It had been a while since the last proper candidate lesson (proper being the key word) and O'rer decided that all his recruits, the new ones especially, needed to be refreshed on what they'd been learning for the past Turn or so. Newcomers obviously couldn't refresh on anything, but he ignored that thought and moved along.
With eggs on the sands, two different clutches each hardening under the watchful eye of their mother, this was even more important now than before - and from her perch outside the Weyrbowl his lifemate Hitath crooned in agreement. So many, too many, were new to the Weyr and fresh from search, and it would do them all a world of good to cover the basics at least one more time.
Seeing as the weather was nice and Hitath had calmly suggested that an outfoor lesson would be more fitting O'rer had sent notice out to all candidates the previous day to meet him bright and early in the Weyrbowl. Tardiness would not be tolerated, his note had said, and as the sun stated to peek over the horizon the Greenrider Candidatemaster was all set to begin his review. All he could say for what he had in store was that, for their sakes, no one had better arrive late or looking messy and sleepy. They all needed to be ready to learn and anyone not following the rules would be subject to chores beyong their early morning scope of understanding. O'rer would see that it happened if he had anything to say about it.
Calm yourself Mine, they are arriving now. I shall greet them as they approach, and let them know you are ready.
The Green sat up from where she'd been somewhat laying down, and a sharp bugle of welcome pierced the air along with her call of greetings into the minds of the approaching Candidates.
IC notes: Candiatemaster O'rer of Green Hitath is still fairly new to his position, having replaced the former Master for unknown reasons. He is a rather mousy looking man, though he is somewhat infamous for handing out punishments that don't quite fit the crime, and is particularly harsh on those that don't follow orders well. He is quite young for a Candidatemaster at only 30 Turns, but is well qualified.
Green Hitath is a very small green, if not currently one of the smallest in the Weyr. She is of a very gentle disposition and is well known for talking to anyone and everyone - rider and non-rider alike. In terms of age, she is 9 Turns old.
OOC Notes: This RP will run for one week, though it will occur ICly in the span of a few hours. Extended until July 16th There is no post order, but try not to get out of hand. If you want to interact directly with O'rer and/or Hitath, be patient and you will be responded to.

Farellen turned out to the lesson properly, after the time he and Salin had been punished for being late he made sure that he was on time for lessons. He smiled as the Green bugled in a seemingly welcome manner, bowing a little to her *glorious day my dear Hitath* he sent and spoke, hoping she'd deign to listen. "Good day Master O'rer" he said and brushed himself down a little, suddenly feeling nervous.

Salin came following shortly on Farellen's heels, adjusting the last detail of his outfit as he walked, which was tightening the scarf around his hair. For once he'd worn nothing more exciting than a white tunic, which made his purple scarf and his dark skin stand out. The warning not to be late had caught his attention, and he was determined that this time they really weren't going to get into trouble. Cleaning out the stables last time had been bad enough, he didn't need to get in trouble with O'rer. Not having Farellen's habit of trying to send to other peoples dragons, he gave her a polite nod of respect as she bugled, and nodded to O'rer. "Good morning, Sir."
-------
Saekagi: As one of the newer, transferred recruits, Saekagi felt in particular that the warnings against being late were directed at him, and he arrived only steps behind the others, fidgeting habitually with his hair, which was growing out slowly to partially cover the scars that sliced up and down one side of his face and the corner of his mouth. He was also chewing anxiously at the mostly healed scar on his lip, biting delicately at the still red, angry mark as he tried to look invisible, though his behavior probably had something of the opposite effect.
His previous chat with Gabriel at the tables had helped, but He was still anxious of drawing too much attention.

Nasuymi had ordered Camm to go off with the other flits. Though she had stood before, it had been a while and her name was one of the ones that had been called for Candidate lessons. It was a fairly easy walk to the Weyrbowl and the crisp clean air did her good as far as wakening her senses. She was not one who needed to live off of Klah! She saw several boys in front of her and snorted. Of course, they would be the most eager to make an impression. Just be and do. The girl came up to the Candidate Master, O'rer, she believed his name to be and gave her greeting. "Morning thar' Candid'Master. Thank ye fer holdin' lesson. Mornin to yer dragon as well."
Greeting given, Nasuymi slid off to the side where she would have a good view but not be so close to the others. The girls weren't so bad unless they were gossipy girls but for some reason, the older boys no matter how nice they were always grated slightly on her nerves. Especially if they reminded her of her older brother. Nasuymi was told she was going to have to curb that uneast but it wasn't easy.

"Good morning, everyone~!" Gabriel greeted aloud as she entered the Weyrbowl. The young teen was far too energetic and chipper for this obscene time of day, but her cheerful state was not without good reason; her mind was on the upcoming Hatching. The greeting from the small Green also helped to considerably brighten up her mood. "Good morning, Hitath. O'rer," she greeted back politely before joining the others. From the start she was able to identify three familiar male faces. "Heya, guys! Ready for our lesson?" she asked with a grin. Then, placing her hand across her mouth to hide it from view and leaning in toward Farellen and Salin as if to tell a secret, she said, "Sorry, don't think we'll be doing any notes today." She certainly would not want a repeat of their previous punishment anytime soon. 'Conspiratorial' message passed, she turned her head back Saekagi's way and gave him an encouraging smile.

Kytara trailed behind the group dragging her heels as she did her best to scope out a secluded position that offered a decet vantage point as well. With a disheartened sigh she realized that it would be nearly impossible to avoid the growing crowd. She tipped her head in greeting to both the green and her rider. "Morning." It was a quiet and soft sort of greeting. She found a spot that offered her a bit of seclusion and stood fidgeting. She had left her journal in her room so she could try and focus on the lesson at hand. She trusted her memory to keep track of anything that may happen. She recognized a few of the faces in the crowd, but no one that she felt comfortable approaching.

"Really?" Salin noted, under his breath, grinning as he settled in, and elbowing Gabriel slightly. He caught her grin toward the other boy in the back, shooting him a curious but brief glance, long enough to blink in surprise at the marks on his face and turn his attention back to the front.

"Not unless you wish to test out the wrath of the new guy," Gabriel replied in a return whisper, smirking slightly as she returned the elbowing. "Stable cleaning isn't the only nasty chore to be done around here after all." Candidates were still wandering in, and the teen couldn't help but wonder whether the class would start exactly on time, or instead wait until it was mostly full. She just hoped that her current energy would be able to last her through the review lesson, cause somehow she didn't think that falling asleep during the class would be taken very kindly... "Oi, you're still wearing the purple scarf?" she remarked with a small laugh, just noticing the accessory. "I thought you would be giving your hair a break away from the dye."

Nithan had not wanted to go to the lesson to begin with, of course it wasn't exactly his choice. It had taken a little bit of time to convince Glint to remain watching over his things and not following him, that little gold was more stubborn than any girl he'd ever met to be sure, but once the flit seemed to get the message and curl up for a nap he headed off.
He managed to be mostly polite in nodding to the Candidate Master before entering the room and having a look around. Hm, who to grace with his presence. A timid looking girl candidate caught his eye, and he strides over to stand near her. "Hiding against the wall? That's not the way to make an impression on these people. I don't think I've seen your face around before, name's Nithan, what's yours?" He offers what is to him one of his best grins.

So far the candidates had all been prompt, something that pleased the Candidatemaster though one would have been hard pressed to tell by the perma-frown on his face, and it was with sure steps that he strode in a line across while scanning his prospective Riders. From her perch only a bit away Hitath was watching as well, her eyes dancing merrily with shades of blue and green. She had been pleased to find that someone had greeted her back after her vocal and somewhat less vocal call out, and she took the time to greet the boy back - after asking Hers what his name was, of course. O'rer knew the name and face of each of the candidates he oversaw - not knowing them would be the same as asking him to swallow Thread.
Well met, small called Farellen. Prosper well. My greetings to you as well, small called. . . .Gabriel.
"If you're quite done talking amongst yourselves you'll find that it's already past time to start the lesson. Unless you're more than willing to stand out here in the tall of the sun and get burned, then I suggest you all fall silent and listen when spoken to. As for you Gabriel-"
Yes, he knew her name. He had to tell Hitath it somehow.
"You'll address me as Candidatemaster. I don't recall ever being on such friendly terms with you that my name can be used without a proper title. From all of you here assembled, who amongst you can tell me why we're here today?"

Kytara figeted a bit more as Nithan joined her. She vaguely recognized him from around. From what she had seen he was a bully of guy who took pleasure in pushing others around. She did her best to shrink away from him as he told her his name. Nithan. I must keep that in mind so I can avoid him. She shifted her weight to her other foot and nodded a greeting to him. "Kytara."
She jumped a bit as O'rer spoke. She hadn't expected them to start yet. She was certain he would wait for the rest of the stragglers. She bit her lip and focused her attention on him hoping that Nithan would do the same.

Whoops, that had been a bit of a slip on her part. Ah well, she'd make a mental note not to be so carelessly casual again in the future. Figuring that the Candidatemaster probably didn't want to hear from her so soon again, the teen decided to stay quiet and see if anyone else would answer his given question. Surely one would speak up, right? Hm... I do hope Mossy behaves herself while I'm busy. I'd rather not find that she and Zevra caused a mess with Farellen's things again... although that was pretty funny actually. Her attention tended to waver on occasion, as was most likely such with many students.

Saykiro woke up to the gold flit chirping at him. "What is it n...OH NO!" He couldn't believe it he was late. He rushed putting on his clothes, making sure that they were neat and clean on him. Ishbel was riding on his shoulder as he ran out, heading to the lesson, and went back to their room after showing Saykiro an image of food later. He smiled as she took off for more food. He walked in right as O'rer was telling them what to call him. He knew he would have some nasty details to do, but that was the price he has to pay for being late.

Farellen was so surprised at the fact green Hitath actually sopke to him, his jaw dropped "she....she spoke back?" he mumbled. He was so distracted in fact he barely noticed the other canidiates arriving.
He snapped out of it as Gabriel spoke to him "OH! Gaberiel, Salin! hooray for not being late!" he called over, before moving closer to his friends, "so what do you think of the new candidatemaster?" he whispered to them, trying not to look in O'rer's direction. He shifted nervously on the spot as he thought over what the lesson was going to be today.
Farellen jumped a little as the Candidatemaser spoke "yes Candidatemaster Sir!" he said quietly, trying desperately to figure out what the lesson today was supposed to be, this was one man he didn't want to dissapoint, he had a funny feeling about this master.

Salin shot Farellen a look of unmasked surprise at his friends shocked murmur regarding the candidate-master's tiny, green, whose small size was apparently clever camouflage for large surprises. If her rider was half as surprising, lessons might be far more interesting than they had been for a while now. After the greenriders admonition though, he merely gave a hasty shrug regarding his thoughts on the man. He'd know more later.
---
"Is it about the touching, sir?" Saekagi was, honestly, just guessing. The man could have started at any point in the lessons he sharding pleased, and for all he knew, might change his mind just to be contrary, but as far as he was aware, there hadn't yet been a touching of the eggs on the sands, and with the whisperings and mutterings he could still hear, the Candidate-master might well feel a need to go over the rules of the hatching sands again before any of them were allowed near the eggs.
