but when she did class carried on as it always had. The instructor explained the day's agenda and distributed a packet of worksheets the students would never complete or attempt to complete.
