Overview: Genzu is a well rounded person, he is kind when its needed, and strict when theres trouble. He is a skilled fighter, but he would prefer diplomacy to actual combat. He is reliable on all aspects, though he does enjoy drinking a bit more than he should.
Habits: he often thinks outloud, no matter who is present.

Background: Genzu was brought up to be a well mannered child, by both his father and his mother. His mother was a sickly woman, who spent much of her time bed ridden, but Genzu did his best to take care of her while Shuhei was away, doing things for the soul society. it was his mother that instilled his love of reading, and even with her gone, he still associates books with his fondest memories of her. He had always admired the work his father did, and wanted to be just like him, so after his mother passed, he worked as hard as he could to become what he felt would be worthy of his father's name.

His training for the Shinou academy was strenuous. he would practice his Ho-ho and Zanjutsu for 4 hours a day, and his memorization of the kidou spells for 3 hours. even before he had entered the academy, he had honed both his body and mind. it was as he neared his teen years that the tattoo's his father bore became something he wanted, and so after prodding his father to allow it, he got the tattoos.

Upon his graduation from the academy, He celebrated by having his eye brows peirced. His name was recognized, and requested for division nine, where he served until the rank of third seat. at that point, squad two's Lieutenant had retired, and Genzu filed his application for the seat. He managed to beat out 3 other applicants, who had served longer in the Nibantai.

All the captains he served under recognized his skills, and commended his tremendous work ethic, until finally, he was seated as the captain of squad 9. From there, he continued his path of dedication and hard work, Until, He was asked to take over as Soutaichou, but at the time, it had been temporary, his dedication to the position paid off, and he was given the seat permanently.
