It had been a few days since Niamh had taken to living with Mallow at the secret group hangout. Lately, most of Mallow's minions had been finding other places of refuge. Mallow decided to give them some slack since she was too busy to knock heads together. What kind of minions don't report to their boss?
She had ran into Niamh by what seemed coincidence. She also hadn't discovered Niamh's inner goddess either. Still, the light Nia gave off was irrefutable to Mallow. Mallow sat outside the secret fox hole den which was quite large. She had dug it out herself. It was beneath a great oak tree. The tree made for a great ceiling. The roots were thick and sometimes spread out. The only down side to this was if a critter started digging in the smaller gaps; they would find their way in. Even once in a while, Mallow would return to the tree just before dawn to find one or two randoms in there. She'd either kick them out or threaten to eat them.
With Nia sleeping there as of late, Mallow had taken to making patrols around the tree around dusk and dawn. She would make sure other rodents and burrowing animals didn't barge in on their sanctuary. Though no amount of vigilance was to prepare her for the things that were coming.
For though she was growing attached feelings to the rainbow goddess, she wasn't committed or smitten in love. She wasn't particular between genders to be promiscuous with. They just had to meet her taste and be dastardly. Well, Nia wasn't dastardly, but Mallow made an exception for her.
While contemplating her feelings for Nia, she had been tracing tribal symbols in the dirt. She craned her head around to peek in the hole. "Everything ok down here?"

Vampire had been happily swimming under the dulling light when suddenly he heard footsteps rushing towards him, sinking into the water so that onlt his eyes where visable he watched and waited a three creatures ran away in fear -interesting he thought, what scared them so badly? But his thoughts where quickly disturbed when they started splashing and play in his lake, how dare they! Anger bubbled quickly to Vampires surface, he hated it when lesser creatures dared to invade his space. Surfacing again he glared at them and spoke only a three words. "One warning. Leave." They left -quickly! Vampire was known to be a man of few words, especially to those creatures who were below him -which he had to admit seemed to be all of them lately. Annoyed and no longer feeling like swimming he made his way back to the shore and started to walk up a hill. When he got there he found a large Oak tree, with spindly branches that reached out like hands ready to strike, it had a nobbly gnawled trunk that twisted so many times it looked truely evil. How wonderful. Delighted by his find he circled it a few times and noticed there was a hole leading under its roots. What a shame it was already claimed by a lesser creature. He let out a long sigh and then simply moved to the opposite side of the tree and sat down. Even if another had claim he would love to see them dare attempt to move him, after all he was not officially in their home or territory and even if he was he was positive he would win in a fight. Placing his head on his front paws he looked down the hill and watched as the creatures he had scared off his lake where still running away into the distance. It was only then that he remembered they had come from this direction to start with. Maybe there was something around here as bad arse as him? He could only hope.

Niamh yawned and stretched out. She had very much enjoyed the last few days. Staying with Mallow had been wonderful. She felt safe and happy with somewhere to stay and someone to talk to. Mallow called out to her and she got up and went to the entrance of the home, "Everything's good. How's everything out there?" Nia walked outside and stretched again. He fur seemed to glow and her jewelry made little chiming noises. It was very nice out.
Nia loved it out here. The wildlife was active and it was mostly peaceful. She glanced at Mallow, she had to admit she felt a pull towards this fox. Something inside her told her she was needed here. Not that she minded at all.
Hearing something, Nia walked around the giant tree slowly, "Hello? Someone there?" She turned back and looked at Mallow, "Someone's here."

Mallow was running the tip of a paw along the points of her horns and along the fangs of her bone mask. Sharp as ever! Wonderful...This pleased her very much. She thought she heard something, but since she couldn't pinpoint what it was, she just moved slow and guarded.
Niamh's voice had nearly startled her; not that anyone could tell. After all, Mallow rarely flinched or trembled. Trembling usually accompanied laughter for her. She then watched the white tiger walk around.
Hearing someone was there... SO, she did hear something. She wondered why that animal didn't have a more... distinctive smell. She softly got up and pawed over to stand by Nia. She prepared a paw. She flung her claws out at their max length. She waited to see who it was.
The black and white fox was a stranger to her. "Who are you? What is your name? You might want to have permission to habitat at this here tree. It's mine. I claimed it."

Lazily Vampire looked up as two strange figures approached him, the claws of one of them was ready to strike. Licking his lips he made no attempt to move or even flinch. It was worthless... just like those before him now. They would have to prove themselves before he changed his mind, and that never happened often.
At first Vampire had contemplated simply ignoring the questions but instead he asked one of his own. He refused to a pawn in someone else tale -no, Vampire always did things his way. Always did and always would. "And who are..." he looked the darker of the two who had dared to threaten him with her claws, what a pathetic attempt to intimidate him. It would take more, much more. "...you who dare disturb my rest?" He cocked an eyebrow up at her and simply watched.
Vampire was a very patient hunter. He would wait as long as it needed. He was use to getting his own way, and far as he cared today would be no different.

Niamh looked at the black and white fox. She wasn't scared, not at all. Even if he threatened her or Mallow her powers would take care of him. He looked scary and acted like he was above them.
Nia moved closer to the mysterious fox, curious. Why was he here? Was he alone? Hurt? Lost? She felt like there was more to him then he let on. "What's you're name? I'm Niamh, but you can call me Nia." She smiled warmly. She looked over at Mallow.

While Niamh was pleasant and gentle, Mallow was guarded and extremely offensive. His insolence gave her a strong sense of indignation. What!!! The golden moons in her dark eye sockets glowered with the rage. Who did this petulent mongrel think that he is????
Mallow went from the slow cautious approach to a powerful, angry, but still confident to approach. She came straight up to be right in front of him. She got close enough to allow herself to crane her face into his face should she want to rip his face off with her bare teeth. OH YES.. She was feeling that primal urge to just brawl with him as she would any other a*****e who dared to try to take her on.
Then, she caught herself. She had nearly forgot Nia was still here with her. Though she was about to see that the goddess could do all and well for herself, Mallow still was unaware of that truer nature. She didn't want to freighten Nia with her violence and malevolent measures to keep her home to herself. Would she make herself a monster in front of this new friend? Well.. in truth, Mallow was a monster at time. It wasn't by chance she found the skeleton and animal remains she adorned herself with....
She snarled at the black fox. "Your ignorance is not going to save you. The only reason you are even sitting here without blood pouring from your face is that my kind and gentle friend is here. Otherwise, I would have devoured your body as a late night snack in punishment of your disrespectful tone. How dare you not answer me when you are asked a question. I am the Malicious Mallow... Master and Overlord of the Marshmallow Village... I have claimed this tree for three moons. If you think you have any right to be here... I'll take your heart still beating out of your chest!"
Ok. She had clearly gone overboard. Still.. his attitude was just pushing all the right buttons. They were driving her insane. She just was not about to tolerate it for one second. Even if Nia was present. Gosh, she hoped she wouldn't scare that pretty thing away.

Niamh watched Mallow explode with anger. She could tell she was holding back....sort of. Nia kinda enjoyed Mallow's protectiveness. She didn't say anything during Mallow's monologue, but waited.
Nia looked at the fox and waited for his reaction. Making sure he didn't see, Nia wrapped her tail around Mallow's. She thought that she would appreciate the comfort or knowledge that Nia was with her, but probably didn't want to show any weakness around this stranger.

Vampire actually laughed at this creature before him, she had some spirit he would give her that, but unlike her and her stupidity he knew better than to simply rush into a fight. And her actions and tones certainly requested one -although he could tell she was holding back? This female beside her perhaps. Although the white creature had obviously hoped not to be noticed (and he had to admit he couldn't see their tails entwined) the attitude of both gave them away.
Standing up with a satisfied grin upon his face he looked between them. "Mallow...." He paused as if to think. "....never heard of you." Ok, so now he was just tormenting them on purpose. Either way you looked at it, they have BOTH answered his question and he was yet to answer any, part of him was tempted to keep it that way a little longer just to observe their reactions -he was in a good mood despite the events of today.
Yet her words had given him a reason to. He would not let this insignificant little rat the opportunity to believe she was the most powerful creature here, especially since she backed down from a challenge and so they never got to decide for sure. Locking his eyes with the darkened and yellow ones of Mallow his own darkned green shimmered in the growing darkness. They where the only colour on his entire pelt and a lot of people found them disturbing. "As for my body and heart," he licked his lips, "I believe both are forever safe." He continued to watch her for a moment before looking at the white creature and cocking his head, "Unlike you little Mallow," he spat each word out, "I have no obvious weakness. You see. I am Vampire. So old and famous that most make up tales believing that I could not be just a single creature" He turned to Mallow once more. "Yet here I stand. So watch your mouth or I will take your tongue." and drink your blood but he decided it was best not to add that part.
Despite everything Vampire was in quiet a good mood. He enjoyed 'playing' with his prey, these creatures where just lucky that he had eaten before his swim.

Mallow was gauging his every move and gesture. Not once did she flinch or back down. Still, she was starting to feel both pissed and indignant. Man.. Boy, was this guy an a*****e or what! She was real close to the pot calling the kettle black since of course Mallow was a total heinous b***h in her own rite.
She started to catch herself as well. His laugh made her inwardly rebuke herself for getting so riled up to begin with. She was totally ready to go toe to toe with this jerk. His condescending warnings didn't really put her off.
At his proclamation of how untouchable he felt himself, she just rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth. Then, she slid her eyes back to him. The direct eye contact from him was rather impressive. Her eyes responded to it with her sitting down more calmly and held his gaze. Oh yeah.. Staring contest..it was on now... She could stare em down with the best of them.
Then, she realized she felt Nia's tail. She gently untwined her tail. Without breaking her eye contact, she brushed a paw to Nia and tried to tell her diplomatically. "Thanks, but I'm good. I don't like being touched much. Especially when I'm on the brink of breaking someone's face off."
She flicked her tail then contemplatively to either side of herself. Mallow wasn't taking him too seriously, but his ability to maintain such strong and powerful eye contact surprised her. The leader in her personality was starting to take control. Such controlled characteristics. Perhaps... he would make another great minion. A Great Mallow could never have too many of those.
Then, she grinned and opened her maw. She hung her tongue down in front of him playfully. "So hard to watch one's mouth. Makes you cross eyed." Smartassing... there went her defensive mode.

Niamh looked back and forth between Mallow and Vampire. They both seemed to be playing with each other. She did not understand their form of play nor did she enjoy it very much. Both of them had very good qualities in themselves but would rather use them to fight or scare others. Sighing, Nia just stayed quiet and watched. Plus she had to admit she felt a little outcast by their strong and violent personalities.

Vampire watched the two females before him and as the one named Mallow continued to threaten him he found the impulse to yawn so irresistible that he did it with a lazy wink to Niamh while Mallow could not see and then focused once again on Mallow.
Her comment about watching her mouth, although smartarse strangely pleased him. Yet again she had done what he asked -even if she had done it so literally. "At least you know your place little Mallow. Following a mans orders." He flicked his tail softly from side to side and then walked towards Niamh. "So quiet, I must admit I admire that in a woman." He bowed his head softly to her -he could be devonair when he wanted to, it was just a rare thing.
Yet he had known from the moment he had lay eyes on the creature that there was something different about this woman -a goddess of some sort perhaps? How interesting this little act was getting. He flashed her a smile, part of him hoping it would enrage Mallow even more just for fun, "...and such a beautiful woman at that. Don't let this creature control you. Come to the darkside." He leaned towards her and pretended he was going to n** her cheek but he fell just a little short so that she could only feel the warmth of his breath upon her cheek. "I will show you what fun really is."

Mallow hissed at him for his comments. Her eyes narrowed with extreme hostility. She started to slow her pace even more. To be honest, she wasn't always the most able to mince words, especially on the fly. If she had time to prepare to smooth someone over; she could work up something amazing to charm them.
However, in her own natural element, she was rather aggressive. Her eyes cut to Niamh. Her eyes were quickly enraged when he was playing so close with her. What a nerve... Man.. this one was asking for it.
"For your information," She yelled out to him. "I don't control her. She is free to go whenever she wants. She is here because she chose to be here. I didn't bring her here to show her a good time. I brought her here to keep her safe, a*****e."
She sneered and started to lick her claws keeping an eye on him. Deep down, Mallow believed that there was something about Niamh that was different. In the time she had been with Mallow, Mallow realized that for her to only have just come to her in the forest. Anyone who survives this long in the forest must have some ability others don't know about.
Mallow waited and gauged what it was she should do. She wanted to give Niamh time to shine. This could be a determining factor if Mallow invited her into the growing entourage.

Niamh was really getting sick of their bickering. She understood somehow these two were important to her but it was getting to the point that Nia wanted to run away. She had enough. Looking at Vampire she snarled, "Watch your tongue little boy. You're playing with fire that you have no concept of. I could squash you like a bug." She took a deep breath, "Mallow doesn't control me, no one does."
Nia looked away. She couldn't believe she freaked out. Mallow and Vampire's emotions were causing havoc with her powers. She really needed an outlit. She'd kept her powers hidden for quite awhile now.

Vampire simply grinned at the responces of both females, it was rare that anyone stood up to him, and he found himself...... impressed. Well almost.
Unable to stop himself he said, "Why thank you - I like being an arse, plus playing with fire is my speciality." He winked softly, he wasn't stupid enough to not feel the power radiating off these two, especially the white one, Niamh.
Laughing he hoped to break some of the tension, he was still more than up for a fight but something about their reactions was holding his interest and when coupled with his good mood he was also willing to stand them with him. A rare thing. Rare indeed. Smiling, this time flashing a full smile and two fang teeth that where longer than the rest, he spoke again. "And just so you know fair Niamh - I am not as small as I may appear, so don't knock me until you try me."
He turned to look at Mallow, "So what would you do little Mallow," this time he didn't spit out or enthasise the little, "if I chose to stay?"
