 layla was roaming the area by herself. she had always been alone with no family or friends. and yet she had somehow managed to not become cold and distant from it all. smiling to herself, she was enjoying the nice warm weather as she kept on her way. so far she had no come across anyone and was starting to get sad she had not been able to meet anyone yet.

Pembe had come along way from when he was cub. He now believed he wasn't pink, only his eyes were. Then again, he was still as gullible as possible. He still believed anything someone told them as long as it seemed like it was believable. Giving the other the benefit of the doubt. He hadn't seen his older sister in a while. Or his other siblings either. So he wasn't afraid of someone tricking him.
He had become much bigger then he had ever imagined himself. He was damn hot, if he would say so himself. He looked just like his mother, just different color. Which he quite enjoyed. She was a lovely lioness, and possibly the best he had ever met in his life. Then again, he really hadn't met many out there. He smiled and took in the day, as it was another great one. Though, he hadn't noticed that there was someone else near. He really hadn't been paying attention.

Layla was never one who payed attention to things around her. when she was distracted, oh was she ever. she was prone to getting herself lost when daydreaming or as she was right now looking up at the sky with a smile on her face. humming to herself, she didn't stop to think she might run into someone when not paying attention to her surroundings.

Pembe was looking at his paws while walking now. He is mind was wondering how his feet could move so smoothly. He never really got a hang of it. Though, when he thought of it, he tended to mess up his smooth moving talents. And with that, he ended up tripping himself as he knew he would, yet he still was thinking about how he moved. He fell to the ground with a loud thump. Laughter filled the air soon after.
Of course, it wasn't unusual to see himself fall and laugh. Which made it more amusing then it really was. Hell, if he couldn't laugh at himself, who could? He didn't know the answer to that. Other then, it sure wasn't his family. He hated when they laughed at him. He wanted them to see him as the best, not a clumsy lion. Even though, that was exactly what he was.

Layla's ears perked when she suddenly heard laughter, but didnt think to look down at the ground til it was too late. tripping over the large blue lion, she was now face down in the ground all dirty and had no damn clue how it happened. shaking her head, she looked over and finally noticed who she tripped over. "oh......." a goofy smile was on her face. "sorry i didn't notice you there. are you alright?" she didn't care if she made a fool of herself in front of him and was too innocent to realize that he had fallen just before she tripped on him.

"Are you okay!" he asked as he noticed that something happened to trip over him. At first he didn't notice because it happened so fast, he wasn't sure what hit him. Then, as he finally heard her say something. He saw the dark lioness. Man, was she a sight! "I didn't even feel you fall on me." he said honestly and gave a laugh. Of course, he wasn't going to openly admit that he fell before her, so he just sat there with a huge grin upon his face. "You didn't break anything did you?"

"nope i'm just fine!" giggling a bit, she was glad he was alright since she was the one to trip on him after all. " i'm glad i didn't end up hurting you." slowly getting up to her feet with her with her tail swishing about. it was obvious she was not hurt or harmed from tripping over him. it seemed nothing at all could bring down her good attitude. "I'm Layla. who are you?"

"Nah, I don't think you could hurt me if you tried." He laughed "Lots of fluff... It's like an anti-hurting system." He said with a laugh. Of course he was joking, but at least it might put a even bigger smile upon her face. "I'm Pembe... It means pink, but don't let that fool you... As you can see.. I'm not pink." He chuckled nervously.

"well thats good, i was scared that i had hurt you because of my careless ways." Layla blushed because she was embarrassed to admit she was not exactly the smartest or the most careful. " its nice to meet you Pembe, I'm Layla." grinning, she was happy to be making a friend so fast.

"Nah. Would take more then just a small fall over me to hurt me." He said with a carefree wink. "Plus, I believe I'd hurt myself before you'd be able to." He said with teasing her. Which was probably true. He'd end up hurting himself before anyone else could do it for him. That's just how much of a klutz he was. Which amused him to no end, so it was all good.
He didn't care if he fell here or there, he just didn't want to hurt anyone in the process. He felt that this small encounter was clearly his fault. Since he was upon the ground before she even touched him. Though, it was good to have someone drop in for a visit. He smirked. He liked that saying. "It's always nice to have someone drop in for a visit anyways!" He said with a laugh. Oh.. that was a good one. He'd have to remember that one for later.

"well i am glad that you came to no harm." Layla was no klutz but she somehow always managed to run into others or things. which was not always a good thing, but this time it seemed to be. " well dropping in seems to be my thing." laughing, she found her new found friend very amusing.

"Well, you're certainly good at it" He smiled at her. She was interesting. Far more then his own siblings. Which was a hard thing to happen. His siblings were.... different. Though, he hadn't seen them in a while. "I'm Pembe, by the way." He said finally realizing that he hadn't said his name yet. Apparently he was having too much fun to really notice that it hadn't been said. Of course, names weren't that important.

" apparently so." giggling, Layla blushed a bit but it was hard to see under her dark coat. "i'm glad i have met you Pembe. sad to say i don't have many friends to speak of." tail swishing about a little nervously, she wondered if he would think she odd for not really having friends. but it wasn't really her fault since it seemed she would wander off and forget her new found friends. she could only hope that she would not lose any friendship she had with her new friend.

Well, he did say his name, but forgot about it. He did that a lot. He forgot things he said, and tended to repeat himself. He smiled at her and yawned. "Well, You only really need a few good friends." He told her. "I'd rather have one good friend, then a ton of fake ones." He told her with a nod. He, as well, didn't have very many friends. He had a cheetah, and maybe a lioness... but he hadn't seen them since he was a cub. She he supposed they weren't friends anymore. He smiled at Layla. "Well, You're my friend too." He nodded. He was happy to call anyone a friend. As long as they were nice, and good enough to talk to.

"i rather have good friends than fake ones." giving a sage nod, she snickered at herself. she was never good at being serious and when she tried she would end up giggling or snickering. tail whipping about, she felt she was going to be great friends with pembe.
