The mistress has been sick for far too long. Those caring for her refuse to let me in... why must they do this? The thoughts swirled round and round within the head of the poor dark ruby eyed female. She did ever so want to see the one who had raised her from a small bit of enchanted candy.
That is why she was sitting where she was. In the ceiling beams of the home that her mistress lived in. The door opened and closed all the time, leaving small chances to slip in. But they did it so fast! The past few days she'd been working on timing. Moving as close as possible to be able to have a clear get in moment. And it all paid off. The moment the door opened, the man who was the sick girl's brother dropped something. As he bent to pick it up, the winged feline moved in. She managed to hide as well, making little sound as she scooted under the familiar bed.
"Miri?" A weak voice spoke. The Mistress! Silent as she was, Almiri moved out and onto the bed, a pleasant purr in her throat. She loved her mistress so much. Was there anything she could do to help?
"Miri, it's....nice to see you." The girl had paused to take a drink of the hot tea to help her throat.
"I have missed you...why must they keep me away?" The soft voice of the feline came in. Her beautiful eyes held a questioning gaze as she awaited the answer.
"They believe you will make me strain myself." was the simple answer. The feline frowned and puffed out her chest. Nonsense! She would prove to them that she was worthy of staying by the side of one she had called Mistress and mother for so long.
"I shall prove them wrong... if there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to ask me." She moved over near the pillow and curled up, eyes staying open. She didn't need sleep, but she wished to lay down and rest somewhere near so that the girl would not strain herself.
"Thank you Almiri... you are such a blessing." A series of coughs followed the statement, and Almiri moved into action. A small chant charmed the tea, if only for a moment yet long enough, to calm the fit as the sick girl drank. Indeed it helped, and all was calm again.

Days later, the girl was beginning to get better. Almiri had been able to stay in the room, as the girl requested it. And all the help that she had done had ended up letting the brother off. This made the man feel better, as he did not honestly like his sister all that much.
So now, it was just Almiri caring for the girl. The feline was happy with this, and did all her requests without quarrel. It was a more pleasant atmosphere as well.
"Thank you so much Almiri. You have been so much of a help." The girl sounded so much better now! No more rasp in her throat, no more pause for tea. The tea was not even needed!
"Anything that I can do in your service is a pleasure to do. For all that you have already done for me, I am glad to help." A small smile crossed her face, and a purr warmed the room as the girl scratched behind the feline's ears.
