Outdoors, Entrance, and Ground Floor:

This is a massive, several story Victorian manor but the Gothic influences are clear, even from the distance. It seems that a chill surrounds the expansive land around it and a chill wind tends to blow. Thunder storms are very frequent. A mosaic stone walkway leads to the front door.
As soon as one enters the vestibule a warmth quickly envelops them. The subtle scent of burning wood can be detected here, and even if you've never been in such a place before a sense of safety and home is evoked.
Beyond the ornate, carved wooden doors of the vestibule lies the sitting room. It almost never seems to be completely empty, as it is public and people from all over come to discuss all manner of topics. All are known (to some level) by Matasoga. In addition to these attendants, this room contains several overstuffed chairs and couches of the same era, where said attendants find their seats. The lighting finds its source in the many fireplaces and torch-holders along the wall. Overall the lighting low and the room warm.
The walls are mostly dark wood with stone areas trimming and relieving many areas, enforcing the strange blend of Victorian warmth and Gothic grandiosity. Affixed to many of the stone areas are wrought-iron candle holders, which hold three candles each, the outer two angled outward and the other one standing straight. A stone trough beneath the candle holder collects the wax and the taper-style candles seem always to be nearly full-length and lit. The ceiling is high enough that the light of the candles and fireplaces fails to illuminate the heights of the vaulting.
The chairs are mostly arranged in a loose circle. Numerous tables sit close to the chairs and couches and atop most of the tables are hooded lanterns that are closed but can open to allow more light, as needed. Many smaller wooden chairs, upholstered with red velvet are on the opposite sides of the tables, easily allowing for smaller conversations to take place easily and quietly.

At the far, north wall there is a door that leads to a grand staircase that leads into the upper levels and one that leads to the levels below. Spacious elevators are also in this area.
At the other end, past the staircases are a men's bathrooms and the other a women's both kept immaculately clean. They feature black marble floors and brighter illumination than both rooms. Towards the back of the room are showers, larger than most public shower stalls. The shower heads are shaped like gargoyles. the mouths open, much like the downspouts of the gargoyles outside.

Along the west wall is a door that leads to a long hallway with red carpet and dark wooden walls opens on each side to a different gallery lined with paintings, drawings, and other framed works of art. This is Matasoga's Private Art Gallery, accepting of all submissions from all members of his guild, from all skill levels.
It contains everything from amateurish sketches to professional-level masterpieces. The lighting is low, overall, but a small, special, UV light (so as to preserve the richness of the colors) is built directly underneath each frame for best visibility. The first floor of the art gallery is as large as both the kitchen and pantry. A second story shares space and can be found at the end of the gallery, up it's own staircase.

Along the east wall is a door like all of the others that leads to the kitchen. The kitchen is easily large enough to serve the most discerning gourmet. Countless pots, cookware, and other kitchen accessories allow for the cooking of almost any dish that one can imagine.
The pantry is always stocked, but with especially large amounts of the foods of which his Apostles are most fond. Accessible only from this room is Matasoga's wine cellar. The most prolific wine available is mead. The amount of this wine is truly staggering but cider is second is supply. Next is the sweet wine made of blackberries. Also here in excess are bottles of sweet red wine, followed by sweet white wine. Nearly any other alcoholic beverage imaginable can be found here, as well, in somewhat smaller amounts.

Downstairs:

One direction leads to a room known as the Room of Recollection. This is comfortably lit room in which there are a good number of art desks with slight elevation, with each holding a scrapbook, with one seemingly dedicated to a year of the guild's operation. A shoebox on a table in the center of the room holds paste, glue, several pairs of scissors, stationary, and other scrap-booking supplies, as well as a few photos. More photos can be found on the corkboard on the wall opposite the door.
Here the fun times had in the various events are remembered and preserved. Here new arrivals can explore and learn what the guild is like and old members can come and remember. There is little else in the room, save a closet in this room holds many boxes of holiday decorations. After all, with the size of the number of rooms that exist, many decorations are needed to decorate all of it.

At the end of the hall is another door. It leads to the Archives. There is the sound of something dripping in a distant corner and the faintest sound of scratching probably coming from a vent. Only the faintest hint of mildew is detectable, with old, yellowing paper being significantly stronger. In the room, which is faintly illuminated in a pale, yellow light coming from a bare bulb in the center of the ceiling as candles and torches would create too much of a fire hazard. Dominating this room are many shelves filled with folders and a few cardboard boxes, all with a coat of dust on their surfaces. Inside are transcripts of many of the conversations that have occurred there, as well as records of various other guild matters.

A side door leads to a closet-like room containing shelves with other documents that are more pertinent, important, and likely to be needed.

In the main room of the Archives, however, is a secret area, only recently discovered. Hidden beneath a box is a section of what appears to be bare, normal floor. Stepping on it will reveal, however, that it is hollow. The false area of floor is carved with but a hairline gap. A knife is needed to pry it open. Once it has opened, there is another door of steel, or something that looks remarkably similar. This is fastened with a very sturdy padlock. What lies beyond it is known to very few...

Second Floor:

This floor is mostly a walkway along the walls that look down into the main discussion and sitting room. Situated above the kitchen, the pantry, and the art gallery are the Writing, Philosophy, and Role-playing rooms.

Above the kitchen is the roleplaying room. It is cozier than the other rooms, but hardly what anyone might call cramped. A small trapdoor in the corner opens up to lead to the kitchen, an addition eventually made due to popular demand.
It contains a set of several large, oak tables large enough to seat many. Around each table are many dark wooden chairs with red velvet cushions built into them. Book shelves line the walls, all of them filled with countless rule books (many dog-eared and well-loved) of various RPs. The only floorspace along the walls that don't house a bookcase house tables covered in colored dice pouches, character miniatures, folded grids, or stacks of notebooks, character sheets sticking partially out.

Above the pantry is the Writing Room. It is a little smaller than the Role-Playing Room.
This room is a bit more well-lit than most of the others. It contains several dusty type-writers but mostly for ambiance on relatively long tables. There are also outlets and ports that make it convenient to type on a laptop, provided by room's users.
A fairly narrow bookshelf against the wall contains both a few books on writing in general, a few books on finding a publisher, a few reference books, and some of the books considered to be the exemplars of each genre of the bottom shelf. The other shelf contains notebooks filled by the members, containing their stories, poems, and other written works.
There is a dry-erase board intended for brain-storming and long tables, with piles of notebooks on either end, with similar cushioned chairs much like the one found elsewhere in the building. Coasters on the table and food-wrappers in the trash can make it clear that food and drink are readily allowed in the room.

Above the Art Gallery is the Philosophy room. In fact, it shares space with the second floor of the art gallery. It provides a potentially much-needed rest area once one has finished touring it, though it was made for discussing philosophy, religion and other such matters.
This room is more simple and unadorned than most with the typical dark wooden walls. The floors are bare but a large, simple, darkly-colored rug rests on the floor beneath the sole table in the center of the room. Lighting is primarily built into the ceiling and notably more modern than in most of the other rooms. The simplistic design was likely intended to serve the utilitarian purpose for which they were intended and not distract at all from the conversations.
Overstuffed chairs and couches surround it. In the corner is a bookshelf containing a handful of philosophical books, mostly for reference purposes. A fireplace with a bare, brick mantle provides warmth in the winter and a small amount of additional light.

Third Floor:

Unlike the second floor, the space over the main discussion area is not open. It's ceiling is the third story's floor, so there is much more room. For this reason, however, it is more difficulty in describing the placement of most of the rooms.
The stairway connects to a long hallway. There are three doors, two of which are locked.
The first door unlocked and contains is what is almost ironically referred to as the Barracks. It is not intended for a permanent residence, but it contains scattered fainting couches of a high quality and a blanket atop each.
Here the lower-echelon members who spend much of their time here can get a quick nap. The next door contains the Apostles Quarters. Each Apostle has their own room. This area dominates over half of the whole floor but comfortably sleeps all twelve in their own separate room, including bathrooms. The amount of space each one is allotted is in direct proportions to their contributions to the guild's success.

The rest is Matasoga's private quarters. No one has seen the inside aside from Matasoga, at least no one that has seen fit to share the information. It is believed (knowing his tastes) to contain his hoard of wealth and obscenely luxurious accommodations.

He lead her closer and closer to the guild house, drawing ever nearer, but made a brief phone call as he walked, sounding as though he was making some final preparations before he arrived.
He lead her up the sidewalk and the doors opened before him as he got there. He was also presented with a parcel, which he gave to Pheonix.
"Here is your uniform," he said as he handed it to her. She would find that the parcel contained a dark coat, a darkly colored cape and a hat, all much like his own. "You're welcome to open it now, unless you'd rather see your quarters and take the tour, first."

Phoenix felt weird with a leash and collar on her neck, as thy walked up to the house she looked up at it, it was pretty big...although she had seen bigger in her life time. When he handed her the "Uniform" she took it. "Um could i ...um..have the tour first?" she asked looking up at him then looking back down, a bit embaressed.

"Certainly," he said, removing her collar, but allowing the usual collar that he purchased it with to remain.
He took her first through the main room, making brief introductions to the people who happened to be there at the moment, before continuing on through to the kitchen and the pantry.
"Do you cook?" he asked her.

Phoenix listened to the tour of the main room and the peoplle inside it.
"Yes..."Phoenix said "I think i can cook...but i'm not sure" once she said this she found it a very odd thing to say, then she thought it over "Yes i can cook" she said a bit more confidently.

He smiled, both because he reminded him a bit of Torzeh again, and because the answer pleased him. "Good," he said, and lead her into the pantry. "You're sure to learn all of the Apostles favorite dishes, in time."
He lead her into the pantry and gave her a briefing on where everything was, before leading her down to the wine cellar and doing the same. He took her back up through the kitchen and pointed out the bathrooms.
Your duty on this level will be limited mostly to cooking, and a few menial chores...You know, cleaning the wax traps beneath the candles, stoking the fires occasionally, and that sort of things. Certain preparations have been made to keep the rest of the place clean, running, and maintained but just keep an eye on things to make certain that they continue running smoothly... Understand?"

Phoenix nods her head, in understanding. then she looks up at him "If i may ask...u...how many people live here?...I mean ...i just was wondering how many people i'll be picking up for"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 01, 2010 11:39 pm

"Only twelve people and myself have permanent lodgings, here," he said. Over two hundred have memberships, but you're only likely to regularly see thirty or so that come by regularly. Do you have any other questions?" he asked.
In his tone, there was no irritation; only sincerity. Now that he was home, his personality might be found to be warmer and less aloof.

Phoenix shook her head, she didnt think she had any other questions. A shiver went down her back, she rolled her shoulders back and it stoped, in her head she hopped that he didnt notice the shiver.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 01, 2010 11:48 pm

He had noticed the shiver and he stopped. "Are you feeling cold, dear? You're welcome to put you coat on, if you like, or we could warm ourselves by the fire," he suggested.
