Shopping time again, and Bovi had been sent out, and of course since Bovi was going, Cassidy demanded that she came along in her own no words sort of way. And by that we mean she plopped herself on Bovi's head and refused to get off.
So there they were, in the produce section. Cassidy tried to help by holding the bag of apples, but it was too heavy so they were now in the basket with the rest of it. Instead she just clung to her umbrella, as she refused to go anywhere or do anything without it, watching as her father of sorts did what he needed to do.

Zuba, as usual, was trying to find her little shadow who'd run off. Which was rather hard, considering she had a cart of food and a wriggly, hype, newly-grown child to keep track of. So far, this grocery run had been a disaster. She was already buying four boxes of cereal that Nini had opened, looking for a prize. Needless to say, the young mother was at rope's end. She was moving quickly, frantically trying to find her troublesome little shadow before she caused a ruckus.
Nini had been ghosting about the store, exploring this new territory. She was making her way by the green food stuffs when a glint caught her eye. Her little eyes widened: shiny! She found a shiny! Without a second thought, the little shadow ran over, attemping to take and claim her new shiny. Finders keepers, right?

"Ack!" Bovi exclaimed. Something was tugging at the gem that grew from his horns. He knew it wasn't Cassidy. She wasn't fond of shiny things due to she thought they were covered in water, and while she knew his gem wasn't, she still refused to touch it.
Cassidy could see what it was, another shadow like herself trying to take her spot of Bovi's head! She would not allow this to happen! She opened up her umbrella and shoved it at Nini, attempting to shove her off.

Nini let out a little shriek as something big and bright and colorful came shoving down at her. Why was she under attack? She just wanted shiny! The little shadow grabbed a handful of hair to keep from falling, flailing her free hand at her colorful assailant.
Azubahiel went running as she heard the shriek, cursing under her breath as she shoved her cart ahead of her. Her golden eyes flared wide as she saw her little shadow attacking someone. "Nini! Get down this minute! Oh my goodness, I'm sososo sorry!" She apologized quickly as she rushed over, trying to pull Nini away.

"Owowowitsokay," Bovi strung together. Getting his hair pulled was one of his least favorite things seeing as he worked so hard to keep it well groomed (and he also wasn't pleased that Cassidy had chosen her favorite roost to be his head) but he's not one to get angry, at least for long.
As to allivate some of the pulling and commotion, he plucked Cassidy off his head. Cassidy was not pleased with this as she thought she was being replaced, and was attempting to get back up to where the ursurper was so she could thrust her umbrella-shield...thing, at the shadow again.

"Are you alright?" Azubahiel asked, worried about the young lad. She held her little Nini in her arms, taking a step back from the other spawn. "I am so sorry; she ran off and I couldn't find her and I really hope you aren't hurt. Nini, apologize this instant! You know better." The split spawn held the shadow out, waiting for her to apologize.
Nini didn't understand what was going on. She just wanted the shiny! Was that so wrong? Now Mama was mad and...and... "Ni...." the little black jello fellow whimpered, sniffling. "Ninini ni nini....." She trailed off as she began wailing. Oh fun.

"I'm fine I'm fine," he assured 'Zuba with a light laugh, although he was feeling a headache coming on due to the hair pulling, but that always seemed to happen, and he was used to this.
Cassidy tilted her head at Nini now that she was no longer on her roost. Another shadow! She wriggled her way out of Bovi's grip and scurried up to his head once more, but she didn't stay there long. She merely used it as a platform to leap off of and landed on 'Zuba's arms.
"Bawp?" she questioned before poking the now wailing Nini gently. Now was not the time for crying!

'Zuba offered a small, relieved smile in return. She was so glad he wasn't hurt too badly. "She didn't steal anything of yours, did she?" Hurray for a new worry; did her little thief take anything valuable? She hoped not; wrestling things away from the shadow was harder than trying to pull a tooth from a shark without getting hurt. The spawn let out a squeak as she moved to catch the other shadow. "So, you have one too?" she said, smiling slightly.
Nini cut off midwail as she was poked. Teary gold eyes looked at the other shadow. "Ni ni...." she said, warily looking at the girl and her umbrella. Was she going to get attacked again by the scary colorfuls? She hoped not!

Bovi took the time to pat himself down. The gem on his horn was still there, and nothing else seemed to be gone.
"I don't think so..." he commented before laughing a bit. "Yeah, found her a few days ago."
"Bwapda," Cassidy said in a matter of fact sort of tone. "Bapbawp bawpdaw."

'Zuba smiled, holding both of the shadows with relative ease. A curious glint came to her eyes and she tilted her head. "Found? You mean you didn't summon her?" she asked, confused. She thought these cute little headaches could only be summoned. Then again, she still didn't know much about the little black jellowy things.
"Ni. Ninini. Ni! Ninini!" the little black shadow with pigtails said, wagging a finger at the umbrella-wielder as she apparently chastised the girl. Didn't she know that attacking people with umbrellas was rude!? She then pointed to herself. "Nini." she said, introducing herself before pointing to the other pitch-black toddler. "Ni?"

Bovi tilted his head. Summoned?
"Well, if they need to be summoned I am not the one that summoned her. I found her being harassed by some teenage boys in the park and once I scared them off she's sorta been stuck to me like glue..." he explained. "Did you summon your shadow?" he asked, now curious.
Cassidy looked down a moment...She really couldn't say her own name unlike Nini. "Bawbwap baw..." she explained, her eyes slowly starting to water. It wasn't fair that the other shadow could say her name, and it made Cassidy rather sad on the inside.

'Zuba nodded. "Yes. It was purely accidental, though. I was trying to manipulate shadows in a magic class, and..." The girl trailed off, a bemused smile forming as she motioned to the result of her attempts. "And they do tend to cling to you like, well, a shadow." The split spawn let out a soft chuckled, remembering when she first summoned Nini.
Nini reached over, patting the other shadow like she'd seen Mama Zu do before. "Ni. Nininini. Ni ni." the little blob crooned, trying to comfort the other. She wasn't sure what was wrong, but.... "Ni. Ninini." the little pig-tailed shadow assured, trying to let the other know that everything would be alright.

Bovi laughed lightly. "Sounds like that was a surprise. Any hints on how to handle them? I'm still sort of new with the whole situation myself..."
He thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up again. "Oh look at me, I haven't even introduced myself yet! I'm Bovidae, but everyone calls me Bovi. It's a pleasure to meet you~"
Cassidy mumbled a bit before haphazardly leaning on Nini with a heavy sigh. She wasn't sure if she was sad or bored now, but either way it was not pleasant, being a shadow and all.
