Kizi hurried through the tall grass toward the tree that she and her new "best friend" Sungura had agreed to meet. Surprisingly enough, she was alone. For once she left Awena at home to do what she pleased, not out of kindness but rather to keep her from interfering with her plans. Kizi wanted to start training her new toy today, and Awena didn't always know how to keep her mouth shut. Best to keep her out of this for a few days until Sungura was fully under her paw.

She hummed to herself cheerfully as she went until she got about halfway to the spot where she was going to meet Sungura.

Was that...? No, it couldn't be... "Jini!" She chimed, hurrying over to her younger sister, "Jini, what on earth are you doing here?" Her bright yellow sister wasn't exactly at the tree, but she had a sneaking suspicion that she had been. Maybe she had, maybe she hadn't, but one thing was certain, Kizi did NOT want her stupid sister to have an influence on Sugura.

He belonged to HER.

"I was just looking for you, dear!" She lied, "What on earth are you doing all the way out here, hm? You know daddy doesn't like it when you wander too far off."

Oh, what a glorious day it'd been. Just pretty much the best day that Jini could ever remember having. She'd just finished leaving Sungura, and she knew that she'd left that seed of doubt deep in his mind. Mission accomplished, she was completely satisfied that this day had been productive. Very, very productive.

Feeling quite, quite smug with the entire situation, her attention was grabbed by the sight of her disgusting blue sister breaking through the tall grass. Jini was just close enough from their meeting tree that she could turn and see the upper half of the trunk and branches, but far enough away that Sungura wouldn't be able to hear their conversation.

Excellent.

"Ohhh, sister! My darling sister, my favorite sister!" She beamed at Kizi with a sickly sweet smile. "I was just ...wandering about! I know papa doesn't like it when I wander too far but.. I just lost track of where I was." Jini looked slyly at her sister.

"I'm sure you know how that is."

The moment Jini began to speak Kizi knew something was going on. Jini was almost never in the mood to play the "Oh look my most favorite sister" game with her. She glanced over to the tree, which was not too far off. Kizi wasn't completely sure, but Jini seemed to be coming from that direction.

"But of course." Kizi smirked, "I mean, I know how it is to lose track of where I'm going but I'm afraid that I don't know what it's like for daddy to be upset at me for it." She smirked, "But I'm sure you do." Yes, it had begun. Kizi was in no mood to let her dear sister stay so happy, so taunting her with her obvious "favorite" status with their father was always the best way to bring her down. And hopefully get her to retaliate in such a way that would tell her if she had met Sungura or not.

"But it's alright, I won't tell." She offered sweetly, "But I would love to hear about the adventures you've had out here. You know how I love to hear about your day." She flashed a toxic grin at Jini, sitting down before her and staring intently at her. "Come on, tell me what happened, sis!"

Jini's high was dampened by her sisters poisonous comments about their father, but she just couldn't be brought down so easily. Not after today. Not after meeting Sungura, and seeing that Kizi had started up a little romantic friendship with the poor cub. Poor thing. He was so clueless about her sister's manipulative ways.

Kizi was so annoying. How could she be so smug? Jini was determined to knock her down a few notches. She just had to figure out the best way to do it. Jini wanted to meet Sungura again, it was crucial that she do so in order to ruin her sisters plans. This was a very delicate matter. Very delicate.

With narrowed eyes and a terrible smile on her face, Jini saw the way Kizi looked toward the tree that was in the distance. Jini wasn't stupid, but Kizi must think she was. Jini hated her so much, for so many different reasons.

"I am SO glad you aren't going to tell papa where I've been," she trilled in honeyed tones. "I've been in trouble enough lately, you know. It would really make papa angry if he knew I'd been talking to strangers!" Her eyes widened in false surprise, as if she'd not meant to mention she'd been meeting strange lions and striking up conversation with them.

"Strangers?" Kizi's eyes flashed dangerously. "What kind of strangers, Jini? Nobody that would hurt you I hope?" A faint smile crossed her lips at the thought. "You know how much I would hate it if my dear little sister got hurt by a big mean stranger." Her voice dripped with false sincerity but her eyes still betrayed her, clearly showing her anger and hate.

Her tail flicked in an irritated fashion. She still couldn't be quite sure, but with each passing minute she became more and more suspicious that Jini had tried to contaminate her new toy. She could not have that.

"I mean if it's anyone dangerous maybe I should tell daddy." She offered innocently, "So that he can make sure they don't hurt you. Your safety is just so important to me, you see." She tried her best to look worried.

"If anything ever happened to you, I just don't know what I'd do."

"No!" Jini gasped dramatically, "Please don't tell papa. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't see Sungura again!" Violet eyes widened in well-played distress as Jini cried out, almost as if she was in complete agony at the thought of never being able to see him again.

"Please don't!" Jini was being somewhat loud, somewhat dramatic, and she was playing the part VERY convincingly. "He's the only friend I have!" she wailed, almost in tears. She hoped Kizi would buy it.

"Sungura would NEVER hurt me!" she wailed, falling to the ground in front of her sister. "I promise, I will do anything if you don't tell papa!"

There it was, the name she had been looking for. "Sungura?" A soft growl escaped her lips as her suspicions were confirmed. "Why, do you mean my friend Sungura?" Suddenly the sickeningly sweet tone in her voice vanished and she stood up, beginning to pace. The dangerous smile was still on her face, though her tone was clearly irritated.

"Let me make one thing very clear, little Jini." She dug her claws into the ground with each step. "Sungura belongs to me, do you understand that?" She was furious, she wanted to hurt Jini, kill her even, but she had to refrain. Favorite or not, she couldn't get away with outright attacking her sister.

"And I assure you he's not your friend." She smirked, "I told him all about you, he knows that you're no good. I got to him first, dearest." Her sweet tone was beginning to return as the satisfaction of teasing her sister began to calm her down a bit. "Why on earth would he choose you over me? He trusts me, he thinks I'm beautiful." He had never really said the word beautiful, but 'pretty' was close enough for her. "I don't think he's dumb enough to fall for your half-baked tricks. He's smarter than that." She didn't give him a ton of credit for being smart, but she trusted that he would choose her over Jini any day.

"If you'll do anything, then do this." She smirked, "Stay away from Sungura, Jini."

Jini rose to her feet and gave a shake, dislodging any debris from her golden coat. Vivid, vibrant violet eyes narrowed and a smug smile came over her features. A weak spot? Perhaps. A way to get under her sisters skin? Absolutely.

Jini wasn't worried. If there was one thing that Angra disallowed it was outright abuse towards each other. Even Kizi wasn't immune from the wrath of their father should she lose her grip on her anger and lash out at her younger sister.

"He belongs to you? Hah. What will you do if I keep seeing him? I was very nice to him, Kizi. I don't think he trusts you. I don't think he trusts me either, but he's wondering about the truth of your words now."

"Besides," she continued, "I told him a few half-truths of my own, beloved sister."

"What will I do?" Kizi smirked, "Dear Jini, do you have any idea what kind of trouble I can cause you?" She laughed, "You think I make things hard for you now? Just wait. If you want to see what I can do, go right ahead and keep seeing him." A sly grin crossed her face as she began to circle.

"Don't try to kid yourself, sister. Who knows what kind of things I could conveniently "see" you doing, hm?" She had a slight bounce in her step now as she turned ideas over in her head. "Daddy, daddy, I just saw Jini chasing after zebra all by herself! She's going to get trampled, daddy!" She laughed, "I just saw Jini run away to Moki! Daddy, why would she leave?" She said mockingly, delighted at the idea.

"Believe me, Jini." She said in a slow whisper, "You can't win. Not with Sungura, not with daddy... Not with anyone." Yes, Kizi had the upper paw all around and she knew it full well. "What ever lies you told to Sungura will be undone easily enough, and soon he'll hate you just as much as I do."

This was what Jini had been waiting for. This moment, this war between sisters... this was where the line would be drawn. Jini had no fear of her sister, only of her father, and that fear was borne from respect and a desperate love for the formidable lion. She wanted his love, ached for his acceptance, but a small part of her knew she would never have it. She would never be Kizi. Jini was Jini, and a part of her died when she realized she would never be her father's favorite daughter. She'd come to accept that; she did not have her sister's seer powers nor her coat color, both things that Angra loved Kizi for.

But this, this sibling warfare, this brought something to the forefront that Jini could focus on. Jini had no love for her sister, no feelings were lost between them. Jini wanted to destroy her. There was no way she could win here, today, but the future held much promise for the sisters.

"Kizi, Kizi, Kizi." Jini sat, not to be intimidated by her stupid sister. "I will be your shadow. I will always be there, whether you see me or not. Whether papa knows or not. I will be waiting, forever and always, for my chance." She growled, the sound rumbling from deep in her chest. "You will regret this day, sister. The lines have been drawn, and you will see."

Kizi smirked, "You do that, sister." She knew that Jini was patient, if nothing else. She would wait, just as she said she would, but she would not win. Not as long as she was there to stop it. "You can be my shadow all you want, but your chance will never come." She growled softly, "Not with Sungura, not with daddy..."

Oh how she loved to tear down Jini. It was what she lived for, it was her favorite thing in the world. She had always known that Jini was hurt by the fact that Angra would choose Kizi first. She was the favorite, the one and only, and that's how it was going to stay.

"Don't bother with your petty threats, dear." She was going to regret this? How laughable. It was Jini who would regret trying to taint the mind of her little "friend" Sungura. "You and I both know that anything you do to me will come back around to you tenfold when daddy finds out about it. You can't touch me."

Jini snorted softly to herself. Papa wouldn't be around forever, though she didn't want to actually speak the words. Kizi would tell papa for sure, and Jini didn't want that. Even if Jini had to bide her time for years and years to come, she would do it. In the end, she would win. In her own mind, she would win.

But for now she tired of the games. Jini grunted at her sister as she walked past, calling out over her shoulder in a sweet trill, "I'm going home. And don't worry, I'll be sure to tell papa what you're up to. Wouldn't want him to worry!"
