Strange things were happening in the pack - things which Jono knew nothing about. The only thing he knew, or care to know, was that he was his brother's shield, and occasionally, his sword. Jono liked fighting. It was simple, and took little thought on his behalf. Other wolves might say the only way to win a fight was to out-think your opponent, but Jono knew that his brute strength and massive mountain-bred size was enough to win most fights, thought or none.
But today wasn't a day for fighting. Loki had given him a direct job, and he was excited to do whatever his grandmother wanted. Today, he was to scout the outsides of the packlands, across the river, to see what he could find. They were about to go back into the business of recruiting, and the pack would, once again, flourish.
Jono had been told by his grandmother that it was one of the most longstanding packs in the Woods, and he had been told other things too. "The Ones Who Walked Away" were the group he was told most about, as was everyone who came into the pack now. Soon, she would stop telling that story, and it would be up to the younger generation to pass the story on to their children, and to the new wolves who were accepted into the pack.
At the thought of new wolves, Jono stopped daydreaming, and set himself up to jump the river at it's thinnest point. Today, he would find something.

It wasn’t like Kairi had meant to be so clueless; it wasn’t as if she had purposely left her pack or anything like that in fact she had a wonderful life so why would she do something like this? One thing Kairi could do was wander, wander in her mind, wander on the earth, and just wander about everywhere. So truthfully if you think about it Kairi hadn’t meant to leave the safe haven of her home, it was just Fate’s way of pushing her in the right direction; wherever that might be.
She wasn’t the type to pay attention to studies, like survival and endurance… She just liked fighting. It was brute strength against brute strength, claws and growling and and… Spit! It was so exciting and if her pack had allowed her to fight whoever she wanted she probably wouldn’t have left. Wait is THAT why she left? Oh look water!
The glistening from the river distracted her thoughts, fading away into the bleak abyss of Kairi’s mind. Hopping joyfully towards the large body of water Kairi splashed into the blue gates of wonder! “Blueeeee!” giggling Kairi didn’t even take notice for her surroundings as she rolled through the shallow park of the river.

As soon as Jono had crossed the river and shaken what little wet had got on his paws off, he heart splashing. There was no reason he would still be hearing his own noises from the water, so he followed the river in the direction of the sounds, hoping to find another wolf.
"Hello there!" he called out, in his most friendly voice. He was big, and that made him sound gruff, but he didn't really have a mean bone in his body. Well, not for nice wolves, anyway. Sometimes everyone had to fight to survive, though.

Kairi’s ears twitched at the sudden sound, someone was calling to her? Certainly not! No one was out here! Continuing her rolling around Kairi caught the site of such a pretty white… Wolf!? When did he get here? Oh yeah wasn’t she being called out wasn’t she!
Giggling Kairi slowly stood to her full height, her ankles being washed over by the shallow current. “Hello.” Slowly Kairi started towards the male, he did look like a male after all… So big! ‘He’d be a great fighting partner’

"Hey, the name's Jono!" He started out with an intruduction. His brother never did, and Jono thought that was rude. It was nice to find out names up front.
"What's a girl like you doing way down here?" he spoke, a good natured joke. Maybe she might want to join him going back to the pack... Loki would be very pleased.
He smiled as he waited politely for her to answer, hoping she would give her name as well. He thought she was pretty, and his tail wagged happily behind him, causing his rump to wriggle a bit like an excited puppy.

Smiling Kairi’s fangs shined in the bright light, glistening almost as if the water did below her. Slowly she stalked forward her tail low her back loose and her eyes bright with need; for what? Who knew with Kairi.
“The names Kairi…” Her voice dipped into a most entrancing melody, “And I’m here to play.” She always did like to play, play what? Usually fighting biting and all of the such but maybe this was a new kind of play?
Coming upon the male wolf Kairi almost felt small compared to him, but then again another part of her became thoroughly excited by the very thought of sparing with the large male! ‘Now what was I doing? Oh right!’
“Want to play?” Kairi’s tail wagged slowly, her body swaying with the current of the river behind her.

"Wait!" Jono had to put a hold on this train before it took him to paintown. What was he out here for? To scout. "Are you a spy? You're a spy, aren't you!"
No wolf was this... dumb? He wasn't certain if any wolf could play this dumb. Maybe she WAS a spy.
And maybe he could approach this a better way. If she was a spy, it was covering his own a**, and if she wasn't a spy, maybe... she wanted to join his pack!
"No no, wait. Let's play a game, it'll be fun." he smiled, hoping to hook her to his antics. "We'll play that you're a spy and I'm a scout, and I capture you and take you back to my alpha!"

Wow his thoughts moved quicker than her own! Kairi’s tailed wagged happily her own thoughts of ‘playing’ dimensioning as his words took over her main thought pattern.
“Sure! Sounds like fun!” Trotting around the male Kairi’s tail swung about happily, this was so fun meeting new wolves…!
“Gonna play a game… Gonna play a game…”Singing happily Kairi listened in to her instructions, ooo! This wolf sure knew how to play!
“Alrighty! Spy Spy…” Sinking low to the ground Kairi dropped into her ‘sneak’ mode and started sniffing around the ground, like she was searching for something but she didn’t know what; and truthfully she didn’t know what.
“Spying.”

Jono stifled a hearty laugh. This girl was good at being a spy, that was for sure. "You're good, that's great." he encouraged. "Now I'm gonna trot over there behind those trees, then come back out at you and take you hostage." he grinned and winked, keeping up the idea that this was a game. Man, he was going to score some points with his alpha and his brother.
After he gave her his instructions, he made for the tree line, waiting a moment before coming back out. "Hey, you! Halt!" he yelled, rushing towards her. He wasn't sure if he should rough her up a bit. "You need to come with me, female." he tried his most stern voice, hoping she would keep up the 'game' by simply following him.

Smiling Kairi watched as the wolf disappeared into the tree line; slightly sadden at the thought of having to play a long for just a moment. Quickly though her sadness disappeared as she started circling the area, sniffing along the ground her butt in the air and her tail wagging happily to the tone of her loud humming. ‘Oh wait Spies don’t hum…’
Shutting up Kairi completely forgot that she was supposed to be doing this for that white male, that… Jono! Yeah that was his name; so when Jono rushed at her Kairi’s first reflex was to growl and go onto her hind legs waving her front claws around.
“Bring it!” Growling Kairi liked playing Spy!

s**t! Maybe she really WAS a spy, and Jono had reminded her of her job. Or maybe she was a mercenary sent to kill of the remaining members of the pack and take the lands for their own. Oh dear, oh no.
He glared at her, circling around her. She wanted a fight, and he could give that to her. But... he didn't want to hurt a female if he wasn't completely sure she was out for blood.
"We don't have to fight, you just have to meet the alpha, you're trespassing!" he tried to clear things up, not wanting to hurt her unnecessarily. "She's very forgiving." he hoped his last stand worked, before being forced to fight.

Growling Kairi dropped to the ground keeping her eyes on the male, he was big but she could take him! Wait… He wanted her to go back to meet his alpha? Going into deep thought Kairi took is words into serious consideration; for as long as she could remember them or care to remember them at least.
“Hmmm…” In fact thinking about it he seemed kind of surprised about the whole thing, wasn’t this his idea? Oh well! He’s such a funny guy!
Kairi’s tail wagged happily as she dropped her defensive stance into a more… Cuddly one. Flopping onto the ground Kairi rolled onto her back showing off her submissive side. “I’m sorry.”

Oh, that worked. "Come on, you'll like her. She's my grandmother, after all." He made sure she would follow him before walking back in the direction where he had crossed the river.
"You think you're up for swimming?" he grinned back over his shoulder at the female. "By the way, I think you're very pretty, if I may be so bold." His shyness was coming out now, and he thought that, hopefully, a dip in the river to get into the packlands would calm him down a bit.
Stepping gingerly into the water, he shook himself with anticipation. Oh, how he loved being surrounded by water, sometimes.

Smiling Kairi hopped right back onto her four legs, this was so fun! Even knowing she slightly hand no idea what was going on but it was fun nonetheless. Almost like a pup Kairi perked at the thought of swimming!
Jumping along towards the water Kairi slowed down, hearing something odd about her appearance Kairi frowned. “Pretty?” Right! That’s what males and females say to one another when they want to become a family! Did he want to play house?
Shrugging Kairi nodded, “I am very pretty indeed!” Continuing her journey into the waters Kairi hopped in the water like a fox hopping over tall grass, “This is so fun!”

God, she was sooo dummmbbbb. Jono's brain felt mushy at the thought of it, but maybe she would wise up a bit later? If not, he didn't know what the pack would do to her, but at least she would be safe there.
"It is, it is. Come along, my alpha should be awake and waiting for my return." he grinned and splashed through the rest of the water, shaking himself off once he hit dry land again.
He led Kairi through the shallow forrest and towards where he was to report back, new female wolf in tow. Loki would be very interested in this find, indeed.
