Who would have thought he’d find himself here again. Eiji is known to be found at the bar once a day during the evening hours but for him to be present all day is a bit unexpected. Countless hours he spent there and many drinks came in contact and passed over his lips. Over the day he found that he had made a handful of false friends, only to part ways out of the bar setting, as drinks usually do. It’s funny how drinks, or being drunk to be more precise, can bring people together or tear them apart.
“Bartender! I’ll take another of whatever the hell it was you just gave me!” Eiji chirped as he called over the nearest tender with a wave. “I think it’s best you head on home.” One of the bartenders said, in a stern voice, as he took away another empty mug Eiji held onto. “You’ve had more then enough and even though you have never harmed this place once we’d prefer to avoid any opportunity.” That was not something Eiji wanted to hear but he knew chances are he’d be back tomorrow and he’ll make up for lost time then. “Fine, but I’ll leave now only if I get ooooooone more.” He replied as he rose a finger. The bartender that took his mug remained quiet as he stood there washing the mug with a wet rag. “Oh come on! It’s just one small mug.”

The day had gone decently well. She'd met with Huang briefly in the earlier afternoon. Briefly because the young man had had other things to do. shin hadn't been all that pleased having her time with the other lunarian cut short, but she let it go. She knew he had responsibilities, and while she'd have loved to be his top priority, that just wasn't a reasonable desire. She'd spent a short time after that being annoyed, but had gone on to practice her new songs and spells. Liu had been impressed by her progress, which meant the day had been fruitful.
She was on her way home now, wandering the winding roads of the city. Her pace leisurely, unhurried. Nothing awaited her at home, so she saw no reason to rush there. Besides, it was a nice evening, the weather was clear, and the cool breeze that had made the heat of the afternoon bearable had vanished to leave the evening air warm, but not hot. Her Dizi was tucked along her back at a vertical angle, secured to her person by the metallic and earth toned bad of her Obi.
The western quarter wasn't he favorite part of the city, but she had to go through it to get home. She didn't necessarily dislike it, but there just weren't as many things here that appealed to her, as apposed to the eastern quarter. Except for the Cherry Tree Hill, she quite liked it there. The hill wasn't anywhere near her now, instead she was about a block away from the Ichi-Koi Inn. She could already see the light from the windows and lanterns, hear the commotion of many bodies in a small place talking, laughing. She'd never set foot in the place past noon, rather put off by the crowds.

The bartender was very stern and solid man. It was always best to employ certain types of characters when dealing with a bar setting. The possibility of the need and skill of stopping a fight is always in the air. Not that Eiji ever gave anyone trouble, if anything he was a rather pleasant.. customer, so to speak. "Aw come ooooon~. it's just one more." Eiji brought up again, this time in a more whiny tone. A heavy, coarse sigh escaped the bartenders lungs as he placed a mug down in front of Eiji. "This is all you're getting tonight. Either take it or leave it." The mug that was left behind was filled with the weakest thing the bar had, an insult to a heavy drinker. "See? Now that wasn't so ha-wait. What the hell am I supposed to do with this?!" He questioned as he grabbed and rose the mug, lightly swirling the liquid contents inside. "My cat won't even get enjoyment out of this!" Eiji was far from amused. He had no intention on drinking it either. He simply passed it off to the drunk next to him.
The bar was always such a lively place at this time of day. Chances are those that were just coming in were already smashed so it'd make good fun for those that already inhabit the tables. Playful chatter could be heard throughout the bar. "You hear that everybody?! Drinks are on this guy tonight!" Eiji shouted as he wrapped an arm around the guy next to him, who was already too wasted to really know what was going on. The unfortunate guy replied back in the same fashion as everyone else, "Yeeeeeeeeeeeah!" Eiji picked up the weak drink to make a toast and cheered before placing it back next to the drunk. During the cheering he made sure to steal another guys, more powerful, drink; the guy didn't seem to notice.
There are certain levels to being drunk, some that affect your mind and some that affect your body; and then there are levels that affect both. "C'mon Sumu. Time to go!" He called to his cat who was already on his left shoulder waiting. Rising from his seat he stumbled into another chair, regaining his footing quickly. Both the guy he almost ran into and himself started laughing. "Haaaa must've got up to fast. See Sumu? This is why you gotta take it slow." Sumu was hardly amused but went along with it anyway, meowing in his ear.
Eiji eventually stumbled out the door of the Ichi-Koi Inn and Bar. It was quite an enjoyable evening. A few shout outs and playful banter came out from the bar atmosphere to Eiji, who replied back with a witty remark, causing both the lunarians in the bar and himself to break out laughing again. It was probably something stupid but who's really judging these things? Sumu's ears flicked as they picked up the sound of someone drawing near, turning his head in the direction of the sound.

The pace of the young woman slowed ever so slightly at the sounds of cheering and uproar coming from the door of the inn just up the road. Hesitating for just a moment, startled by the surge of noise, before carrying onward. It did make her wonder from time to time what it might be like to join in all the supposed fun. She didn't understand the appeal, but she couldn't deny the occasional ping of longing that plagued her when fell witness to others enjoying themselves in broad company. It was during these rare occasions that she found herself resentful towards the unique circumstances surrounding her childhood and upbringing. She understand why it had been, but she cursed the lack of attention from those that should have meant most.
The pleasant mood she'd been in had dipped south. No longer quite so upbeat or happy, but more calm, bordering on bitterness and jealousy. She envied the living their various bonds, and while her heart beat, and she was certainly alive, she failed to understand the means in which others connected with each other. The spirits of the dead did not value the same traits as those of the living, did not behave the same as they had when alive, and she had only them to learn from while growing up.
Cool eyes stared towards the front of the Ichi-Koi Inn, Watching the shadows that crossed the windows and the open door. Listening to the music that rolled softly through the street. She gave another pause in her step as a figure emerged from the entrance. Stumbling, but more or less making it down the step and onto the road. He seemed to Shin either quite intoxicated, or pathetically daft.
He was younger, around her own age, and she wondered if maybe she hadn't seen him before at the academy. There was a sort of vague familiarity to him. She didn't often recognize her classmates outside of school, but she'd begun, as of late, to pay attention to the faces around her. She'd run into far to many unknown peers, and she didn't like being so ill informed. She didn't notice the cat perched on his shoulder at first, but the unique shine of it's eyes as it turned to look at her caught her attention. She regarded the feline with an interested glance, watching it as she approached. Animals she liked.

Sumu’s gaze remained fixated upon the female lunarian. Whatever she did Sumu would be aware of. The chants between Eiji and the bar goers died down at this point and it was time for him to stop blocking the entrance; not that he was currently blocking it from anyone to begin with. His fingers interlocked as he stretched upwards with a moan, palms towards the sky, before shaking them to the side. Sumu made a low moaning sound which caught Eiji’s attention. ”What is it my furry friend? he questioned as he slid his hand along his neck under Sumu, palming his belly and swinging him around in front of him. The feline moaned again and kept his focus towards the female lunarian who was growing nearer. ”Hm?” Eiji brought Sumu closer to his own head and with both heads touching turned his own to line up with Sumus. ”You see something of interest?
...
Oh!”
Eiji finally became aware of the others presence, though unlike the guys he just left this one seemed a bit... quieter. Given he couldn’t see her clear enough to make a final judgement call but to his knowledge of what he can see she didn’t look like a very easily excitable women. Sumu’s tail flicked as he was in the process of being dangled in the air. His job was done for the most part, he did not need to tolerate Eiji’s delay in realizing things anymore. Wiggle as he might Eiji wasn’t letting go. “Meeyaaaah” Sumu meowed, his own patience growing thin. Eiji ignored the cry and continued to look at the girl. She wasn’t that bad to look at, he will admit, and began to wonder what she was doing out her by herself. Though, he would have preferred if she was a bit more perky. Quiet lunarians need to be taught to be more lively.
Finally answering to Sumu’s complaints he placed him back onto his shoulder; which he quickly got himself situated again, but brought his focus back to the girl. Eiji leaned his head to the side where Sumu was, ”D’you think we should go greet our new friend? he rhetorically asked him with a smirk, before starting to walk into her direction.

Sea foam eyes narrowed on the luminous stare of the cat, suspicion etching in faint lines across dark features. She liked animals, but she didn't like being scrutinized, not by other lunarians, not by opinionated cats. Her pace slowed, from sure-footed quickness to something much more leisurely. her cool gaze flicked from the cat, to the owner of the shoulder it was currently perched on. Taking a moment to truly look at him, rather then simply in passing.
He was tall, skin as dark as her own, but less warm in tone. Scales dark and vivid and she was reminded of the colorful fish that dwell in the various ponds situated within the Xia family grounds. Aesthetically, he was pleasing to the eye, certainly not unattractive, but from the languid expression and exaggerated features she found it very unlikely that intelligence was among his list of valuable assets.
Glossed lips pursed in thoughtful consideration, but twitched quickly into a small frown as the young man scooped up the cat, and using it as a means to focus, finally noticed her. She continued forward without pause, but the sweep of her shoulders took on a decidedly less relaxed appearance. Not obviously tensed, but there was a subtly noticeable tightness to the set of them. Not wishing to appear as though she'd been staring, she dropped her gaze, looking forward, though the occasional sidelong glance was unavoidable.
He was definitely watching her now, and she was inept at reading his expressions to see the deeper meaning or intent beneath them. Too Shin, a smile was a smile. If there were deeper meaning behind an expression, she was blind to it, and that was a very serious social handicap.

((Pardon in advance for the short and bleh reply. xD I gotta get back into the rhythm of rping again since I haven't done so since I vanished. Hopefully it shouldn't be that difficult. @A@))
If Sumu had more lunarianistic eyes he'd be rolling them now. Too many times had he dealt with Eiji's antics and he not once complained. Now it's such a common occurrence it because categorized as "normal". What a perfect partner to have, huh?
Upon the female's gaze putting distance between the two, Eiji bent slightly into her view each time. His goal, to simply put it; to purposely be in her line of sight. After all, it may be one thing to try and not bring notice after a stare but to avoid eye contact all together only arises more suspicion. Than and it's just plain rude! If they were in a crowd he could understand but when it's just the two of them out on this road? Inexcusable! It's only natural to focus on the only other living thing isn't it? Then again, it may just be safer to avoid contact with anyone when no one else is around all together.
Ungh... Ah screw it. I'm tired of this.. He thought to himself with an internal groan. First off, what drunken individual would voluntarily set forth on a repetitious physical activity such as walking. Why waste the energy heading towards the girl when she was walking to him anyway? Approving his own plan Eiji stopped walking. As if it was an apology for stopping he gave her a wave short after. "Beautiful night out isn't it, hon?"

Much as she'd tried to avoid his eye after staring it seemed the young man had other plans. Leaning sideways every time she'd dropped her gaze so no matter where she looked she couldn't help but see him and the leisurely grin, if only in her peripheral. It was just shy if disconcerting, and Shin-mu couldn't help the subtle wash of color that crept up along her cheeks. First his cat, and now him. Why did they have to stare at her so thoroughly. It was making the proud noble down right subconscious, and that was not a feeling she was used to, nor appreciated.
He stopped in the middle of the street to watch her, and she actually sped her pace so she would pass him quickly, only to slow once again when he spoke to her. The annoyed frown slipping at the use of such a familiar endearment from an absolute stranger. It had pale brows raising inquiringly. "Pardon?" She frowned again, but look up and then around them. It actually was a lovely night out, but she hadn't exactly been paying attention to her surroundings as she walked home. "Yes, I suppose it is."
She tried to offer him back a smile, feeling as though she ought to considering he'd been smiling at her this whole time. Fairly certain there was some social rule that dictated a smile be returned, though she couldn't for the life of her think as to where she'd heard or read that. The smile itself was a little on the wilted side and didn't even come close to reaching her eyes, but she was trying.
She didn't often speak to others, let alone oddly behaving strangers referring to her as 'hon'. She really wasn't sure what was going on, or how to respond to it. When she drew close to him she slowed to a stop, folding arms across her own stomach. She wanted to go home, but now that they'd spoken it would have been rude to just walk away.
