Some of you may have heard of Annie's Road the urban legend, but have any of you heard of this?

I was on Scaryforkids.com looking through some ghost stories when something in the sponsored links caught my eye. A link to a website to do with Annie's Road. I'd briefly heard of the story before that but wanted to know more, so I clicked it. Suddenly the window minimized into a tiny square, flew around the screen, then maximized again to reveal a big red eye (well, just the iris) on a black background and some text that I can't remember except for "Annie's Road". In the corner where the internet icon and website's name normally is, the words kept changing as if someone was typing it out. I've seen that before but these messages seemed creepy and cryptic. Things like "Oh god.... someone help me... I saw Annie...."
Normally I, like many people would just think "what a load of crap," but I was curious. The only other thing on the page was a slot to put your email adress because you had to be invited to view the website. I submitted mine and the text changed to "You will recieve your invitation... when you are ready."
I figured that was a joke, but I haven't recieved an invitation yet. I guess I mustn't be ready yet.
I bet you're wondering, what's this got to do with the paranormal? WELL it might not, but I somehow think there's more to this website.

I found that website four weeks ago and didn't bother favouriting it. Since then, I've searched all over the internet for that website. It's like it's completely vanished!

Has anyone else seen this website? Can anyone tell me where to find it? Have YOU been invited? Does anyone else find this all creepy?

I've never seen or heard of a site like that. Let us know if you get an invite though.

Hmm... interesting. The whole eye thing is probably just a part of the website, as well as the moving text and the 'being ready for the e-mail'. It could be something fake, to scare people, or it could be an actual website.

As for the website disappearing, it could be just a website without a link on Google. I could be wrong, but I think the internet can't be haunted.

Well I kinda disagree on the "internet can't be haunted" bit, but I'm not one to shrug off the rational side either. It's just weird how a site so specific and conspicuous can just vanish like that. I've been stalking the sponsored links on scaryforkids since too and it hasn't shown up there either. What's weirder is yesterday I tried just typing in "www.anniesroad.com" because I remember it was something like that, but neither google nor any other search engine or even the adressbar itself would come up with any results. I'm kinda freaked out by it and now I regret not saving a link at the time. Even if the website's fake, it was cool how they made it dance around your desktop before opening.

Even though I still don't think it's haunted, and I won't believe it is until I see it for myself, I'mma go look for that website. Sounds interesting, and if I find it, I'll post the link for you.

I had the idea that maybe it's just a site for farming email addresses for spam.

After reading this, I wanted to know what annie's road was. I googled "What is annie's road?" and the fourth link was to that website. It CAN be found on google.

As I said a few posts ago, I did manage to eventually find it. It didn't seem to like me just searching "annie's road" because it didn't come up on the list. 3nodding

Speaking of haunted computers, I once read something in an eyewitness book about an english ghost communicating to people by putting words on the monitor, has anyone else heard of this?

Ahaha, indeed I have! In fact the idea is often used now in some horror stories like R.L. Stine's "You've Got Mail" (or whatever it's called)
