Her maw stretched open, showing small yet pointed teeth that glimmered in the morning sunlight that streamed through the den's entrance. Ficha blinked her blood-red eyes, glancing around herself sleepily, finding herself nestled in between many of her other siblings. Ugh - they were far too close for comfort. Whilst when they were falling asleep, late at night, the warmth of many bodies was inviting, waking up to such a sickly sweet sight made the young lioness want to gag.

She didn't take any care as she stood and exited the den - she was sure she kicked one of her siblings, and stood on another's paws. They were all far too lazy, enjoyed their sleep too much - another thing to add to her growing list. To be fair, it was very early morning. The sun was only just rising over the horizon, the morning creeping up on the Mizimu'Tungika lands. Ficha'pepo prefered the mornings - your mind was fresh and ready for the day. Thoughts of sleep were no longer in your head, and you were most prepared for the day ahead. Making her way over to the kill from the night before, she tore off one of the pieces of meat still dangling from the carcass. She was a small lioness - not because of lack of food, simply because of genetics. Some called her the runt - Ficha vehemently denied any such accusations, and the accusors usually found themselves on the wrong side of her claws.

Chewing the piece of meat thoughtfully, she made her way to a nearby rock, clambering up onto it with a little difficulty. She eventually made it, however, and cast her gaze across the land before her - the lands that would be hers, in the future. The heir hadn't been nominated yet, and at this very moment in time Ficha was fairly certain she wasn't in the running. But she had plans that would soon be set in motion.

Her father wouldn't be able to ignore her any longer.

They were given the best spoils for nourishment from their father, they were given as much milk as they wanted (despite it being from their reluctant slave of a cousin), and in return, the cubs kept to their strict schedule of training and knew their place well within the lands.

Eleven cubs that were set loose upon the lands with a very promising purpose did well to set the competitive yet hopeful atmosphere.

Two cubs from the bunch laid next to each other, and from a single glance one could think that they were mirror images of each other. But at closer glance, the subtle brighter marks of one could be observed, marking the difference of the identical twins. They were close, and so kept to each other quite often, yet not so much to give the other siblings less... mutual affection. Regardless, Uhodari was spending his early morning much like any other - next to his twin, at peace...

Until of course, the kick to his side invited a groan of pain (though it was more surprising than painful), and the small twin cub immediately opened his eyes to see a small shape move out from their den. He blinked, looking back at Usharifu, who still had his eyes closed despite the abrupt physical encounter. Uhodari blinked a few times more until he could clearly see the markings against his twin, and then his other siblings, and recognize them for who they were.

Ficha'pepo was missing; that he rapidly deduced. Curious, he made his way out the same path without bothering where the other cubs laid, and soon saw their leftover, and a rather poetic younger sister sitting solidly on a rock. It wasn't much of a difference than had she been on the ground, but her size wouldn't have allowed for her to climb something larger (and he experienced most, but not all, of the same difficulties, having apparently missed out on their father's mass inheritance).

"Ficha'pepo. Did you come out here just to eat?" Uhodari inquired soon after he saw her, making the final strides to reach the bottom of his sister's rock.

He then sat down next to it, looking where Ficha'pepo was turned. Their den entrance offered a fairly vast and almost complete view of the lands, but not all, for their lands were quite big in itself. Most others, even the adults, were still sleeping in the cold, still morning air. He breathed out harshly and skeptically, unable to see what interest or insight Ficha'pepo gathered from this sight.

The young lioness watched the sun as it rose higher and higher, a great ball of fire in the sky. A thought crossed her mind - was it possible to control the sun? To tame it and make it your own? ...Had any lion ever tried? She'd been told of Gods and higher beings, and she wondered briefly it they might be able to. Perhaps she'd ask, if she ever met one. She'd been informed by several sources that her father had met more than one deity in his lifetime.

Hearing her name, she turned around - although she herself didn't realize it, Ficha was sat in the same elegant manner as the Sphinx's than sat among the great pyramids. A small sneer crossed her face at the sight of her brother - one of the two twins. Ficha honestly wasn't sure how she regarded her brothers yet. Some of them seemed nice enough, while others she didn't bother wasting her time on. It was her sisters she was in competition with, her brothers couldn't threaten her future title of Queen - but she still regarded them with care.

"No," she stated simply, glancing to the carcass she'd snatched a morsel from, "The sun woke me - the food was merely there."

After a moment of silence given by himself at such a short answer, Uhodari replied, "Oh."

He was being ignored by his sister in favor of the sun; he looked at it again, squinting in the brightness. It wasn't as if he expected more attention from her. He wasn't in a competition with her, after all... However, if the queen and vates were expected to work in accordance with each other, some form of civility should be created and fostered. It seemed like Ficha'pepo was already stony as a cub, though Uhodari couldn't deny his own secretive interior already.

He sighed, lifting his body to put a paw near his sister's body on the rock, looking to her small form.

"I was going to say that your size doesn't make sense if you ate that much. Or maybe you wanted to eat to increase your size. Maybe if you kept eating, you'll be as big as our father one day?"

A vague and calm smirk appeared on his face, though he wasn't aware of the humor in his words.

Oh? What a...pathetic reply. Surely her brother could come up with something better than that? He was related to her, after all.

Rolling her eyes in an irritated fashion, Ficha allowed a small sigh to escape her lips as her attention turned to her brother's paw, which was placed near to her body. She watched it for a few moments, studying the intricate orange markings not unlike her own. At least their mother had been good for something - providing them with such beautiful markings that certainly did the spirits proud.

Her size was nothing to do with the amount she ate. Ficha had determined that already - she could eat like a pig, or starve herself for a short while. Whilst her stomach bloated or sunk accordingly, her overally size and stature didn't change. She was just born small. She didn't bother pointing this out to Uhodari, however - she wasn't sure he'd quite understand. "I doubt it. Father's huge."

She glanced up to her brother with a thoughtful frown, looking him over. After a few moments, she finally offered, "You might grow that large, though."
