Okay guys! Remember how I was going to shoot a wedding for my friend earlier? Well, that went down the drain, but here I go again with another bride and groom who want me to shoot their wedding!

Problems: The bride doesn't know what she wants, it is inside with nothing but florescent lighting, super cramped spaces, FUGLY background inside where the wedding will be held, they want to dim the already gross lites during the ceremony, there is another photographer working the wedding who is COMPLETELY uncooperative.

The mom seems to know what she is doing and is doing most of the planning for the wedding. She is going to have me follow around the bride and her brides maids taking pictures before the wedding, and between the wedding and the reception I am going with the wedding party to a near by park to take pictures of the group. So far, that is all I know. The park we are going to is HUGE and we haven't scouted out a location for the pictures yet, and both inside and outside of the place they are getting merried (A youth recreation center btw) are ugly as sin. I don't know what I got myself into, and I need a little help! Any suggestions would be great!

Other photographers are almost always going to be uncooperative. Especially when you're dealing with weddings. But they have their reasons, maybe their unhappy with you hornin' in on "their" wedding. Or maybe they just don't want to help you because they don't want to have to deal with someone bugging them the entire wedding when they have work to do, etc etc.

*Not sure what the big problem is but lets see, it doesn't matter what the bride wants usually. Just take nice portraits, make sure your focus is good, don't take crap photos for her wedding.

*Whats the problem with the lighting? Just use a gray card or even just a white wall to set your white balance.

*It's a wedding, you should have a fast lens that's somewhat of a wider angle. You should NOT just be shooting with a telephoto, at least until you get better smile

*You're always going to need a fast lens, no matter what. If you don't have a lens that can shoot, wide open, at 2.8, 1.8, or faster.. You might be in for some trouble. Sure you can turn up the iso but that can only get you so far. And you won't always be able to get prints that clients want at really high iso's.

There's no secret to wedding photography. Just go, shoot, be exhausted from standing and taking photos the entire time of the wedding the next day, and then work on the pictures. Woo!

I remember the first wedding I did, I didn't even get paid for it and I was soooo tired too, but then again I did get there early. I was there from 9am and I didnt even get home until 10pm.

And depending on the wedding, be ready to be moving around a lot, or spend quite a bit of time sitting around being bored trying to think "What the heck can I do now?!".

Thanks Cilayin!

I've got a good lens that I was going to use, and the lighting shouldn't be to big of a deal. I convinced them to leave the lites on.

The other guy that is doing photography hasn't even been shooting for a year! He was asking me for advice. @_@;;
