 Seraphin's nerves were on edge, she had never been in this area before and could smell the scent of many wolves in the air. Being a gentle, soft spoken wolf Seraphin disliked confrontations so she could only hope the pack was a peaceful one and that she could get out of their territory quickly if it turned out to be the bad type of pack. Not normally an overly jumpy wolf, Seraphin couldn't help but get startled every now and then when she heard something off in the trees. Oh please let them be nice, she thought as her paws nervously carried her onward, stopping every so often to look and listen.
If she looked non-threatening then maybe they would just let her pass. And then what? Well she wasn't sure, pack life had never been a part of her life as her parents were the wandering type, so naturally she had taken on those same traits. But she disliked the uncertainly that wandering placed upon ones back, you never knew where you would sleep, where you would find your next meal and which areas were and weren't safe until you had come across them. That was how her father got killed, he wandered into the wrong packs territory while looking for a meal to feed to his family and he never came back. And that was why Seraphin was always nervous around strange packs, because you never know what you were walking into until it was too late.

 Glacier wasn't in much of a hurry to get back to the den's, he'd been sent off to take some rubbish outside the boarder where it wouldn't get in the way anymore and was taking his time on the way home. Lolly gagging wasn't something that was thought highly of in the pack and so when he caught a flash of moment in the trees he was pretty sure he as about to get into trouble and flattened himself to the ground for a few moments before realizing that no angry words or punishing blow was heading his way.
Normally he wouldn't be so jumpy either - but the arrival of the pups had caused a bit of stress and some short tempers in the pack, a joyous occasion to be sure..but also a stressful one, and he didn't get away with nearly the stuff he had be able to before hand.
When he did look up he glanced around for the movement, finally potting the unknown female through the trees. Well this was a bit of a quandary - on one hand she was a stranger on the other hand she was a female. "Ma'am?" He finally called out because either way he couldn't just let her wander around the pack lands.

Seraphin froze in mid step upon hearing the voice. Part of her was screaming to just run like hell and get out of here where the other slightly more logical part was telling her that the voice had no thread behind it. Even so she felt herself lower herself down into a slightly more submissive position, best to air on the side of caution after all. Now she turned her head towards the direction of the voice, which had been male, he was probably part of the pack. "I don't mean to trespass." She told him truthfully, as it was never Seraphin's desire to ever walk through a pack's territory if it could be helped.

Oh moons! what was she doing? Glacier thought to himself as she lowered herself submissively, licking his lips nervously he looked around to make sure no one from the pack was coming along - he could only imagine the trouble he'd get into if he as spotted lording it over a lady. Even a strange lady.
Casting his eyes to the ground and tucking his tail just in case he muttered at her "Please..don't do that my Lady...it's..its not proper here, the sisters will be upset if they see you submitting to a male" He told her. "You are on the lands of the Antianeira Pack ruled by Queen Penthesilea" He explained, still somewhat unsure about how to proceed with this now.

Seraphin was now horribly confused. Don't do that, the sisters will be upset if she submitted to a male? Just what kinda of pack had she stumbled across. While he didn't seem to threatening it took her a moment or two before she raised herself back up, not because she was worried he would turn against her but more because she was caught up in her sudden thoughts. When she finally spotted the male Seraphin noticed that he was just a teen and now felt even more foolish for acting the way she had. "My apologies. I am unfamiliar with the area." She was actually quite surprised when he took on a submissive pose before her.
But now she was curious about what he had said. "Why....why would my actions upset the sisters?" She somewhat hesitantly asked, as she had never before encountered such a thing.

Glacier was fairly sure that no one was lurking in the woods to punish him for being insubordinate - and he couldn't really be blamed in this case since the strange wolf didn't even know she was putting him in that position. But..just to be safe he kept his gaze averted, staring at her paws rather then her face. "Because I am a male and a slave - while you are a female, even a female outside the pack should be respected" He told her.
Glacier didn't really ind that this odd - he had been raised in the pack since puphood after all and while it was true he got away with a bit more then other slaves - he still knew his place, something that was becoming even more clear as he grew older.

Brow raised at his statement. He was a slave...because he was a male? This concept was completely new to her. Sure, she had heard of packs that kept slaves to do their bidding but never before had she encountered gender specific slaves. This both intrigued her and slightly worried her. She did not wish to get this male in trouble but there were so many questions she felt that she needed to ask. "You are a slave because you are male?" She asked and then instantly thought that might have seemed a little offensive. Best not to go back on it, only because it may get in trouble if others were around.
"I'm Seraphin." She said after a pause, realizing that she hadn't introduced herself yet because of her curiosity. "What's your name?" Her voice was soft and gentle, not because she though it would be more welcoming for it, but because she was always like that. "Tell me more of this pack."

Glacier risked raising his eyes long enough to meet her gaze and give her a slight smile "Yes, that is the way it is done here" He told her without any hint of hostility to the fact. Glacier clearly didn't take any offense to being a slave because he was male. That was just the way life was.
"Glacier" He introduced himself before hesitating slightly "I don't think it is my place to tell you more..but if you would like the Queen perhaps would be willing to answer your questions. She is a good Queen, fair and just. She took me in when I was abandoned and raised me as her own even though I am but a male" He told her - because to him that made Pen far kinder then most of the sisters. Thealia for instance would have left him to rot.

So he was a slave because of his gender. Well at least he didn't seem upset by such an idea, in fact he looked a bit proud when he stated that. "It is nice to meet you Glacier." She said in her soft voice, but held back a slight nod of her head as she felt that would not be appropriate given what he had already told her of the pack. The prospect of meeting the Queen and learning more of this pack was a bit exciting. Perhaps she could finally cast aside her wandering ways, that was if the pack was indeed a good fit for her and if they would allow her to stay. If not, well then Seraphin would be on her way once again.
"Yes, I should like to meet this Queen of yours." She said with an encouraging nod. "It was very nice of her to have taken you in like that." From a female superior pack or not, not all females would be willing to raise an abandoned pup. Seraphin would do it in a heartbeat because she had a huge soft spot for puppies.

"I shall show you the way then" Glacier told her with a slight bob of his head before turning about and heading off towards the dens. At least he now had an excuse for being late to return, and hopefully this female would turn out to be a good thing and Pen wouldn't be angry with him for bringing her into the lands - though truthfully she'd already been wandering around on it anyways.
One ear tipped back he listened to the sounds of the other following him and kept the pace to a decent but easy to maintain speed. He did not however go directly to the den's there were pups there..and he was sure female or not a stranger would certainly not be welcome. Pausing still in the woods a way he lifted his head an howled for a pleading cry asking Pen to come forth.

Nodding briefly Seraphin stood and began to follow Glacier through the woods. It was quite beautiful here, though the trees in some spots were quite dense compared to other places she had been in Telk. And as much as she wanted to ask him more questions about the pack Seraphin kept silent for it was apparent that those things need to be answered by a female - and the Queen no less. Coming to a stop as he did, she cast her eyes out looking for this Queen that he was calling for. With the mornings training exercises complete Penthesilea was free to return to her den and check on her pups. It worried her some days to leave them alone for so long, especially her smallest daughter Orithia. But she couldn't balk her duties just because she was a mother now. She was a Queen first and a mother second. She had nearly reached the den site when Glacier's call rang out. "Damn it now what is it." She snarled slightly and with a sigh began to trot in the direction the call had come from.
Paws carried her silently through the trees as she made her way to where Glacier was. Of course it didn't take her long to realize that there was another wolf with him, and not one of the sisters or a fellow slave either. Coming to a stop in front of the pair Penthesilea let her eyes roam over the female for a moment. She was a bit small, daintily built and really didn't look like the type that belonged her. Perhaps she was just lost. "Make it quick." She said as her eyes turned to Glacier, she needed to get to her pups soon.

Glacier lowered his head and tucked his tail as Penthesilea arrived - she didn't look overly angry with him, but he knew she disliked be away from her pups for very long. He supposed that was normal for any mother - and probably more so for a first time mother. "This is Seraphin my Queen...I found her wandering at the edge of the pack lands. She has questions about the pack and I did not think it my place to answer them" He told her.
It was the truth and Glacier had learned early on that the truth was always valued in this pack, surely she couldn't get mad at him for not answering question - it wasn't his place to decide what information was dangerous to give out and what was not.

The sight of Penthesilea was both awe inspiring and fear inducing. She was covered in all sorts of decorations including feathers, leather and from what she could see small bite of bone or perhaps stone. The Queen carried herself like a true Alpha and the way Glacier instantly fell into a submissive pose spoke a great deal about how much she was respected. "Your highness." She managed to force out the words as she lowered her head in respect. Though she fell silent after that, unsure of whether it was proper to speak to without being addressed first.
Penthesila glanced between the two once more an let out a small sigh. This had best not take too long, she really did need to check on Orithia and the others. "Very well," she told the mint colored female. "I can answer your questions." Though first she needed to dismiss Glacier. Turning her head she looked upon her adopted son, who had grown so much since she first found him hidden in the bushes. "Go to my den and check on your siblings. Make sure Orithia is alright. I will come and meet you there once I am finished, until then all of your other duties are on hold." With Glacier's instructions given the Queen turned her attention back to Seraphin. "What is it that you wish to know about my pack?"

Glacier tail wagged a few times as Pen gaver her orders - taking care of his siblings was actually one of his favorite things to do. Despite Assalea's tauntings he rather liked the little pups - granted they were still to young to cause to may problems and still mostly stuck to the den. "Don't worry, I will take good care of the princess" He promised his mother before trotting off towards the den site.

Seraphin waited until the young male had began to walk away before speaking to the Queen again. "Your son, he told me that this pack is like a sisterhood. And that you keep males as slaves. I am curious about this and wish to know more as he did not elaborate very much on the subject." Pausing for a moment Seraphin averted her eyes then glanced back at Penthesilea. "I wonder if it is a place that I could call home." She fought the odd need to flinch almost worried that the Queen would think her foolish for saying such a thing without knowing most of the details about the pack.
As the other spoke Penthesilea studied her with a neutral expression. She seemed a bit jumpy, spoke softly and didn't see to know exactly what to say. Brow quirked at Seraphin's last words. Her join Antianeira? She didn't look like she could fight to save her life even if she needed to. Lowering herself down onto her haunches Penthesilea stood tall, tail curling around her paws.
"Antianeira is a sisterhood. We were formed many years ago by a female who tired of being dominated by males. In her travels she found other like minded wolves to join her cause and soon enough the pack was born. But she was not stupid, the first Queen knew that in order for the pack to survive that males did need to be a part of the sisters lives, even if for only one night. So at first they only sought out males to breed, then as the pack grew some males were brought in to be slaves. To do the duties that were too menial for the sisters to bother with."
Penthesilea fell silent for a moment to let that all soak in before continuing. "The first Queen also knew the importance of being able to protect the pack, as a group of females could be an easy target. So we became warriors, dedicating our lives to becoming stronger, faster, braver and smarted than our enemies. That is a tradition that is the mainstay of the pack even to this day." Letting her eyes move over the female again she shook her head. "You are not a warrior I can tell you that. And likely never will be one even with a lifetime of training. So what could you contribute to a pack such as mine?"
