City of Aerr This is the major city of the world, surrounded by dry desert and then by mountains as if to show that only those who have a strong enough will to make it passed the strong winds and sand dunes are able to come into the city. Though it is not tough at all to make it there, one must just walk one day, a full 24 hours, from the outer shell of the area where the desert begins and within that time, they will come across this magnificent city. But beware, there are guards at every entrance.
The walls to the city are made up of extremely hard rock and are very thick in order to keep out intruders that may cause harm to it. If you were to go into the city itself, you would see that there are many people. The streets are made of finest cobblestone and the people look to be busy with their day to day lives.
Within the city, there are different districts which people house their interest. There is a Market District, Housing District, Science District and Royal District.
The Market District is where one could go to possibly buy many different types of food, clothing, items, or any other types of things that cost some sort of money. Many of the shop owners will also barter with you for whatever you wish. The path leads to an underground station of sorts where the tram is. The tram will take you from Aerr to Nuan and from there to Korr. It takes approximately four hours to get from Aerr to Nuan by tram and another 4 or so hours to get from Nuan to Korr. But that is better than walking the distance of two days to get from any one place.
The Housing District is made up of two parts, those who already live there as well as those who are looking to buy a nice house within the city's limits and the other part is for those who are passing by, where there are hotels to stay at and restaurants where one can go to eat a late lunch, early breakfast, or late night snack.
The Science District is the most cut off in the entire city. There are guards everywhere, but they will escort you where you need to go whenever you need to go there. Science is bustling within Levintol and has been for many years. The largest accomplishment to the scientists and people of Aerr, that they are preoccupied with at the moment is The Portal. The Portal can take one outside the world of Levintol and teleport you to some otherworldly place. Anywhere actually. They have just opened it to the public to test and try out, and so far, everything has been a success! Though Amerald finds their awe funny, for his creations haven't been really set in this world for long. This is also where the college is that Amerald grew and went to, this is his hometown.
The Royal District is where the palace is. More guards are here than in any other quarter. This is where the current King and the Royal Family live. Here are where the declarations of government are made and are recorded by the local newspaper to be transported via caravan or tram to the other cities.
Town of Korr This town is centered on the coast of the Levintol Sea. Many fishermen live there with their boats. From their station, they can outreach to the different little islands which contain the food that is transported to Nuan and Aerr. Many fruits and vegetables of all kinds as well as a few meaty animals that are easily killed for their food.
The town is a peaceful one, with not as many visitors as residents, but there is Market Row, which has a string of fish merchants and trinket sellers for the few visitors they do get.
There are boats at every dock and the ocean there is just completely filled with littler boats for quicker travel. Ask a seaman and he will probably even take you for a ride to view the sights of those outer islands.
On the outskirts of town is where one can find the tram station. There is a little pathway that takes you down under the ground and allows for access to the station. The tram would take you from Korr to Aerr and then to Nuan. It takes approximately 5 hours to run the tram from Korr to Aerr and then another 4 hours to get from Aerr to Nuan.
Town of Nuan The first significant thing to say about this town is that it is where Amerald's little shop and home is set up. It is even smaller than the Town of Korr and is completely surrounded by forest. This is mainly because the people like to be enclosed and protected, yet beasts live in the forests that no one would want to pick a fight with.
The closest thing the people have to water is a little river that starts a few miles from the town and goes straight into the ocean. Luckily this is a clear water river, where the people can get fresh water to drink and sometimes different types of fish to be caught and used for meals.
Nuan is paved with dirt and sometimes with cobblestone for the richer neighborhood. The people there are really kind, yet shy, for they don't seem to get much attention. Their only contribution to the world at all is their wood. They supply wood for cooking fires and other wooden supplies. They cut down trees that are further away from the town for this use, and allow them to grow back so that they can take the wood once more. from those same trees later on.
To the West of the town is where one can find the tram station for Nuan. The path leads right into the middle of town and is just outside of it. The tram runs from Nuan to Korr and then to Aerr. The trip to Korr from this station is about 4 hours and another 5 hours if one wishes to get to Aerr.
----------------------------------------------------
Forest of Nuan This is the forested area that surrounds Nuan completely. That entire area where otherworldly beasts live is this forest.
Nuan Peaks The mountains above the Forest of Nuan. They are covered in snow twenty-four/seven and are quite dangerous for others to venture out into. There are also snow beasts that live there, so they are sometimes hard to take down. Just depends on the beast.
Nuan Lake The lake is located to the North-East of the town. It is mostly used as a clear water lake in order to get fresh water for the town of Nuan. That and the river are the closest. But, most of the time the people of Nuan or any other town really like to go visit the beautiful landscape. The clear water is fresh, which many freshwater fish live in. People tend to go there for relaxation, because for some reason, the water is always warm. Even during the winter months, it becomes like a spa. The scientists of Aerr suspect that there is volcanic activity at the bottom of that lake, but no one would ever be willing to travel that deep to find out.
The Aerr Desert The deserted area around Aerr is home to harsh, hot winds and a lot of sand. The desert is also home to some beasts, but the most dangerous part is mostly the massive sandstorms that can often occur.

Levintol, as most know, is a world much like our own. But every world has its own story to tell.
.: The Weather :.
Current Season: Fall
Aerr: Still rather stuffy from those summer months, Aerr is still quite the bustling city as usual. The clouds above Aerr don’t give much shade for the sun beams down upon the town quite often, no matter the season. The air becomes humid in the fall and it isn’t the most pleasant place to be. Korr: The seas around Korr are now colder than normal, leaving little trace of the bustling life that would have been on the beach during prior months. The sky is darker and the sun shines through the clouds quite beautifully. The air is now cool and winds begin to blow throughout the town. Nuan: Golden and brown leaves pave the streets of this dismal town. The world around the town looks rather dark and dreary most of the time. The sky is dark and the clouds are covering what sun there may be. Most of the time the lamps that line the streets are lit due to the darkness from the clouds. Luckily, when there is light from the sun, sometimes the sun will shine through and daylight will break upon the ground, allowing the town to see the glimpse of the sky above.
.: The People :.
The people of Levintol are what we would call, human beings. They are a people much like those of planet Earth. Each has an individual personality and story, with so many different backgrounds and heritages. They are all just like human beings, flaws and all. Some may think after reading this post, "Do they have magical abilities?" Well the answer to this is simply, "No, they do not." The reason is because magic doesn't really exist in Levintol. The closest thing that could get any human to use 'magic' would be to infuse one of Amerald's special crystals into the skin, which instantly pains the target excruciatingly, but allowing them to manipulate certain elements.
Also one thing to note is that Levintol is full of different cultures and customs. People differ in their ways of thinking, thus resulting in different ways of life. Styles of dress differ from person to person. It just depends on your income to pay for the clothing to be made from a local tailor as well as the style the tailor likes to use. Going to a younger tailor may help you get a more modern style while taking your requests to the elderly tailors may cause your clothing to come off as old fashioned. It just depends on your take with clothing.
Other races, those humanoids with tails, ears, horns, or other distinct characteristics are able to find their way into Levintol via The Portal that those with the enhanced scientific ability of the age have come to realize and understand enough to bring to light. Humanoid creatures have come through the portal in the past and were actually allowed to stay. But ever since the incident with a rather particular creature, who nearly destroyed the Royal Quarter of Aerr, the government has deemed that no non-humanoid will ever be allowed in the city again. Thus making it quite difficult for those who have differences to live in Levintol. There are times when the guards are quite lazy with their jobs and do not defend The Portal as needed and have allowed 'strays' as they call them, to come in. Those few who have been able to keep their real identity a secret are allowed to stay. But be careful who you trust, one would never want to be found out with this society. They could be executed or exterminated by any means possible.
This is one thing that has made Amerald quite uneasy about bringing his scientific accomplishments to light. He doesn't want the Levintol government to become involved. When he did finally say a few words about his experiments, they weren't really shown, but a few, more willing participants have entered his sights, which makes for a fantastic time on his part. He can then create more Hraapea and hope for the best. But too many, and he may be found out.
.: Technology :.
Levintol, being set in older times, is quite the world when it comes to technology. Very few technological items have been invented by these scientists. In essence, science has taken a remarkable leap, being able to create The Portal and manipulate DNA in such a way that allows for new life to be created, but on the other hand, no one has thought of making weapons of mass destruction or mighty military weapons because there was no need. Levintol is mostly a peaceful place who has no need for an atomic bomb or such a thing to use as leverage on another city.
Besides there not being any military weapons, most scientists are also alchemists, able to make potions and use alchemy to their advantage, much like Amerald with his growth serum and rejuvenation potions.
Because of this, instead of guns or heavy military equipment and garb, they are stuck with having armor smiths and weapon smiths create swords, shields, mail and plate armor, spears, bows and arrows, as well as many other medieval weapons of the sort to use for their defense against whatever may come their way.
Another thing of note is that there are no cars or modes of transportation other than the general walking from place to place. There is a train station that runs a coal-operated tram under the ground which runs from city to city for faster travel, at a price. There is only one and it travels within a circle going from its starting point in the City of Aerr to the Town of Nuan and finally going to the Town of Korr and ending back at the main city just to start its trek over again. This is how most newspapers are transfered from place to place so quickly to allow the residents of other towns to see the latest news on what's going on.
There is limited electricity in the different cities. Aerr is where electricity can be found the most. The Royal quarter as well as the housing and science districts do own a bit of electrical equipment in order to create and sustain electricity throughout the houses and buildings. The Royal District is the one who distributes the electricity to the other districts according to their needs. In Korr, electricity is mostly found within the houses who are able to pay for it. It is transferred via a cable under the ground from Aerr to Korr. Sadly, this cable is a one way trip and Nuan gets none of it. Nuan sadly doesn't have electric advances but relies deeply on candlelight and candle-lamps to see when night approaches. The streets are paved with large lamps that are lit every night around sundown. Each house is built with large windows to get as much light into the houses during the day as possible.
.: Government :.
The government for Levintol is quite unique. The land is actually governed by a Royal family. The current rulers are Sulan Olphar, the King, and his family, Queen Lalyla Olphar-Shiima and their two sons, Prince Sulayn and Prince Loman as well as the representatives. The King has two other representatives, one from Nuan and the other from Korr. These could be considered as 'mayors' or the Kings right hand men. They are each stationed in their specified city. For Nuan there is Manni Fischer and as for Korr, the representative is Orhan Schees. These are the rulers of each town and report to Sulan regularly on any disturbances or issues that the towns might have.
The guards are those appointed by King Sulan himself to watch over and care for the City of Aerr as well as the Town's of Nuan and Korr. They would obviously be considered the police of our age. They also come with many different personalities. Some will actually try and better the population while others may try and use their power against a citizen. Either way, complaints made to the government officials regarding the guards or their behaviors is ignored most of the time, sadly enough.
.: Occupations :.
Regarding jobs or occupations within Levintol, there are many acceptable for the era or age in which Levintol is set. For instance, since we know that technology is not at its finest, most jobs are going to be set in an alternate time frame. Since televisions do not exist, but actors do, the actors would be that of the stage, because Aerr does have some good entertainment there, as well as little places here and there in Nuan and Korr to also have some entertainment.
For example, some great job choices may include: teachers, singers, artists, fishermen, guards, tailors, armor or weapons smiths, cooks, actors, glaziers, shoemakers or many many different occupations. So, now that you have an example of some occupations, please be sure to choose one that fits the era in which Levintol is set, otherwise we may have to deny your character approval to join in the roleplay going on here at DoA.
~~~~~ If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM Amerald Laraan with them! <3
