Just wondering how many of us do.
My family "celebrates" by throwing a party, but it's more of a "whoo let's have fun it's summer!" party than a fourth of july party. We stuff ourselves with food, talk, pop fire crackers, and *occasionally* the adults drink. If anything it's used more of as an excuse to throw a party and play with fire crackers than anything else.
One theory a family member presented to me is because most of our family members don't consider ourselves "real" Americans because our ancestors were native Hawaiians, and those who weren't arrived to become part of the Kingdom of Hawaii, and not America. Our family wanted to live in Hawaii, but we did not want to become American, so we don't celebrate American holidays the way other families might celebrate it.
It's the same way with a lot of my friends' families too.
So what about the rest of the guild members? Do you celebrate the fourth of July, and for what reason?
