According to AnimeNewsNetwork, Funimation has acquired the license to distribute Hellsing OVAs V-VII in 2011.

This really is great news, although one can't help but wonder how long it's going to take them to procure the license for OVA VIII and on.

AnimeNewsNetwork
Funimation also announced the 2011 licenses of Darker than BLACK Season 2, Shakugan no Shana (season 2, movie, OVA), Toaru Majutsu no Index, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail, Hellsing Ultimate volumes 5-7, and the Trigun: Badlands Rumble film.

Right there, for the reading impaired. stare

It is disappointing that we have to wait until 2011, but it doesn't specify exactly when, so it could be as early as January. The important thing is that they're coming.

We've had the manga. We need what we haven't had yet. We need OVAs V-VII in English.

In all technicality, we've had the manga for well over a year. DarkHorse's official translation of the manga isn't all that different from the fan translations (actually, in some ways, it's worse). That's why I'm not especially excited to have Volume 10; it's great to have a complete collection, but I've already read it countless times.

Watching the OVAs in English is a completely different experience (even if it's not always a better one) than watching it in Japanese with subtitles.

Finally! This is great news! I was wondering why they were taking so long to dub. I was worried that they weren't going to do it because I've been hearing a lot of rumors about all sorts of things (Transformers Animated, for example) being canceled because of people watching them online instead of buying them or watching them on TV and I thought that they might have canceled the distribution of the OVA's for a similar reason. Then again, it's a little silly for me to think that just because it's taking a long time.

Well I think they'll still be dubbing until it ends even if people just wacth it online because a number of people upload it. That means that a number of people bought it. And even if it didn't finish and it ended early the voice actors wouldn't be jobless. Take Goku's voice actor for exemple. Even though DBZ ended he found work in Berserk by playing Gaston. And it's not like there only company that could be doing bad because of that. And we can only help by buying the offcial licensed realses. Like suggested in this Webpage Title

If I recall correctly, Crispin Freeman (Alucard's English voice actor) claims that the reason Geneon USA went under was because too many people were watching their titles on the Internet instead of buying them. However, I can't say for certain. In any case, the voice actors would never be out of a job just because the English dub of Hellsing was canceled (it's not like that's the only thing they've ever done). There will always be work out there for them.

Geneon, formerly Pioneer, is the company that produces and distributes the Hellsing OVA (among other things). The American branch of the company went bankrupt (if it hadn't, we would've had OVAs V, VI, and VII a long, long time ago) and the Japanese branch merged with Universal, becoming Geneon Universal.
