Stripe hopped around the river bank, kicking stones into the rushing river. She watched them slip out of sight. She grinned at the river knowing that the summer's sun would bring her happiness. The weather usually seemed to affect her emotions, sometimes making her a bit wobbly, but the warmth of the sun always brought her happiness, until she began to fry under the heat. Her farther was suited to colder temperatures, but Stripe had grown up here and she was just fine.
She picked up her hooves and trotted to the forest for some shade from the sun's rays and to sit once again alone, but it wasn't as if she had a choice, most chose to run from her.

"Hot! Hot! Hot! Hot!" Moam shouted loudly after awakening to the immense heat beating down on his coat. Stupid me for falling asleep in a clearing! He thought. Bolting upright he darted through the trees, searching for the river that could relieve him from the pain.
"I just saw it last night! Where is it?!?!"
He must have been running for several minutes before he finally saw the glimmer of the cool water.
Splash!
Submerging himself up to his neck, Moam sighed, steam rolling off of his body. This was nice... so cool... so relaxing. It was such a beautiful day, besides the heat of course. The water was so clear he could see the fish swimming around him. He dunked his head under, trying to get a better look at some near him. The fish, frightened by the foreign creature, darted off.
Moam rose his head out of the water, chuckling softly at the skittish nature of such small animals.

Stripe quickly turned round to watch a figure dart into the water and wish it was a wave of water which drenched her in a splash. She tried to blink out the water and shook her mane, a flustered look was plastered on her face.
"What was that?" She took a proper look at first the figure seemed to look feline.
'A Skin Walker?! No. A cat?! No.' She realised that in fact it was another soquili. Masked.
She wondered weather to complain and moan at the soquili or to say hello. Would he be polite enough to talk talk to her or shoot off? She slowly lowered herself into the water and headed over to him.

Moam looked up when he heard the gentle sound of water moving in the wake of something. The mask had slipped a tad to cover his eyes during his splashing, so Moam repeatedly tossed his head, struggling to situate the armor back into its place. When he was finally able to free up his vision, his eyes found who it was that entered the water...
It was a beautiful purple mare with a long mane and elegant stripes and markings. Moam started blushing when he realized that the mare was coming towards him. 'I must have startled her... How long has she watched me? I've made a fool of myself playing in the water like a new foal....
Shaking slightly from nerves, he was afraid of what to say. He didn't want to scare her away. So he settled on saying the most simple, non-frightening thing he could say, "Uh... Hello there!"

Stripe smiled and wiggled her tail. "Hello there." She looked at his snakey green eyes,"hot out here huh? My name's Stripe. Who are you?" She spoke as if she were a curious foal meeting someone else for the first time. She blinked observing him,"oh did I startle you? You gave me quite a scare splashing me with water. But I guess I needed a bit of a cool off."

Feeling much better knowing the Mare was friendly, Moam stepped closer to her. Letting out a chuckle, he spoke, "I apologize deeply Ma'am that I splashed you. This heat is scorching!"
Realizing he was staring at her, he quickly averted his eyes to keep from offending her... or even freaking her out. "Stripe eh? That's a very good name for a mare like you! Uh... Where are my manners, I am Moam." He let out a sigh, Ugh, why am I so awkward?

"It is," she beamed, my father can't stand such temperatures. It's all too hot for him. Did you get burnt?" She looked quite concerned not really noticing him stare.
"My dad called me Stripe because I was the only one of his first batch to inherit them", she shyly shrugged,"It's okay Mr.Moam. You weren't being rude to me, besides I'm not like my farther when it comes to manners." She herd him sigh and wondered weather she was boring him,"what's wrong?" She splashed water at him," that's payback", she mischievously smiled,"cheer up?"

Moam smiled at her up-beat nature. "Your father and I are alike then, for I absolutely hate the heat." She cares if I got burnt? He thought to himself. First time someones been considerate of something so small as a sun burn... she's very kind. "Fear not my fair lady, I may have experienced a slight burn, but it is far from hindering." Flashing her a smile.
"Your stripes are very beautiful!" He blurted out, upon hearing her story. He felt water hit his coat, is she splashing him? Recovering from his embarrassment at his little confession, Moam dipped his head under the water and used it to splash her. He beat his wings over the waters surface, attempting to propel more water towards her.

"I can tolerate cold weather better, it can get quite hot here."
"As long as it doesn't give you discomfort I won't fuss", she smiled, what'd he say? Hearing him say her stripes were 'beautiful' she slashed his to disguise her blushing, she wasn't used to compliments or kind talk from strangers...or anyone at all as a matter of fact.
Her small splashes were not match for Moam's waves, some rippling, hissing and spitting at her, wetting her mane.

Moam nodded at her statement, "I enjoy snowy climates much more."
Noticing his waves were becoming a little overwhelming, he quickly stopped. "Sorry about that, I tend to really get into water wars." He chuckled, shaking out his mane. He leisurely splayed his wings across the water, being weighted down by water between the feathers.
Besides the rude awakening by the sun, this was turning out to be quite a wonderful day.

(changing font colour to something brighter haha.)
"I do enjoy the colder climates, they're fun, the snow, being able to slide across the floor rather than walk, but you have to be careful, or else it hurts", stripe made a face displaying what she'd look like falling on her rump.
She splashed him again,"don't be silly, I don't mind. Water is fun. Just not sea water when it gets into your eyes", she momentarily squinted her eyes and then rested them on his wings,"do much flying?"
She realised how rude she must've sounded,"I'm sorry I just get quite nosey, I hope you don't mind." Her eyes hovered around his mask and then to his own lime green eyes, she smiled. 'And I thought I had extraordinary eyes...my pupils are pink for god sake, who has pink pupils?'
She had so many questions so far she had failed to noticed that he was made of rock.

Moam watched her make a facial expression. Chuckling at it, he remembered all the times he had taken quite a spill. If there was one thing good about being a loner, it was that there was no-one who would be able to watch his embarrassing moments.
He took her splashing and comment as an invitation to start splashing again. Only this time he didn't use his wings and was far less violent with the water.
Moam smiled, "I don't mind at all, ask any question you like. I do fly quite a bit, but honestly I do prefer the ground at times. Sometimes when flying, you miss seeing things or experiences that require a good walk or run."
Staring into her pink eyes, he couldn't help but wonder why such a beautiful mare was walking around the forest alone and couldn't help but ask, "Are you far from your home?"

Stripe hid under the water for a while and popped up, splashing him again,"boo!" She giggled and flicked water at him.
"I guess I'm lucky to enjoy everything down here, also I'm a bit more steady and would probabbly prefer to be on the ground,"Stripe through for a second what it's be like but the feeling on no ground below your legs and wing in her face didn't seem to be something she'd enjoy.
Stripe smiled and shook her head,"not too far away no. I was just stepping out for some fresh air, everyone had disappeared on me doing their own thing. I haven't seen you around these parts before are you from here?"

Startled by her suddenly popping out of the water, Moam tried dodging the water. I thought she was looking at fish! "I cant believe i fell for that one." Smiling at her he flung the water off of a wing at her. Her giggles are cute...
"Yep, flying can definitely be nerve-racking every now and then. Atleast the ground cant give you motion-sickness." Ah the good old times when he first started flying.
"Good, I was hoping you weren't lost or looking for trouble or anything. Unfortunately I'm not from here. I came from the deserts." He looked down a bit, slightly ashamed about his upbringing. "What do you normally do when your by yourself? Like besides splashing random strangers." Moam said, laughing.

"That's a good point, I don't think I've experienced that sort of sickness and I'm glad." She shrugged not having a clue what it was like and not really wanting to find out.
"You're a funny person", she laugh," What are you doing in the deserts if you like cold weather?" She watched his head bow momentarily,"are you okay?" She accidentally bristled up against him, instead of feeling a soft pelt she felt a hard, but smooth texture, maybe it was extra armour, but she had seen no armour when she was underwater, she smiled,"i bet that body armour is heavy," she said not noticing that in fact it was just him.
Stripe laughed and exclaimed,"I do nothing. Just looking out for fun, but it seems many don't like my playful nature. I don't normally splash strangers, you splashed me first!!!"
She nudged him,"so you can't say that I do normally splash strangers. How about you?"
