Blue bracelet jingled as a short, hind hoof kicked lazily against the green grass of the meadows. As cozy and hidden the tall grass were for an Usdia, this particular stallion was finding it more of a bother. Why, just look at all the grasshoppers trying to jump on him! Sure they were tiny, but their legs were pointy and almost painful on thinner parts of his hide. Sighing passively, the small soqu continued on his mid-day travel. Well...just to get to the trickling river. Nothing more.
This was his home terrain, all that he really knew. The last time he had tried to venture out he had been a young colt. And there had been too many mishaps to encourage any more traveling adventures. And so here he remained, enjoying what little resources he had. For now, a simple dip in the river would help awaken his tired senses.

Tranquility had spent her early morning cleaning the shrine in the mountain. It was a day that no two leggers would be coming, so she took advantage of that, and she headed down the mountain. She followed the river that ran by the shrine down, it was the easiest way for her in the head. Because all she had to do was follow it right back up at the end of the day.
Careful to not slip, the bell on her tail jinkled as it was dragged, and rolled off rocks. Slowly as she reached the bottom, she saw the tall grass patch to her left. She looked over at it, it always seemed unchanging in her mind. She never went that way though, far to easy for her to get lost. She often stuck to the more open areas. The river had calmed down when it hit the base of the mountain. A calming tickling sound caused the mare to close her eyes.

He had heard it before he'd seen it. Some melody chiming in the air, but without a steady beat and no true sense of direction. Small ears perked, and bright blue eyes turned left and right to try and find a focus point of the sound. It didn't seem too far away, and perhaps he could spot the source before it'd vanish? Now the Usdia had another motive besides thirst. It was curiosity.
With a light skip to his trot, the male pattered through the tall grass maze, hoping that his ears wouldn't lead him astray. And it didn't take long before his front leg broke the threshold of tall grass, stepping out into a world of clear sight. Maramu squinted his sleepy eyes at the slightly brighter settings before he peered around. Hm, the river itself was easily in sight, so he hadn't stranded too far off. But what about the sound now....was it gone?

If Tranquility stayed there for too long, she'd be likely to doze off to the sound. Shaking her head some, to get her senses back, her ornaments swinging she took in a deep breath, held it and then let it go. Good, she had come back.
She glanced over at the water, and then she started to talk walk again. Most things needed were located near rivers, because water was a life source. All animals would come to water, and it was thusly a great place to meet new friends. The bell jingled with each tug as the mare looked around. It seemed like a quite day down here too. As she started to round the ever so slight bed, something with a lighter mane, and darker body caught her eyes.

Blue eyes widened at the sight, and Maramu had to wonder if he wasn't in some deep unknown dream. He'd never seen another mini soquili with such an...an ethereal glow about them. Was she some sort of....water nymph? Exploring the dry lands while no one was around? Curious and hushed, Maramu kept his ground while debating what to do. He didn't want to stand around like some pestering bug, and he was honestly in no mood to get lost in the tall grass again.
Maybe he would wander to another source of water to quench his thirst? Yes, that might be the politest thing to do, since he arrived unannounced and after this other Usdia had already claimed the area. But just as he was about to back away was when the pale female turned, and her eyes obviously caught sight of him.
Oh dear...

Tranquility glanced around her, she was probably standing in his pathway to the water. She often caught herself doing such things... She moved to the side, as if to show him that she meant to aggression, and would like him to have the water. Not that it was hers to begin with.
"I-i'm terribly sorry!" She stuttered out, feeling slightly paniced. "I was just walking around." She smiled sheepishly at him. She found herself staring at him, there was something about hte light mane, and how it settled on his dark hide, with natural markings. She found him pleasing to look at. Not to mention the interesting orenaments he was wearing. Not that she would say anything to a stranger about that...

"Oh?" Maramu blinked in complete surprise and nearly stuttered as well. When did she spot him standing there! Oh dear, and now he made her feel guilty! "N-no, no, that's alright. I didn't mean to startle you or anything." Ugh, and now his nerves were starting to get the better of him. He could already feel his muscles twitching under his fur, and if they didn't relax soon, well, let's just say it wouldn't be any more helpful. Besides, he wasn't in the mood for his random naps, and so with a sigh, he tried his best to relax his anxiety.
Taking a light step, the Usdia smiled kindly at the other as he finally took a drink to his dry throat. The water tasted just as fresh as it looked, and Maramu nearly hummed in delight. Finished with the task, he nodded to the other in gratitude. "Thank you, I hadn't really expected others here in my moment of thirst. Uhm, my name is Maramu."

Tranquility watched him, and she smiled... There was something peaceful about him. "My name is Tranquility, it's a great pleasure in meeting you. Though I think maybe the gods planned this for us." She gave him a sweet smile.
Tranquility walked behind him and she looked around, it didn't look like many others did come to this area. "Maramu, would you like to take a walk with me?" She let her bright eyes find his, and she perked her ears up in interested. "I was just enjoying the sounds of fall."

His tiny ears flicked forward as she spoke. "Tranquility? Truly? Wow, your family did an honest job naming you; it suits you so well." He paused though as he internally thought upon her words. The gods intended this? Maramu had to resist lifting his sights to the sky in the silly attempt to see these gods. And thankfully he was given the chance, as the mare walked passed him and he paid attention politely. "A...a walk? Um, certainly, I don't mind..."
And turning around, the male gave a shy smile to the other Usdia, letting her know he was ready for this trip.

When he turned around, she smiled and let her step fall with his, as she walked slowly forward. The walk wouldn't take very long, Eventually this river turned into a large lake, and that's where they'd stop. But the walk there was nice, peaceful and she wanted to share that with him.
The sounds of fall... A gentle breeze, the rustling leaves, a few here and there falling off. The crunching of the leaves under their hooves. "Have you ever stopped and just listened to the world around you?"

Maramu followed his guide, not wanting to be nosy about where they were to travel. And besides, the other Usdia seemed pleasant enough to not pull some sort of random prank on him. Right? Right. And so the male nodded with a smile as he walked beside her, enjoying the sound of the river to keep them company. It was so much better than the tall and lonesome grass he had been climbing through before.
His smile grew even warmer to her question and he glanced up at the clouds above. "Hehe, all the time, actually. I love the peace and quiet of nature, when it allows it..." Then Maramu blinked for a moment as if the sun glimpsed too harshly on his eyes. Why where the clouds suddenly so blurry and fast? Uh oh...
"Ngh, sorry Tra-" And just like that the Usdia tipped over with a soundly flop into the leaves, his narcolepsy making him snooze like an infant."

Tranquility was in mid step and she looked back at the sound. She blinked a few times at the usdia stallion... What happened? She nudges at him, trying to figure out what happened starting to panic, but she realized that he was sleeping. She didn't know what it was... But she looked around. It would rude of her to leave him there... Regardless of what happened. She moved her way into the shade of a tree that was only a few steps away and she settled down watching over him.

Darkness swept over him like a dizzy freefall. The worse thing about his sleep though, was that there were never any stars to light his path. If there even were paths, when it came to dreams. That is why Maramu always woke with a start, blinking awake the shadows and glancing up tiredly for the clouds above. Ah, the comfort of the real world.
Stretching short legs, the Usdia lolled onto his belly so as not to trip on unsteady legs. He peered around, shaking fluffy locks from his view as he did. Just where was he again? It was then that he noticed another individual under the nearby tree, and it took a moment for him to process his thoughts. The blue hair...the pond, and the tall grasses....
"Oh, Tranquility?"

Tranquility had dazed off, and was watching the stream. When she heard her name she looked over at him. He was standing, and seemed to be a bit confused. But he remembered her name. She smiled at him, before getting to her own hooves and she took a few steps forward. "Is everything okay? You just fell over... I was worried something bad had happened."
She glanced him over, but he seemed to be okay... So just what happened. It had to be have at least an hour he was out.

The male shook out his head, trying to focus his jumbled and fogged thoughts. "Hn, I fell asleep again, didn't I? I'm sorry about that....I can never find a way to avoid those sleep attacks." Maramu glanced down at the ground thankfully, as the last time he had passed out it had been on a bunch of cold pebbles. Giving a sigh, he wandered back toward the other with a bashful smile. She seemed abit pale over the matter, had he really startled her that bad?
"In any case, thanks for waiting up on me. You didn't have to...considering that I'm the pesky tourist in this situation." He gave a casual chuckle, feeling somewhat bad for holding the other up on time. But at least she was a kind individual who guarded him without complaint.
