Horowai was a drama queen. She had been since the day she had been born, but for once, she had a reason to be acting in such a way.
One of her children had been taken...taken and brainwashed by that disgusting, horrible male. A male she hated and despised and...ughhhhh, why had she ever agreed that duel with him all that time ago? Why had she lost? Why had she not just gone back on the deal she had made and run away. He was a rogue and, as her sister had reminded her, she had not been honour-bound to him!!
And now that hateful child, Aysu, had seen fit to steal away with him! How dare she! How DARE she!! She'd go after them and drag the child back whether she liked it or not. And, if she resisted - if he resisted - then she'd kill them.
She had to.
But, it had been a few days now, and despite the fact that she was still fuming, she hadn't gone after them.
And why?
Was she perhaps...slightly afraid?

Shasa had taken after her mother's side in colors and looks(for the most part) but had taken after her father(even though she had never met him) in personality. For that reason she was seeking out her mother, whom she knew was in a rather pissy mood.
She had not been blind to the events that played out around her. She knew of her traitorous sister's deep love and affection for a male she had never met. She was aware that he had come into the pride and whisked her away, along with the fact that he threatened her mother's life.
That was something she could not forgive. Aysu may have loved her father more but Shasa was the opposite. Her affections lied with her mother.
"Mother," she called coolly making her way towards the dark pelted female.

And, of course, though she had tried to hide it, it was clear that her beautiful, bright-pelted daughter was her pride and joy. The apple of her eye! Shasa, as far as Horowai was concerned, could do no wrong.
Thus, her mood actually lightened a little to hear her voice and she even managed a short-lived, but genuine smile. And then the frown was back in place and she moved forwards to push her head affectionately to her daughter's shoulder.
"Beautiful one." She greeted softly. "What's wrong?"

"I know that Aysu is missing, and that our father has taken her away," she stated plainly deciding to get straight to the point. "I saw everything," she sighed shaking her head. "I wish to know mother," she paused studying the older female's expression carefully. "What are your plans to do about it?"
Shasa wasn't one to sugarcoat the truth, she could be civil about it but she was going to be blunt if she needed to. "I do not appreciate the way he treated you," she told her. "He threatened you," her eyes narrowed into slits. "I want to make him pay," she told her mother.
"Will you allow me to restore the honor in which he took from you?" Shasa requested wanting to set things right. She knew that if her father hadn't bested her mother she wouldn't be around yet, she still wanted to see him suffer.
She wanted to see him squirm the way he had watched her mother squirm. It was the dark, vindictive side to her.

Horowai's heart leapt fearfully, but the fear dissipated at hearing her daughter's tone. Young Shasa, so level-headed, quite the opposite of Horowai in that respect. Perhaps that was why they got on so well, their personalities setting side by side nicely rather than butting heads.
Perhaps the same could be said for Suijin and Aysu.
"My love," she replied softly. "I wish you had not seen it...but, I'm glad you did. At least now you have seen for yourself what he is like and how obsessed that sister of yours is of him. To think it, obsessed over someone you've never even met!!" She was about to go off on one again when she remembered that there was more to discuss.
She sat, forcing herself to cool. "I will allow it, daughter of mine. It is your right. You are a trained warrioress, one who has received far more training than any Gasht. But, what I intend to do yet, I'm not sure. I will go after them, one way or another, but it's how to go about it that I'm not sure of." She shook her head grimly. "I underestimated him before but...the last time we met...he's dangerous, Shasa." She growled. "I was too full of myself to see it before."

Despite having been handed everything she ever wanted to her by her mother, Shasa knew exactly what to say to get others to let her do what she wanted. She knew how to play people, an ability inherited from Suijin. "Your dispute between him was not the only thing I have seen mother," she stated a sly smirk upon her lips. She had been witness, though only in the shadows, to another fight that the pale faced male had been a part of.
She had seen the bloody battle that had broken out between him and the bright red female she had seen around. It was over a purple lioness, one she had taken to keeping her eye on. "I know how dangerous he is," she stated. She knew exactly what he was capable. He could easily murder someone if the opportunity presented itself to him.
He had come so close so many times. "I've seen him fight, really fight mother. Both lions were injured rather badly," she recalled with a small shake of his head. "He managed to get away though, barely. He only gets stronger though."
It was amazing how much she had already picked up from just watching him.

"So...it really would be foolish of me to go chasing off after him." She sighed. "Normally I would have chased off after him...but...that look in his eye. It's what made me stop and think. It's what has been making me so angry these past few days."
She hated being so...cowardly.
"But...it sounds like he enjoys picking fights with others. A possibility might be if I caught him after one of these fights and took him down when he was at a disadvantage."
A terrible, dishonourable way to fight, yes, but perhaps the only option.
"And where to even start looking for him...I don't know. He could be miles away by now. Probably is."

Shasa nodded at his mother's words. She had seen the look in his eye, pure anger, when her strike had landed upon Aysu and not him. In a way the rawal hated her sister, not because she had any real reason to but simply because she had all the attention. Yes, Shasa was the favored daughter but lately she had been wondering if her mother would have reacted the same way that her father had reacted when Aysu was hurt.
"Very foolish," she replied coolly, it almost sounded like she didn't care. The blue female was far too talented at concealing her emotions. "He wasn't just picking a fight mother, he was waging war against the lioness," she commented her lips pressed tightly together. "You won't have to go looking for him, he'll be coming back," she told her mother a smirk spread across her lips.
"He still has unfinished business here."

Horowai's eyes lit up and a vengeful grin spread its way across her blue face. "Really?" Well, if he did come back here she'd certainly take him by surprise. She'd kill him. Slowly. Make him beg and then, when he thought that she'd spare him, she'd kill him.
And it would be wonderful.
She purred, reaching out to buffett her head against her daughter happily. "That pleases me so." She blinked her eyes. "Will you join me, Shasa, on getting some payback on that male? It would be...a joy to fight by your side in this."

Shasa nodded at her mother's statement. "Yes, though I would be careful, it seems like he's learned his way around the pride," she warned with a small sigh. He had been stalking the pride for a while, it was a miracle he hadn't been caught yet. Or he was just really, really cunning. Or both. "He's very smart mother, otherwise he would have been caught by now. I would be very, very careful about how you approach this."
It wasn't that she doubted the abilities of her mother, or herself, but she had the feeling that her father was only stronger from his fight. He was only more deadly. She would have to approach the whole thing carefully. She was young and strong but he was strong and more experienced. He looked like he got into fights for fun and from what she had gathered, he never lost. Until his last fight.
This would be very,very dangerous.
"If I am around when you two are fighting then yes, I would most certainly like to join you mother."

Horowai shook her head, confident as always. "If we fight him here, others will be roused to the noise. If I do somehow get into difficulty - which isn't very likely - I need only roar and our sisters will come running."
She could have bounced with glee at the thought of finally giving that male what he deserved.
"It pleases me here to say that, love." Horowai replied fondly. "I was at least blessed with one beautiful, strong child." A somewhat cruel thing to say, really, when she did have other children who were not like troublesome Aysu. But Horowai had desperately craved a Rawal child and she had been gifted one, in the form of beautiful Shasa.
"Are you up for some sparring?" She asked suddenly. Speaking of vengeance had put the fire of a fight in her blood.

Shasa didn't respond, she was too busy playing the possible outcomes in her head. Soon she gave up deciding that it was best to wait and see. Once the fight began she would know if it was worth perusing or not. She never went in to anything blind. It was her strongest point.
"Be careful of him mother," she said letting her eyes glaze over the other lionesses form. "He could easily take advantage of you or trick you," she warned one more time. That was the only thing she was worried about, the only important thing anyway, was that he would lure Horowai away from the pride and she would not be quick enough to rescue her.
"If you would like me to spar I am happy to oblige."

Still not taking her daughter's warnings seriously, she gave a small smile and shook her head, discarding any worries that could have arisen at that point. Worry or not, she was still going to claim back her honour by fighting with him.
"Then spar, we shall! Come Shasa, I'm eager to see what you have been taught by the other Rawals. No doubt you're one of the strongest warriors we have in the lands!" And she was more than happy to sing her daughter's praises. She was so proud sometimes she thought she would burst with it.
And, with a smile, she headed off towards one of the clearings in the jungle.

She sighed internally when Horowai continued to disregard her words. It only meant she had to work that much harder to stay on her toes, now she wasn't just observing she was playing a part in it. She supposed it was her fault, she had made the offer and she had every plan to follow through with it.
Once she gave her word she kept it at all costs. There was no honor in breaking it. "Very well," she replied trotting after her mother. She wasn't particularly interested in sparring but since she had been asked she was going to do it. She would show her mother just how much she had learn and just how strong she was becoming.
She was dangerous too.
