Okay...I always thought your breaking your hymen was the same as the phrase "popping your cherry." But then I was told that I was wrong.... but when I went to look over it, it sounded the same.

So can someone please clear this up for me?

Oh, and along with it, how do you exactly "pop your cherry." Can it only be done through intercourse?

I'm sorry...I wasn't sure where to put this so I thought it should go where to how you "pop a cherry"

Same here.

You can "pop your cherry" (I'm going to presume they're the same, so bear with me) in other ways, such as horseback riding, gymnastics, inserting a tampon, etc.

"Popping Your cherry" Is like slang for breaking your hymen through sexual activity.

I think in some contexts "popping the cherry" may be losing your virginity rather then just breaking the hymen, which can be broken many other ways as Nikolita said. But I've also always thought they were the same thing.

Well since losing your virginity and breaking the hymen are often related (remember, slang doesn't always stop to consider actual medical fact), I see it as quite possible that the term "popping the cherry" refers to the breaking of the hymen with the assumption that it only occurs upon the losing of virginity.
