Where i work we got a ghost, called george, various accounts, voices but no one there strange happenings,

*This guy who i work with told me one time before i was working there he came over after one of the shows(he didnt work this show it was a long time ago) well he came in and the staff were having a bit of a party, well, they said the ghost aint been out he said hello george and they have small lamps on either side of the hall, each one of them flashed off (they were on) in sequence down the hall, one thing was they are all on the same switch, no way they could have flashed.

* another accout the same guy was working late at noght and he was just locking up the stage, standing centre stage he could here something so he was really quiet and he could here men talking on the balcony about the redesigning of the clock tower, now that took place about 100 years ago, and there was no one there.

i aint been so lucky nothing really spooky has happened to me, other workers have felt breathing on them as they lock up and flashing exit lights if you ask questions.

i dont think te ghost likes me crying

but maybe this year will be more promising biggrin

There was a rumor about when our theater was being constructed that a worker fell from the scalfolding and broke his neck and died center stage. Our drama teacher denies this but, I've been in our theater with all the lights off and no one in there and it's pretty creepy.

I've got one! A couple of years before I started High School some dude snuck into the school and got into the theatre. He was goofing off on stage and as the rumors go he fell into the pit and cracked his skull on the edge of the stage. We never learned what his name was, but every once in a while secured sets would fall down, someone would trip on a can a paint that wasn't there a few seconds ago, and the most famous move was when we were play the "Cooperation" game. We were supposed to untangle our selves to form a circle and in the middle of it the boy who's hand I was holding screamed and then his hand just kind of wasn't there anymore. At first I thought that he had just fell and I thought, oh s**t, is he ok? I looked down the best that I could but I didn't see him and neither did any of the others, including the Teacher. We let go of each other's hands and started searching the entire Theatre looking for him. One of the Senoirs found him in one of the seat aisles in the fetal position. We know something had to have happened because the only way off of the stage are the stairs and the doors. We could see all of those exits and the Teach. had a pretty good view of us. She didn't see anything. We kind of figured it was the ghost, what else could it have been?

We havea ghost in my school audotorium whom we affectionetly call Tabitha or... Tabby. You know, normal ghost mishaps, props moving around, that kind if stuff. The house lights like to ghost on and off as well, and just be generally annoying for no reason. We've discussed having a seance (sp?) but... hahaha.

My friend was stage managing and had to sit up in the cat walk where the lights are hung to call cues for a show and she was afraid Tabby was gonna eat her XD

Overall, we feel Tabby good-natured and not out to get us or anything.

On a similar note, we've also proved the Macbeth superstition to be true. One of our idiot techies once said the word on stage and withing an hour one of the rooms off the stage that the actors changing and stuff was infested with roaches. Ahhh.

I'm fairly certain our theatre has a ghost. I was in the theatre by myself one day, collecting props, and I heard what sounded like someone rehearsing lines in the dressing room. It wouldn't have been too far-fetched, the sound carries well. So I go back there, there's nobody there. That bothered me a little bit.

That wasn't the only time. Things fall backstage during performances all the time, especially during quiet scenes. A couple of times we've been able to attribute it to a clumsy techie, but other times, there's been nobody back there, so yeah. It's a little strange, but we've come to accept it. I'm pretty sure it's a girl, but I've not been allowed to investigate it. The director denies it up and down and calls me crazy because I'm the most superstitious student she's had in years. rolleyes

Well, Satan and God used to me there, as well as the undead, all of them.

Those were the best techies ever.

But really? Yes, there is a ghost. Either that or our actors are just better at breaking things than most others. I swear, we had a flat that could not be broken (a few of the techs beat it with a lead pipe to make sure) but when we walked into the theatre the next day, it was on the floor and it looked dead.

We personally don't have a ghost, but at our opera house (Yes, my town has an opera house. It's tiny, but really cool. It's all original construction and everything) there are a few ghosts. One is of a worker who died while they were building it and another was of an actress who died, I think. I've never seen them, but some other people have 3nodding

As for the Macbeth this: It's so real! Last spring we were doing Pippin, and there was this guy, Ernie, who thought it would be funny to say. So he has to help carry Betha (Pippin's grandmother) on the stage via rocking chair. Right before they went out, the guys lost their footage and dropped it on his toe. He couldn't go on for the rest of the night. And during Music Man this recent fall, one of our actresses accidently said it and didn't have time to run outside and reverse it, and later during the preformace, her foot got stuck in her costume and wouldn't become unstuck, so the other girls had to carry her offstage. AND, my sister told me about this foreign exchange student who said it was stupid and went onto the stage and pratically shouted it, and a week later, she got deported. 3nodding

I HAD to bump this thread cus what happened at work today was just CREEPY!

So right now we are on spring break at my school, being local and on the payroll, I still go up and work. My friend Tara, Kevin, Nicole, and I have been working the last two days on cleaning up and restoring the default lights. Last night, our boss left early and left us to re-rack costumes. Now, there is this MASK that has been in our dressing room for the longest time. No one can remember where it came from or how long it's been there but it is the CREEPIEST thing you've ever seen. It's one of those clear plastic masks that looks like a man. Everyone hates it. So last night since Judy left, we decided to throw it out and be rid of the damn thing. So we toss it in the trash. Case closed right?

Today we got in and were working and such when I went to the electrics closet to put something away. I open the door, look to the left... the mask is hanging on a hook on the wall!!!

No one touched it since we threw it out and we were the last ones out and the first ones in today. NO ONE could have done it, but the ghost.

I work at three theatres so it's hard to say. The Dockstreet in Charleston, SC has one for sure (those of you who watch TLC should have seen her, she's a beauty---the theatre, not the ghost!) She was a prosititute who met her untimely demise.

The flowertown in Summerville, has one James D, the founder. He usually makes himself known on opening night. We even have his seat reserved for him. 4th row, third seat over just like in life. It's actually comforting knowing that even though he's been dead for five years, that he still cares about his second home.

The one at my school, CofC, doesn't appear to be haunted, but there's always room for ghosts.

At my school we have a carniverous prop room in the blackbox.

The community theater has one in the light booth and one backstage.

And the youth theater has a poltergeist who plays with the sound equipment and steals Jazz Shoes.

Ahhh... rose. Our director doesn't believe she is there and gets mad at the mention of her name but the actors know better. Rose is known to show up during performances, hanging herself from a rail on the catwalk. Quite funny because only actors and spotlight can see it (anyone in the house is too busy watching the play). Once we had a Halloween showing of Midsummer and we had an actor named Rose. We hung her up by some harnesses and a rope around her neck (for affect)a few hours before the show. Scared the crap out of the director.

I am the gohst in my story:

This guy and I had snuck into the theater for fun, and it is both of out favorite places on EARTH at the camp we were at. A couple of other guys saw that the door was open, and came in to play basketball (it was a gym and a stage all in one). One of the teachers saw them, and ushered them out of the room, but didn't see me and nathan was his name. He looked around to check that o one was there, so we amde random noises, and the stage are was very echo-y if you do it JUST RIGHT, which we did, so the teacher went to the other side of the gym to see who it was, his face all white and all. Nathan went to the other side of the stage, which echoes off the other side of the room, and whispered something random, and the teacher went to inspect the other corner, his face practially glowing whiteness. He ran out of the gym as fast as he could, and nathan and I were laughing. It was sooo funny. I guess you kinda had to be there.
