Brigid of the mantles, Brigid of the hearth flame, Brigid of the twining hair, Brigid of the augury, Brigid of the white feet, Brigid of calmness, Brigid of the white milk, Brigid of the crossroads.
I am under the keeping of my Mother Mary. My companion beloved is Brigid. I shall not be slain, I shall not be sworded, I shall not be put in a cell, I shall not be hewn, I shall not be anguished, I shall not be wounded,
I shall not be blinded, I shall not be left bare, Nor will Mary leave me forgotten.
I am under the shielding of good Brigid each day. I am under the shielding of good Brigid each night. I am under the keeping of the Midwife of Mary Each early and late, every dark, every light. Brigid is my protector, Brigid is my maker of song. Brigid is my sword and shield, Brigid is my guide.

Name: Ashlyn Catigern Nicknames: Ash, Little Lyn Approximate Age: 18 Date of Birth: December 3rd
Prophet of: Brigid Rank: Prophet
Occupation: Jewelry-maker
Personality: Ashlyn is a strong, empowered woman, or at least that's what she'd like you to think. She goes out of her way to show people how powerful a person it can be, whether its rough-housing around and raising her voice or being pushier than she has to be to get what she wants. The more threatened she feels in a situation, the harder she tries to push the 'tough girl' persona, especially in front of strangers.
Inversely, the Ashlyn that her closer friends know is a considerably more amicable and better humored person. She's still quick to anger, but she's also quick to forgive and forget (as long as she's had enough of an apology to soothe her wounded pride). For the people she considers to be close to, she takes on something of a maternal instinct and her forceful nature comes back into play, wanting to protect the people she considers part of her family. On the flip side, however, she also feels like she has a right to an opinion on these people's lives, and very quickly can get bossy as to what they should and shouldn't do. She means to offer 'advice' with the best intentions, but usually it crosses a line and becomes overbearing. Likes: Metalworking, Midnight exploring, Blue Shark energy drink (Attack Attack flavor), and the boy band Rags 2 Riches Dislikes: Chauvinists, Being politically correct, and Mexican food
Powers:
Fires of the Forge - Ashlyn has an inherent talent with metalcraft, and given the right kind of ore and about an hour she can make just about anything, especially in the way of armor or weaponry. When concentrating, metal simply bends at the touch of her hand, as if it'd been half-melted, but this requires most of her concentration as well as physical contact, so it's not a skill she'd likely be able to make use of in battle. Fires of the Battlefield - Ashlyn has an instinct for battle, and as such is better than the average 18-year-old girl at wielding a sword. Hrith, her hand-and-a-half sword, can be wielded either with either one or two hands, and she is equally good at both. While she wouldn't have any problems taking down a civilian, fighting a seasoned swordfighter would be difficult, if not impossible for her to win. Fires of the Body - Though Ashlyn doesn't like admitting it, she is capable of casting charms on people, making them attracted to her for a limited amount of time. This attraction is more lust-based than love/affection-based, and is much more effective on civilians than actual godlings, the effectiveness decreasing as the Player's rank increases. Fires of the Soul - Equipped with wellwater from old Ireland, Ashlyn is capable of healing wounds from scratches to near-fatal blows. This sacred water cannot reconnect lost limbs or bring people back from death, but it can neutralize poison, stop internal bleeding, and fix broken bones. There is enough water in her flask to heal four minor wounds such as cuts or scrapes, two major wounds such as bone breakage, or one fatal wound, such as poisoning or simple organ failure. This flask can be traded or lost, and if this happens, Ashlyn loses access to this power.
Appearance: Hair: Ashlyn's hair is long and wavy, and when down goes nearly to her waist (normally, it's worn in a braid or some other similar updo). Her hair is a fiery orange in hue, with the exception of her bangs, which lighten to a bright yellow that she swears isn't bleached. Eyes: Wide and naive, they're a golden yellow, though depending on the light can appear different shades of orange as well. Face: Ashlyn has an oval-shaped face with strong features: bright eyes, a long, straight nose, high cheekbones, and soft lips usually pulled thin in a smirk. A light smattering of freckles runs across her face, making her appear younger than her actual age. Body type: For someone who seems long and leggy, Ashlyn is actually on the shorter side of 5'4", and softer than she might appear. While not overly curvy, there's something about her figure that is distinctly feminine and young.
Fashion sense: Ashlyn is a t-shirt and jeans type of girl: she prefers function to form, and wouldn't be caught dead in something she couldn't run or fight in. She likes to get dressed quickly and be on the move, so it's not often you'll see her with much in the way of accessories (or even shoes with laces). Flannel is her comfort fabric of choice, and while she isn't a fan of shirts you have to button up, she'll make an exception for a comfortable piece she can simply throw over her head. At night, however, she has her silk jam-jams (an affectionate word for 'pajamas') and no one ******** with her jam-jams. No one. Accessories: Ashlyn forged her own sword, titled Hrith, after the model of a b*****d blade, a greatsword that can be wielded with either one or two hands. b*****d swords are pretty much awesome.

Stuff about Brigid~! Taken from here:Brigid is the Celtic goddess of fire (the forge and the hearth), poetry, healing, childbirth, and unity, is celebrated in many European countries. Born at the exact moment of daybreak, Brigid rose into the sky with the sun, rays of fire beaming from her head. She was the daughter of Dagda, the great 'father-god' of Ireland. In Druid mythology, the infant goddess was fed with milk from a sacred cow from the Otherworld. Brigid owned an apple orchard in the Otherworld and her bees would bring their magical nectar back to earth. It is said that wherever she walked, small flowers and shamrocks would appear. As a sun goddess her gifts are light (knowledge), inspiration, and the vital and healing energy of the sun. Brigid became the wife of Bres, an Irish king. Together they produced three sons, each of them became a famous warrior. Brigid and her husband came from two warring tribes and hoped their marriage would end the enmity between their kin. Unfortunately, it did not. But, as it turns out, the battlefield death of their son Ruadan assured Brigid's role as a goddess of peace and unity. A major battle between the two families was about to begin. Brigid's eldest son, using the knowledge of metalsmithing that he had learned from his mother, struck the first blow, killing the smith of the opposing army. But as the warrior fell to the ground, he managed one last blow before he died and Ruandan was also killed. Brigid's grief was enormous--for the continual hatred between the two sides of her family and for the death of her son. Her lamentations were so loud they were heard throughout Ireland and so heart-rending that both sides left the battle and forged a peace. The goddess Brigid is said to have originated the practice of "keening". She is also credited with the invention of whistling, which she used to summon her friends to her side. Eventually the love and respect for the goddess Brigid brought unity to the Celts who were spread throughout Europe. Regardless of their differences, they all agreed upon her goodness and compassion.
