The forest was particularly shady this afternoon due to the fact that the sun was being toned down by the clouds drifting across it. It was the perfect lighting for a certain raver Herla to mess around in. Hayden, with his glow sticks and his unusual bright piercings was frolicking and cavorting through the more spaced out growth of the trees. It was dark enough to enjoy the radiating light from his sticks yet light enough to actually see where he was going. "Hahaha! Man, I love this forest! No Xiphi around to scare me. No big rocks that I can trip on and hurt myself. Soft grass to nibble and tumble around on." He listed off the positive reasons of retreating to this lonesome forest before he flopped himself down on a perfect patch of delicate grass. He rolled onto his back and flailed around for a moment in his own amusement. His glow sticks dangling and rattling against each other as if displaying a private light show.

Susan had been in the area for a while; but he'd yet to really meet anyone and make lots of friends. All he'd met so far had been Xiang... not that it bothered him of course. He'd met his mate for life; and that made up for a lot of it. But it had never taken him so long to make more friends...
His ears twitched as he heard something off in the distance.. it sounded familiar... why did it sound so familiar? He continued walking through the woods; his glow sticks swaying with each step casting an eerie glow in the dim light.
And then he saw him... Another herla with glow things on him... He peered a little closer and his eyes opened up in surprise and glee. A large smile breaking out across his face. "Oh my guardian!" He cried out stepping through the trees towards Hayden. "Hayden is that YOU!"
He cried out excitedly; lifting his front half of his body up excitedly and stamping down happily. "I haven't seen you in... How many years has it been???" He squealed happily running up to him; unable to control or contain his excitement.

In his moment of playing by his lonesome he had been interrupted by a sudden voice. "Eeek!" he jumped slightly and rolled back onto his stomach, glancing around to find the source of where this voice had come from. When he saw the glowing lights of another Herla he widened his eyes. The only other critter he had seen with glow sticks before was his friend from a long long time ago. The closer this deer got the more he grew to realize that it was in fact that very same friend from his past. "S-susan?! Susan?! Is that you?! Really really?" He rose up on his hinds as well and kicked at the air excitedly before falling back to his hooves and stomping his way to the male. "Oh my gosh, it's like seeing a ghost! I... geeze, I don't even know where to start. How have you been, man!?"

"Who else looks as bad a** as I do?" Susan asked holding up his head proudly and shimmying his shoulders in a show off sort of a way. His glow sticks jingling and jangling as he did so.
He smiled and laughed watching him raise up and down. He trotted up to Hayden practically hopping with joy. How long had it been since he'd seen his bestie? Gosh he'd just made it to adult hood when he'd met Hayden for the first time and Hayden had been a yearling. That had been an interesting summer to be sure. Probably one of the best ones in his life except for this summer when he'd met that love of his life!
"I've been amazing!" He said chuckling at how excited Hayden was. "My mion E is still alive! 8D" He said excitedly could he could turn his head to expose a grumbling mion clinging to his hair. But when she see's Hayden she chirps excitedly and reaches out with one hand to try and get to his head to nuzzle into one of his ears. "And best of all; the two of us have mates <3 Xi's mion... Xi's my mate;" He explained quickly. "And his mion is E's mate <333 They're so cute together." He squealed happily.
E tugged on Susan's hair angrily and reached out to Hayden again; straining to get to him and cling to his face. She missed little Hayden!!! Even if he wasn't so little anymore.

Hayden's eyes bounced up and down since they were so keen on following Susan's lively glowsticks. Hayden had always been so attracted to them and that was the reasoning behind why he got his own glow thingies. Well, that and because they warded off the dark, which he was still terrified of, by the way. "Hehe, nobody looks as bad a** as you do Susie!" and the blue eyed Herla believed that strongly. Nobody else's get up had impacted him so much. Well, besides Xiphi's look.
The young buck's eyes widened with excitement at the mention of the little Mion, E. "She's still around?! Where is the little cutie pie!?" but it wasn't long before his outburst that Hay spotted the little critter clinging to Susan's mess of hair and glowsticks. "Eeeee!" he bounced happily, just as glad to see the Mion since he was so friendly. E, Susan, and Hayden were so close way back then.
"Xi's mion? .... hm... Xi... Xiphi... that's funny. My 'mate' is named Xiphi. That's silly how they both begin with XI!" he giggled and looked over to the little creature reaching for his face. Hayden happily leaned in and allowed for the animal to cling. "Teehee! Still as adorable as ever, E!" He giggled and stared at Susie. "I'd be happy to meet your mate sometime." He beamed happily, wanting to know who it was that stole his best friend's heart.

Susan watched as E went from his own head and climbed onto Hayden's head. He liked how well E got along with his friends, and how well behaved she was too, especially compared to most other mions. He chuckled lightly at the compliment that Hayden gave him. "Baby I know~" He said doing a small head bob before hopping closer to Hayden and bumping him with his butt with his own. "I don't know though Hayden baby~ You're getting to be pretty bad a** yourself." He told him nodding his head. "Look at you and your self man~ you look great! how cute!" He giggled prancing around him in a little circle.
He wiggled his tial in a proud way when they started talking about mates and what not. Hayden was mated? "YOU'VE GOT A MATE???" He squealed practically falling over at that admission. "My Hayden? MY HAYDEN??? Has a MATE??" He almost couldn't beleive that! No way! It couldn't be true! This had to be some sort of joke.
He leaned into Hayden and flopped his head against his shoulders. "That's almost depressing~ I was looking forward to having a steamy affair with you~" He teased nuzzling into his side. "Oh well maybe next time." He giggled to him.
E smiled up on Hayden's head. Almost acting like a proud mother sitting up on her butt with a straightened spine. Before getting back down and playing with his hair a bit. Nothing muchl just pulling a few leaves out of his hair, tossing an ant out that had somehow managed to get into there. She chirped at him as if reprimanding him for not taking better care of himself. Before sliding down his back and scratching at the spot between the spines of his wings. Since she remembered he liked that from when they used to play with him all day.

Hayden chuckled and felt his entire body tingle from the compliments. No matter how often or what kind of compliments he received he always adored more. The more the merrier in his mind. "Oh, shush up Susie!" he giggled and shied from the male, looking up towards E who was seated nightly between his horns. "You should really keep him in line," he told E with a big old playful smirk.
Now turning his attention back on Susie and the excitement that seemed to shoot through his friend's body he turned a more unusual shade of blush. Well, not that you'd be able to really tell under that dark fur of Hayden's. Maybe it was because he was embarrassed, or possibly ashamed. "U-Um.... X-Xiphi... well... she's..." he cleared his throat and shook his head miserably. "I just don't think she'd be to friendly to y- Ah! Hehehe, mmmmm" his eyes started to glaze over at the dreamy sensation of little claws scratching between his wings. He hadn't received this kind of attention since the last time he had fun playing with E and Susan. He seemed to get easily distracted and melt at the good feelings. "E-E-Eeeee, hehe... oh, you're such a good friend, little girl. Yes you are."

Susan raised an eyebrow and took a step closer into Hayden, always the concerned friend that he was. "Are you ok Hayden?" He asked making a quick noise to signal for E to stop. "She's treating you right? Isn't she?" He asked a slightly angered look passing over his face. "Cause I mean... I have some friends that can take care of her.... if she's hurting you." He told Hayden very seriously. "You're like a part of my family man, and I'll look out for you if you need looking out for." He told him deadly serious, all the sugary sweetness and flare gone from his whole body. Who ever it was that was with Hayden had better be treating his best bud right.
E was happily scratching along all the sweet spots that Hayden had, not really paying attention to the conversation the two males were having, until she heard her little stop signal. Looking over her shoulder she turned slightly, twisting really to strain to hear what was going on. Finally though she did turn fully around, and waddled up Haydens head a bit. Curious to hear what was going on.

The black buck grew a little more reserved as Susie spoke in a far more serious tone. The laughter had faded quick once Hayden felt that Xiphi could possibly be in trouble with Susan and his 'friends'. What was he in? Some sort of mob or something? "I... she's just the way she is. It's not her f-fault..." He stuttered over the last word due to how nervous he was gettting. He didn't want Xiphi to get hurt because somewhere deep down he did care for the hind, but at the same time he knew he couldn't please her the way she wanted him.
As the little E began to scale up his neck and rested between his horns he glanced upward towards the sky hoping to get a glance at E, but all he saw was the tip of her tail. "I just want her to be happy with what I am, I guess... I don't know. Part of me is relieved that she treats me like this. Gives me a reason to just.... run away. But then I don't want to abandon her. I'd be so much happier if she would just... tell me that... she's leaving." He sighed and shook his head, feeling like a bad mate. What he feared most of all those was how the children might react.
