"Sheldon, are you sure you don't want a little orange over here?"

The large stretch of wall spanned over an entire block, doodles and masterpieces covering its entire length. But now, the pieces of art from the past were now being added with new works to their gallery. Sheldon wiped his forehead with his sleeve and gave a quaint nod to Grazie.

"Go for it Gretchan-chan!" he called with a laugh, himself suspended several feet above her on a stretch ladder. "Maybe use more of a red-orange, the plain orange is a little too bright."

Grazie huffed while stretching over towards the wall, smearing paint on her cheek and smothering some more on her artist smock.

"It's Grazie, Sheldon, not Gretchan-chan!" she frowned.

"It's Dad to you, not Sheldon!" he retorted with a grin, painting a gull over the blob of blue beneath him.

"Yea, whatever!" she called up. "You'll always be Sheldon to me!"

Spilling red into the paint tin, Grazie mixed it with what remained of the gooey orange. Her brush stirred and stirred until the orange darkened a little, looking a little dull. She slapped it onto the wall with a splat! and worked her brush about. They were painting a small masterpiece, called "Sunset by the Seaside, No Seashells", cleverly named by Sheldon himself. They had been there all morning . . . and it seemed as though they were going to be there all afternoon. Grazie didn't mind though. Her day needed a little splash of color.

They'd actually been on a routine adventure to d**k Blick for more paints - Sadie was always running out of white; it was a bit of a bother, but Raeburn's obvious interest in the art supplies during the trip made Sadie sigh in relief. He was hard to entertain, and he had worked through her sole coloring book and even a few old black and white mangas (well, she hadn't had anything else for him to color that wasn't an assignment) extremely quickly, for someone who looked like he was four or five.

But people painting was always an interesting sight to Sadie, who was a fellow artist, and she urged Raeburn toward the pair, clutching her bags of supplies. "Look! There's people painting...a mural?"

"I think it's graffiti." The winged toddler's sharp blue eyes had turned to focus on the painters.

How on earth did he have the world graffiti in his vocabulary? Sadie shook her head at him. "No, look - there's a sunset, that man just painted a - oh my goodness! That girl has bamboo wings!"

"You're too excited." Raeburn frowned, tugging on her arm. "Can we return home to draw?"

"No - come on, we've got to talk to them now!" Sadie waited for the light to turn green and picked Raeburn up (wings facing away, as she'd learned the hard way that they resembled copics in that the color the soft feathers laid down was permanent - luckily the colors were not everywhere on them) and ran full barrel across the street. "Wooohooo - heeeey!" she called, waving at the pair.

Raeburn squinted up at the man on the ladder and hoped Sadie's voice didn't make him fall down or something.

Grazie bounced back a little towards the ladder during the called getting, rocking the instrument that held Sheldon up as she waved.

"Hello there!" she called, smearing paint on her smock again.

Sheldon teetered, trying to get his balance before his face squished into the gull he had just perfected. An imprint of the bird's painted features were now fully patterned on his face. Oh great! Oh great, great, great! He huffed and began to get off what he could. He was going to spend some time with a great big ole bottle of turpentine when he got home. Climbing down the ladder after it stopped tottering, he waved a hand too.

"Hello . . . !" he said, sighing. "Something the matter-" Sheldon hesitated, seeing the little messenger reborn within the woman's arms and instantly saw why she came over. "Ah, I should of figured . . . " he thought with a chuckle. Heh.

Grazie glanced at Sheldon, trying to hold in a laugh when she saw the right part of his face. He . . . he looked like an opera phantom reject! She nearly lost her composure but found it back when the duo appeared.

"Hello . . . Oh!" She saw the little Herald and lowered her eyelids half way. She figured just as much as her guardian. Hmmph. Why couldn't they meet interesting people? Like a fire eater . . . or an Amazon woman? What about Sailor Moon? Why couldn't she meet Sailor Moon?

"Hello there." she said in a bored tone, flicking some hair out of her face. "Nice to meet you . . . "

Sailor Moon, admittedly, would've been an interesting person to meet. Sadie stepped back as Sheldon's face squished into the gull. "Oh my god, I didn't think - I'm so sorry!" She placed a hand over her mouth, and then quickly set Raeburn down. He wandered a few feet away from her, looking over the pieces of art on the wall. "Sorry - my name is Sadie Beake; I'm, um, an animation major!" She waved again - oh god she hadn't meant for him to smash his face in! Although the effect was quite comical. "This is, uh. This is Raeburn."

"You'll have to repaint the gull now," said the messenger reborn with a small frown. He didn't know why Sadie had disturbed them; really it was better to leave them to their own devices. Neither of them looked like particularly good painters in his opinion, just people who were out trying to have fun. Which was all and well, of course, but Raeburn didn't see why anyone would go out and paint unless they were planning on being dedicated to it.

"Are you doing a mural?" Sadie asked. "I mean...do you need any help? I'll admit I haven't been doing many paintings other than the assignments for my Illustration classes recently, and none of them are quite so large-scale, but - " Oh, she was rambling again. "I hope your paint was non-toxic," she added after awhile, eyes widening. She hadn't even thought about that! Oh god oh god...

"Ara, ara." laughed Grazie when she took a look at Sheldon. "Senpai, you've got a little something on your face. Here, let Grazie-chan clean it up for you - Hey! Ow!"

Sheldon fitted his hand back into his glove, a smug grin encircling his features. "Behave." he reiterated to the Herald and she shut her mouth post haste.

"Ah, it's alright . . . " he trailed, itching his chin to peel off some of the dry paint. "It's nothing, nothing! Don't worry about it, it'll come off in due time."

Grazie tried to hold back another chuckle and was met with a seemingly friendly whack upon the head. Sheldon kept on smiling to their new piece of company . . . though a popping vein was evident on his forehead.

"Ah, yes, we are painting a mural. Just something to brighten this wall up." he said. "Care to help us out? We'd love the extra help."

The bamboo herald received a small nudge to the back of her neck. She took this as a sign to socialize and stalked over towards the messenger reborn like a sleek, green panther.

"Hello!" she chimed. It was evidently evident her cute little charm was actually all an act. "How're you~? My name is Gretchan, do call me Grazie though. What's your name?"

"Raeburn," said the little messenger reborn, blue eyes blinking. He wasn't sure if he liked Grazie's strange brand of sweetness. He turned his gaze back to the mural. "It's nice to meet you, too, Grazie," he added, gaze still firmly locked on the painting.

"Well, if you're so sure about that - Raeburn, look at Grazie when you're talking to her!" Sullenly, the messenger reborn turned back to the bamboo-winged girl. Sadie shielded her eyes from the sun and looked up at the mural. "It certainly is a large undertaking! We'd love to help - wouldn't we, Raeburn?"

He didn't want to, really he didn't okay stop asking, but paints were much more fun to play with than colored pencils, and you couldn't match the vibrant tones. "...yes," he admitted.

"Hmmm - I probably have a couple smocks stashed in the car - we'll be right back!" Sadie grabbed Raeburn and crossed the street, returning a few minutes later with worn smocks she'd left in the trunk once and never bothered to take out. "Hmm - where would you like us to help? I wouldn't want to intrude on something one of you has already claimed."
