 She and her siblings were getting steadily bigger, and the larger she became, the more energy she had, and the more energy she had, the more confining their den became. Still their Mother didn't let them too far out without supervision, and right now she didn't want to be still, or sleeping...she wanted to play!
Nkiruka wiggled her shoulders, crouching low, her rear in the air. Her other siblings seemed to be off doing something else; sleeping or playing on their own, but there was one that was alone. Unzi; she could tell it was him, and even in the relative shade of their den, he stood out to her. All that pretty white...but the shade favoured her dark colours, and she was going to use it to her advantage.
Playfully, she tried to stalk up to her younger Brother, being clumsily noisy about it...of course, the little giggling growl she was attempting didn't help either. With plenty of accidental warning, Nkiruka moved to pounce on him, trying to start a little playfight.

 Unzi had been attempting to nap at the time that Nkiruka had decided to start her little game of stalking. He had been up earlier than his siblings and spent most of his energy running around everywhere after their morning feeding, now he was attempting to recover his strength by taking a rest, but it didn't seem as if it would last.
As Nkiruka moved to pounce him, Unzi rolled himself over, catching his clumsy sister in his arms and clinging to her with a growl, "You are so noisy, sister."
Clinging to her, he rolled back and forth with her, probably a little rougher than he should, but he always seemed to do things rougher than the rest of his siblings. It was just how he was.

Ruka gave a bit of a cry when Unzi so easily caught her, trying to press her paws against him to get him to loosen his grip on her. Still, she was giggling.
"I am not!" She giggled out, trying to be all huffy about it; he was young, what did he know! Right now, the rough rolling didn't quite bother her; the energetic little girl was all for it. "You're just lucky!" The dark cub challenged, squirming and pawing at him as best as she could with both sets of paws, still trying to either get him to loosen his grip, or to escape entirely. It wasn't quite working though; Unzi was much stronger than she was, but that didn't make her give up!
With a playful growl, she nipped at his cheek; as much as she tried to be the big sister, she was still just a cub...and this cub wanted to play fight!

Unzi gave her a irritated mrowl at being nipped in the face by his sister. It didn't hurt him in the least, as at this point they all had pretty soft mouthing reflexes, but he still felt the need to act as if it did. It was what cubbies did, and as a cub he would do so.
He let up on his grip of his sister so she could get up and away from him, he was up now and wanted to practice his chasing and pouncing just as she did. Her gentle coaxing had made sure of that.
"I'm gonna get you Ruka!" He said, rolling over onto his stomach to get up and chase after her, probably annoying and inconveniencing the rest of their litter.

Ruka's ears perked when he mrowled at her, pausing in her nipping to stare down at him. Oops, did she hurt him? She couldn't have, could she? She wasn't really biting hard! Well, she thought anyway...
The moment his grip relaxed, she pounced away from him, hopping a few paces over and crouching low to the ground again. Unzi was getting up, yay! Her face seemed to light up when he challenged her, her ears flattening and a little growl leaving her playfully snarling lips, taking a swipe at him before turning to bound away. For now, Ruka was trying to stay away from the rest of the litter; if their playing woke them up so what, at one point she'd slept while they fought and played around her!
"You'll never catch me!" She taunted in a sing-song voice, looking back at him...only to trip over her own paws, taking a bit of a rolling tumble to the ground.

As Unzi had been chasing Ruka, she fell, tumbling paws over head onto the ground. His eyes widened slightly and he went running up to his darker sister in concern, looking her over and nosing around to make sure she didn't hurt herself, "Are you ok, Ruka? You didn't hurt yourself did you?"
Sure, Unzi was very rough and tumble, but Ruka was a girl, and his sister. She should never be hurt, at least according to him, and if he could help it he wasn't going to allow her to be hurt. Their mom would be so upset if she was.

Nkiruka was laughing. Despite her tumble she seemed to be enjoying herself, and made an odd giggling whine of a noise when Unzi insisted on nosing her. "Heeeey that tickles!" She chuckled out, rolling onto her stomach and shaking out her dusty pelt. "I'm fine." She stressed after she realized Unzi's worry, affectionately flopping on him, her front paws around his head in an awkward hug. "Really, truly, seriously, I promise!" She purred out, nuzzling her lightly coloured brother, licking at his face. It was all an attempt to get him to stop worrying, all this affection; it didn't suit him. SHE was the one who had to worry about the younger ones. She was the oldest, right? It was her duty to make sure they were okay, not the other way around.
"You don't haveta ever worry about me, 'kay Unzi? I'll always be just fine, don't you forget that!" She informed him happily, licking at his little tuft of a mane.

Unzi gave Ruka a face as she continuously told him that she was alright and that he didn't have to worry about her. Of course he had to worry about her, she was his sister, his older sister, but still his sister. He returned his sister's awkward hug, and gave her a lick on the side of her face quickly, so that no one else would see. He was a boy, and therefore shouldn't be seen giving hugs and kisses to the girls, even if they were his sister. It'd make him look like a sissy.
Knowing that his sister was alright, he decided to return to their rough and tumble game, playing gumming at his sister's shoulder and growling as he did so. The awkward hug had given him the upper hand in their game, opening a line up to his sister's neck and shoulder. From hearing talk from the other mothers, you were supposed to go for the animals neck for a kill, but he didn't want to kill his sister and only wanted to play, so he decided to go for her shoulder.
"I got yew," He said through his teeth and he gummed at her, trying his best not to hurt her in anyway.

Ruka giggled at the little lick from her brother, purring the entire time. Aww, how nice! Her Brother loved her! She loved him too, so so much! The dark cub was about to nuzzle him again when she realized that he was chewing on her. Her purring turned back into her baby growl, and she headbutted him with the side of hers, jaws open to try to catch and gnaw on his ear. All the while, she tried to toss her weight onto him, to knock him off balance.
"Not faaaaair!" She whined, despite it being muffled in her attempts to both chew on his ear and to knock him over.

Unzi laughed at his sister's whining as he fell backward from her shove, a dust cloud erupting from the spot in which they both fell to. Ruka's chewing on his ear was actually quite ticklish and made the light coated boy laugh uncontrollably, releasing his sister's shoulder from his 'aggressive' gumming. He wiggled, attempting to get out from beneath her so she couldn't tickle him further, but he was finding it hard between his uncontrollable laughter.
"I can- I can't breathe!" He croaked in between his laughter bought, trying to get her to back off a little.

Actually, his croaked plea had little effect on her at first. She seemed intent on making him laugh like he was, but after a second or two she started to realize that he was, in fact, having a hard time breathing. With a sudden yelp she jumped back off of him, her expression dropping to worry. She sat down about a foot away from him, her head bowed a little bit and her ears pinned back, for once not out of playfulness.
She didn't want to hurt her brother!
"Sorry! I'm sorry!" Just because she was always fine, it didn't mean that Unzi couldn't be hurt! Breathing was important, she knew that; she felt funny that one time when she held her breath to see what would happen. Wiggling in discomfort, she started to shuffle forward slowly; taking a few tiny baby steps, sitting down, taking a few more, sitting back down.
"Are you okay?" She was clearly very worried about him.

Once Ruka had gotten off of him and given him the ability to breathe once again unhindered he managed to calm down rather quickly. He felt bad as his sister started to freak out over what was essentially an accident. He knew she didn't mean to hurt him, just like he would never mean to hurt her but he still couldn't help but feel guilty as she paced back and forth wondering if he was alright.
"I'm ok Sister, really," He said, giving a cough as he finally got himself to calm down completely and get up off the ground.
Once on his feet he went over to Ruka and gave her a rub to reassure her that he was alright. She seemed to worry about him, and while it was good that she was worried, because it was a sign of a kind hearted person in his eyes, it wasn't needed. He was a male, more resilient than his sister, he'll be ok no matter what happens.

Ruka's worried expression melted away instantly when he admitted to being alright. Sighing out all of her tension, she purred and nuzzled him happily. It was good that he was okay; she didn't want to have to explain to Mama what happened! They were just playing after all, she didn't mean to. Yawning wide, the dark cub leaned heavily against her paler brother, resting her cheek on him as well.
It had been a short burst of energy, this little playfight between siblings, but now she was getting pretty tired. Rough housing always did the trick! "Sleeeeeepy~" She murmured, her gray eyes closing as though suddenly very, very heavy. Lions slept a lot to begin with, but Ruka was still a cub, and very much prone to nap attacks.
"Are you sleepy?" She questioned slowly, fully intending on trying to stay awake if he wasn't. But really, she was already leaning on him pretty hard; he was practically already the purring girl's pillow.
