Dante was, much the same, on his way home at this hour - though the older stallion's 'home' tended to shift around quite a bit lately. He had yet to find anyplace that he particularly wanted to settle down in. So he tended to travel here and there, picking a new spot to bed down every few weeks - or sometimes days.
Really, he had no idea that he had offspring trotting about, much less so very close to him. The red-coated male tended to 'entertain' and drop mares with the same frequency that he moved sleeping spots. Not out of any desire to be cruel or shallow, though. It was just... he had yet to meet a single female that he felt truly comfortable with. That he felt he could share his life with in every way possible.
He sighed softly at that, then shook his head with a little snort. Best not to think about that just now. Glancing up, he spotted another stallion moving along under the darkening skies. It looked like they were likely to cross paths here in a few minutes. And though usually, Dante might not bother striking up conversation with someone he didn't even know ... there was something about the other that seemed familiar. So he moved a bit faster - and was thus waiting for the other over a small hill.

Balgen had been slowly picking up speed as he nearly reached the top of the hill. After this, he knew the rest of the trip would be fast down the hill and then smooth sailing across the plains to the river. He had been rather focused in his thoughts, but he always found running or sliding downhill to feel exceptionally exhilarating. The fresh evening air rippled through his mane, it gently twisted up his nostrils, and it finished its caress with a twirl to his tail.
Sliding to a hault near the bottom of the hill, his ruby red eyes flicked across catching something red. It was a whole lot of red. It was about as red as his own eyes which were almost the color of blood. He stopped for a moment, clomped a foot on the ground to shake out his wristlet. He immediately had a slightly encouraged opinion of this other traveler. With the rise in kalona and skinwalkers in the world, only the truly brave would go out at night like this.
He donned his debonair smile and stopped by the other. "Evening brave soul. We all would do well not to tarry in the night. Many an evil thing lurks out and about. Do you have a place you are on your way too?" Of course, this last question wasn't his business. However, a good gentleman and always chivalrous would feel compelled to make sure others were safe. Balgen was no exception. He wanted to be sure this other gentlemanly traveler would find lodging. If necessary, Balgen would bring him to Gabriela's camp.. even if just for one night. Still, that was thinking a little too far ahead of him.
