[PRP] Play with me! (Nkiruka x Sebahive) [FIN]

It was one of those rare times when they were allowed to leave the den. Naturally, they didn't get to stray very far, but it was okay; at least it wasn't that cramped, compact space that was staring to get quite boring. Nkiruka, the eldest and darkest of the siblings, was amusing herself by rolling around in the grass, stumbling and tumbling around in an entirely ungraceful but completely fun way. Oh, the grass, the fresh air! She loved it...this was the life.

Finally she stopped in her rolling, laying flat on her belly with her limbs sprawled out awkwardly. Looking around, she perked her ears and focused on the first sibling she saw; Sebahive. He had a lot of nice, paler colours on him; she was mildly jealous, but that wouldn't stop her today; she had way too much energy. Crawling to her feet, she trotted over and lightly headbutted at his shoulder.

"Brotheeeeer...Let's play!" She urged, lightly pawing at him with another affectionate little headbutt.

Blue paws splayed out in front of him, Sebahive opened his mouth wide as he let out a squeaky yawn and stretched out his legs. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his siblings around him, exploring and playing in their new found freedom. It was something he, himself, should probably be doing, but he was tired. He'd woken with a headache in the middle of the night, and it kept him awake for a little while. Thankfully, it had gone away as morning came, but he still wished it had not came in the first place.

'Aw, well. At least it's gone now,' he thought.

The cub let out a sigh and pushed himself up to his feet. This was a rare occasion; he should be enjoying it with his siblings! So, with that in mind, he turned his head back to them-

And jumped when he felt something bump against his shoulder. Blinking, he craned his head around to see his sister, Nkiruka, standing next to him. He felt himself wobble slightly with each of her headbutts, before her words finally registered in his brain.

"Oh! Uh...." Well, he had just decided to enjoy the day. ".. 'Kay." With that, he swished his paw up and gently cuffed at the tip of her ear.

Like the little pest she fully intended on being, Ruka nudged her brother until he both acknowledged her and then agreed to play. Most of her siblings were staying pretty close to the den entrance, and besides, Mother was nearby; they would be safe, she could take a break from being the Big sister and just enjoy herself!

The little cuff made her stumble a bit in a rather futile attempt to avoid it, and after letting out a squeaking battle cry that sounded supiciously like a giggle, Ruka moved to pounce on him. Or, at least she tried to, anyway. She was trying to push him over to pin him, but as always was going about it in a rather clumsy manner. On occasion she nipped at him; his cheek, his ear, his shoulder, tail...anything she could easily reach, anyway.

"Oh Hey hey...I gotta question for ya, Sebby!" Telling him this didn't have her stop her little attempt at pinning, but it did distract her from it easier.

Sebahive huffed as his sister's body weight pushed against him in an attempt at pinning him into the ground. Thankfully, she was not succeeding at doing so, because it would have been a very short play fight if she had, and he was sure at least one of his siblings would tease him for it... probably Nkiruka and Unzi.

Growling lightly under his breathe, he shoved back at her, trying to turn the tables in his favor. He ignored the nipping, for the most part, and took a few swipes of his paw at her mouth.

What she said made him pause briefly, enough so that he ended up toppling over and taking them both down, "Oof!" Quickly, he managed to roll himself back around and down into a crouching position, his backside in the air while his front was flat on the ground. "And what's that?"

Ruka squeaked when Sebahive stumbled, rolling with him to the ground. For a moment she laid there on her back, staring blankly at the sky above her, but eventually she shook her head with a laugh, twisting onto her stomach and taking a small pounce to be closer to him, crouching her front shoulders and head close to the ground, her rear in the air as well.

"Wassat you that was up last night?" She asked flat out, a grin on her features. The dark cub was leaping from side to side, clumsily trying to psyche him out for when she would pounce next; really, all she needed was a good look at his side! Once she had that, she'd feel comfortable pouncing at him again.

"'Cause I thought I heard somethin, and you look real tired." She explained, torn between sounding worried and giggling in amusement, taking a few playful swipes at him.

The little white cub eyed Ruka as she hopped back and forth around him. He tensed whenever she got too close, his tail flicking in little circles behind him.

Seb blinked at her words. He had not realized that anyone else was awake last night, but he supposed that he shouldn't have just assumed that. Mentally shaking his head, he hummed back at her. "Yeah, I guess it was me you heard." He pivoted forward a few steps, swiping at her twice before retreating again. "I.. couldn't sle-"

He yelped as he accidentally tripped over his back feet, flopping into a sitting position, before scrambling back up and righting himself before his sister could pounce him again.

Ruka gasped and scampered backwards as he swiped at her, managing to dodge one but not the other. Shaking her head free of the swat, the dark cub lurched forward in an attempt to pounce on her retreating Brother...but when he yelped and fell back, she missed him entirely. Instead of Seb's softer body, Ruka hit the ground with a surprised cry, unable to put her paws out to stop herself in time.

"Oof!" She grunted, laying sprawled out on the ground for a moment or two, then pawing at her own face. Then, with a giggle, she shifted her weight and rolled forward, somersaulting onto her back hard enough to kick up some loose dirt. "Aww, poor Sebby! You okay?" She asked in an honestly concerned voice, still laying on her back, her tail flicking from side to side and her back paws kicking and pawing at him.

Sebahive blinked quickly, briefly wondering what had caused him to trip, and then turned his attention back to his sister just in time to see her land on her back. He sneezed as a puff of dirt tickled his nose, before glancing down at her. "Sorry 'bout that." Putting his weight back on his hind legs, he reached his paws up and started swiping at Nkiruka's kicking appendages, batting them away whenever they got too close.

Hearing her concern, he thought back to last night. At the time, it had hurt. It felt like someone was throwing around his head, but it was not horrible enough for him to bother his family with, hence why he hadn't woken their mother about it, and it did go away. So there was no reason for him to worry any of them.

That in mind, he nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. It was nothing."

Seb tensed himself, then shot forward and pounced on Ruka's tail, pinning it and lightly gnawing on the black fluff, his own tail waving playfully behind him.

"Pffft, Sorry fer what?" Nkiruka giggled, kicking with her back paws a little harder everytime he tried to wipe at them. Getting hit wasn't bad; it was all in good fun! Besides, it wasn't like they were using claws! Seb's nod and words were something she wanted to hear, but at the same time, she had the strangest feeling that it wasn't nothing...

But! It was a fleeting thought. Seb said it was nothing, it was nothing! "Oh...well, if y'say so! You can wake me up next time if ya wanna, its'okay." She really wanted to help! Besides, it sucked being awake by yourself. Her jaws opened in another smile, about to say something more; instead, she squealed in surprise and rolled onto her stomach. Gah, he had her tail! He wasn't letting go, either! Not faaaair! Pulling herself up, she pressed her dark paws against his pale cheeks, clinging to his head and gnawing on his little black tuft, or lightly pulling on his ears.

Suddenly, she stopped gnawing on him, instead using him as leverage to lift herself up a bit, her ears perked and her paws on his head. Something caught her attention, and she was intently looking for it...

Feeling the tugs against his ears and the black fuzz on his head, Sebahive growled, but he refused to let go. He would lose the edge he had gained if he did. So instead, he curled himself in, covering his catch with the front half of his body. Then, now in a playful mood, he gave a long lick at the puff of fur at the end of her tail, and backwards too, for good measure, causing it to stick up in odd angles.

Normally, he was not this mischievous. In fact, it had been a couple days since he had had a honest-to-god play fight with one of his siblings. Usually he hung back and just watched, but the distraction from his exhaustion was welcomed, and even if he felt out of character, at least he was having fun.

This would probably be one of the few times he would truly let go like this. Not that he would realize that until he was older.

Seb grunted in surprise when he suddenly felt Ruka pushing against him, and was then confused when he realized that a counter attack wasn't coming. Shifting himself over, but not letting go of her tail, he glanced up to see that her attention had been pulled elsewhere. Blinking, he turned gray eyes around to see what she was looking at.

Ruka yowled mournfully at Seb when he licked her fur the wrong way; it was one of the many things she fully intended on getting back at him for...until the noise distracted her. She stared hard into the bush, ears perked as she listened intently to the rustling in the bushes. It was much to small sounding to be their Mother, or even a sibling...

"Hear that?" She whispered low to her brother, glancing between him and the bush. Soon, the noise faded. "Huh...it's gone...Oh well!" Growling playfully, she hugged Seb's head tightly, licking his face from the tip of his nose through the tuft of hair on his head; backwards for good measure, just like he'd done to her.

Sebahive blinked, staring off into the direction she said the noise came from. Now that he was actually paying attention, he could hear something moving, but it sounded really small and unnoticeable. He wondered how it managed to catch Ruka's focus in the first place.

However, he didn't have time to continue questioning that.

Apparently, it was enough of a diversion that he had not realized that he had let his guard down. So it came as a surprise to him when he suddenly felt his head get grabbed and the long lick across his face that followed.

Letting out a similar yowl to his sister's, his mouth let go of the tail fluff and the white cub scrunched up his face in discomfort. Trying to keep one paw on her tail still, he used the other to start wiping at the fur on his face.

Ruka giggled when he yowled, flicking her tail to try in vain to get him to let it go. When it seemed he wouldn't, she just stared down at him as he tried to fix the messed up fur on his face. She'd been about to lick it when that noise came again, this time much louder, and sounding much closer. With a little cry she gripped onto Sebahive's head just a little tighter, her gray eyes wide as she stared into the bush.

"There it is again!" She cried out, looking away from the bushes to look for their Mother, their siblings; they were a little too far away, and their Mother was preoccupied with something else. Biting her tongue a little bit, Ruka shakily got off her brother, and despite his being on her tail, she crouched down in a position that suggested she was thinking of pouncing on whatever creature it was that was so close by.

"What should we do?" She whispered to her brother, trying her best to keep her voice straight while she looked into the dense bush.

Sebahive harrumphed, disgruntled at the backwards feeling his fur made, and in the back of his mind, he vowed revenge for this. Finally, he felt his fur settle back to the way it was before, albeit a tiny bit damp, and he narrowed his eyes up at Ruka.

Before he could get retaliate, the white cub grunted as his head was gripped tighter. At first, he thought his sister was about to do something else to try and make him loosen his grip on his prize - 'Not a chance!' - but then his ears perked up at her words. Glancing back and forth between Nkiruka and the bushes, he wondered if perhaps she was just trying to trick him. A very real possibility, all things considered, but when she got off him, he frowned and focused his attention towards the noise.

Keeping a paw on her tail just in case, Seb sat up straight and tilted his head to the side. He gave a few sniffs in its direction, but couldn't really distinguish anything from where he was. "... Dunno." He hummed uncertainly, "It could just be a mouse, or a bird... or something. Maybe we should just leave it alone."

Nkiruka really WASN'T trying to trick him. For once. But all things considered, it made sense that he would come to that conclusion. Puffing out her little cheeks, she surveyed the area, ears still perked to listen for the noise that seemed to keep getting her attention. Yes, they should probably leave it alone. Mama was so far away though! She was adventurous, but not THAT adventurous yet. Besides, she had Sebahive here to worry about.

"Hmmph..." She whined out as she shifted uncomfortably, both from uncertainty and from the weird feel of his paw on her tail. "I...think we should go back to Mama now." The dark one suggested, twitching her tail to try and get it out from under his paw. This noise was...really starting to worry her. Her little heart was pounding!
