What o n l y some k n o wWhat o n l y few a r e Vampires, as you may have guessed by now, are real. The fact that they’re a secret doesn’t make them any less tangible or their existence any less fantastical.
The existence of vampires is generally unknown to the public. There are strange killings, regular ones at that, but most of the time such phenomenon is covered up by those in the know, or by the vampires themselves. Before the most recent events are explained, it’s important you know what’s reality, and what’s an old wifes’ tale. o1. Vampires are the undead. You cannot be born a vampire. In order to become a vampire, someone who is already a vampire must either find a human at the brink of death, or bring a human to the brink of death. At this point the vampire must drain the dying human almost completly of blood then give the human their own vampire blood. About a pint of blood is needed to be given up. After this the human must be buried underground for at least one night in order for the transformation to be complete. The new vampire will dig itself out and continue post-mortem, as a vampire.
o2. Survival patterns. Contrary to classic vampire lore, the vampire race won't shrivel up, turn to dust, or explode in sunlight. Vampires can withstand the sun, but not without sunglasses. Because Vampires do have to sleep, and usually not in coffins, they tend to sleep in the day and come out at night for practicality's sake. They were built to function at night, so they might as well nurture it. Vampire Eyes. The eyes of a vampire are a thing of wonder. They are by far the most sensitive eyes the world has to offer. Though vampire eyes can see clearly in the day light, they are primarily designed for darkness, which is why over exposure to the sun and artificial brightness can hurt a vampire's eyes and temporarily impair them. Though that is one weakness, there are plenty of advantages to having a vampire's eyes. Vampire's can see things acres away clearly. They also have an iris designed to zoom in and out on subjects, sort of like a camera lens. The pupil is really a master piece in the sense that it allows the vampire to see in the dark, much like a dog or a cat, but also after making an almost subconscious switch, see in infrared. This allows the vampire to see the heat generated by its prey even if the human is hiding in complete darkness, under piles of clothes, or behind a door. Though a vampire's eyes may be its greatest asset, it can also be its greatest weakness...for reasons other than being sensitive to sunlight. When in the dark, in order to see in the blackness, the vampires eyes with get a glossy sheen over them, just like a dog or a cat's eyes would. Instead of having a yellow sheen, however, the vampire's eyes glow red. That's one way of figuring out who's human, and who's not. Fangs. To better camouflage, a vampire's fangs are not always present. They can pop out when needed and are about 3/4 of an inch long...though fang size can differ. Fangs will appear involuntarily when a vampire is thirsty, angry, in the presence of blood or aroused. And once a newborn vampire, or a "baby" vampire is created, their fangs are out until they drink blood, and have their fill.
o3. Baby Vampires. Or the general term for a newborn vampire, experience a few changes. Skin.Because vampires are dead, they were cold to the touch. They aren't like ice cubes, but they don't have that warmth generated by living creatures. So immediately the body chills. Sensation.Vampires can feel and touch just like a human being, but they are not a slave to temperature by any means. It can be 100 degrees out, or it can be -l00 degrees out, it doesn't matter, a vampire will never be cold or hot. Thirst.Baby vampires are much more thirsty than their older counterparts. They crave blood and use it up more quickly making them have to feed much more often. On average, and "adult" vampire, or a vampire that's been a vampire for about two years, needs two humans a week. A baby vampire will need one human every day. When a vampire is thirsty, they will feel not only weak but have very dry, very sore throat, and a terrible ache in their bones. A vampire is not a slave to their thirst, but blood can and will force them to do things they normally wouldn't do if used as a means of persuasion in any circumstance. The baby bonus. Baby vampires are in theory stronger and faster than the adult vampires, but they tend to be awkward and unsure in their bodies as well as ignorant to their weaknesses...so they really aren't a problem in the eyes of mature vampires.
o4. The inside of a Vampire. There are many interesting aspects of a vampire's body. Health. Vampires don't get sick. They get weak, but not sick. Vampires have blood that runs through their veins that is fueled by the blood they drink. Though the undead do have a heart, it does not beat and therefore vampires have no pulse. If cut or beaten a vampire will heal almost instantly. A vampire cannot regenerate, but it can reattach. Blood. And by blood I mean vampire blood. The blood of the undead, if drunken or injected into the body of a human not at the brink of death, can heal and strengthen that human. Vampire blood should be taken in small doses because overdosing on it is very possible. Moreover vampire blood is very hard to come by though it is sometimes administered. Age.A vampire freezes in time. The age a human dies at is the age they will remain post mortem. Furthermore a vampire cannot die of natural causes so if it is not killed it will live forever. Human Food. Vampires drink human blood...animal blood just doesn't cut it, and vampires that drink animal blood crack, then go on killing sprees. Human foods, like cake, cookies, carrots, meat, etc., are edible to some extent. A vampire can eat them, and might like the taste..sometimes, but they will have to cough up what they ate hich isn't fun and is pretty much just gross.
o5. Appearance. For the most part vampires look human. They aren't super pale and certainly don't sparkle. Vampires do have a certain attractive quality about them, however. Becoming a vampire amplifies whatever qualities a human had while still alive. If a human had a great body, they have an amazing body as a vampire. If a human was good looking, they become a stunning vampire. When thirsty. it's easy to tell when a Vampire is thirsty. Their fangs may be out, and they probably look like the haven't' slept in a long time. They become pale and look sickly. A vampires eyes don't change color depending on thirst, but vampires do get black circles under their eyes when the are in need of blood. Mirrors. It's true that a vampire cannot see itself in a mirror. Vampires are the undead and so their lack of reflection represent such. Vampires cannot be captured on camera and cannot be seen on a video camera. Oddly enough they do have a reflection in people's eyes. They also have a reflection anywhere, if and only if they are overfed. Overfed meaning they devoured over ten humans in the span of one hour. All the blood makes them seem alive and so they have a reflection for about a day or two.
o6. Abilities. 1. Super strength-->As in, look at me lift this two ton elephant. 2. Super speed--> I just beat that car in a race. 3. Super sight--> stated in "o1" 4. Super hearing--> A vampire can hear even better than a dog. 5. Super scent--> Just as a shark can smell a single drop of blood in an Olympic size swimming pool, a vampire can smell a drop of blood in a 500 foot radius. 6. Super jump--> It's what it sounds like, vampires can jump very high and very far and almost always land on their feet.

o1.Vampire hunters are human. That is the golden rule of being a hunter, you have to be human. If for some reason or another a vampire wants to be a vampire hunter...which is weird in itself, it won't happen. The human vampire hunter will probably kill the vampire in question then high five or something. If the vampire that wants to join has a lot of useful information, the hunter society will get the information, then kill the vampire. It's sort of "racist" but that's how it works. o2. You must be born a hunter. You cannot just join the vampire hunting community, you must be born into it. Vampire hunters are trained from birth to do what they do and from a very young age they are infected with a deep hatred for vampires.
o3. Population There aren't many hunters out there. There's defiantly not enough to exterminate the vampire population but they are spread out and can prevent massacres and what not.
o4. Hunters are good at what they do. They don't have super strength, or speed, nothing flashy like that, bu they know the ins and outs of vampires and can hold their own. Technology really helps out these hunters. Ways to kill vampires. 1. Blind them--> Bright light directly in a vampire's eyes will momentarily blind them and this blindness, if caused by the weapons used by the hunters that generate a huge amount of pure light, can last up to 20 minutes. The vampire will be weakened where it can then be killed. 2. Being stabbed does not work! Vampires have no beating heart so stabbing them in the heart won't do anything. 3. Being stabbed in the brain, works. Vampires need their brains so head injury usually does the stick. 3. Beheading, it works like a charm. 4. Certain poisons, can kill a vampire. Poisons made specifically for vampires are crafted constantly. Most of them enter the body of the vampire from a knife laced with the poison. Once inside the poisons will usually target the brain. 5. The thirstier the vampire the more vulnerable it is. That's just a fact of life.
o5. Vampire Prevention Because vampire hunters are most at risk, they have crafted ways to prevent the spread of baby vampires. The staking legend comes from reality. When a body is being buried and it is suspected the death was the work of a vampire, a wooden stake will be stabbed through the heart of the body so that the underground transformation cannot be completed, and so there is no vampire. Partnering. To prevent hunters from being turned in vampires they will hunt the undead in teams no smaller than two. This ensures that one will at least prevent the other from being transformed by either bringing the body back from the kill sight, or destroying it. Hunter burial. Hunters bury each other through specific methods. Almost always the body is cremated. This prevents vampire transformation. Each body is also inspected for any new vampire traces...as in if anything they haven't seen before pops up, research it.
o6.Weapons and Skills. Combat. Vampire hunters have their own style of combat that is unique to them and is designed for taking on vampires. It is more defense based than attack based and hunter in a nutshell, are masters of dodging at almost inhuman speeds. They can attack, but they focus more on defense when it comes to hand to hand. The suit. While on the job hunters have special suits crafted for fighting vampires that are updated constantly. The current model is black and though the outside is either a leather or a thick course fabric material, the inside is chain link and would look much like what a chain mail shark suit looks like. Hunters won't usually wear helmets, but they have infrared glasses that they wear in order to see who has and who doesn't have heat radiating off of them. The assortment of knives. Daggers, and blades that are usually coated poisons. Sickle A short scythe like knife used for beheading. Guns The bullets are ether regular bullets, or bullets that release poisons into the vampire bloodstream that will probably kill unless another vampire can suck out the poison very very quickly. Lighters, and lighter fluid. Just in case a friend needs to be set on fire in order to prevent them from any possible transformation. Throwing knives...for throwing. There are also throwing sickles, and even ninja esq throwing stars.

Vampires and hunters have never gotten along, but there was never any serious conflicts between them. Some would kill and some would get killed, that was just how things worked. Certain vampires were not to be messed with, just as certain hunters generated a name for themselves among the vampire community.
Two of the most feared vampires in the world are the ancient and in love, Ambrosios and Lavinia. Both of them over three thousand years old, are some of the strongest vampires ever known to exist. They are respected but more so they are feared. Even more troublesome is the fact that the two are accustomed to the ancient vampire tradition of massacring towns. They seemed to have lost all respect for humanity and ran rampant...until one young hunter stepped up.
He was quickly becoming one of the hunter society's most revered members. The young hunter simply had a knack for killing off vampires. He was sharp, he was quick and he held a ferocity that rivaled the fiercest of vampires, he was going to be the best vampire hunter that ever lived.
What he couldn't understand however, was why Ambrosios and Lavinia were allowed to do what they did and live their lives untouched. The two ancient vampires had recently infiltrated the urbanized eastern side of the U.S so it was a perfect opportunity to take the two down. The promising hunter tracked the two down to Manhattan where they had already gorged themselves on the population of a small apartment complex. The mission was considered suicide, but he proved them wrong. Like out of some fairy tale, the young hunter slayed the vicious Ambrosios...but through a twist of fate, the mourning Lavinia escaped with her life.
A few months went by and the young hunter was a hero. No one expected such a fete could be accomplished but the had proved everyone wrong.
Lavinia, mourning and lusting after revenge, was waiting in the shadows for her opportunity. She couldn't just attack the hunter like she wanted to, he was dangerous, and powerful enough to kill her beloved mate. Killing him wasn't enough. Killing him would be letting him win. She wanted him to suffer as she suffered. And so, Lavinia, devised a plan.
The young hunter was with his partner when tragedy overtook him. It had been a simple hunt that ended in the worst turn of events imaginable. Lavinia was back with a vengeance like never before. She had brought with her an assortment of starving newborns that distracted the two hunters while she could move in. The young hunter's partner was killed by the newborns who had been disposed of shortly after. He had managed to burn the corpse of his fallen comrade, just in time for Lavinia to show herself.
Killing him wouldn't have achieved anything. Lavinia was after a greater vengeance. She got the already exhausted hunter to his knees, and drained him almost completely of his blood. Now that he was unconscious she spilled her own ancient blood into his mouth. She took his motionless body into the woody depths of central park, and buried it.
Lavina had gotten her revenge. The young and promising vampire hunter, would become a vampire himself.

Waking up the very creature you spent murdering and despising...isn't exactly easy, and out hunter gone vampire friend isn't taking it well.
He's having a crisis and it's very obvious. Most adult vampires let the babies figure things out for themselves, but he looked so lost and so freaked out...not to mention thirsty, she just had to help.
She's been a vampire for quite a while now so she knows the lifestyle very well. Out of pity, or compassion for her fellow vampire, she decides to help the pitiful baby vamp out. She hoped to take him in and get him off of his feet. What she doesn't expect however, is his self destruction, his dangerous and unexpected power, or the fact that he knows more about how her body works...than she does.
Secrets will be unlocked between the two and Lavinia is bound to stop by eventually. Love could spark, but everything's a little more complicated post-mortem.

► - - - the r e a l i t y ► personality- - - I'd have to say, I'm really competitive. I always have to win or be the best, or both. Usually I'm being a leader, and more often than not I'm the one reassuring people. One of my biggest aspects is that I'm really brave. I don't care what's going on or how scary something is, I'll deal with it if that's what has to happen. I'm cautious in the sense that I'm not stupid, but I'm not afraid to take something on head on. Something that's been with me since childhood is my disdain for vamps. They're dead...so they should stay dead. They shouldn't be ******** around with the living it's just not right.
► biography- - - As far as I can remember, I always known about vampires. That's probably just how it works when you're born into the hunter's society. We all knew each other, and when I was really young, we all lived next door to one another. Everyone in my family was a hunter. My dad, my mom, even my older brother. My dad was the frickken best though. I mean, that's how I remember him at least...but hey, maybe I'm biased. They'd call him up, along with a few other guys if there was ever a problem. They fixed it pretty fast too. I started my vampire training when I was 2 years old. I didn't really get much done, but that was when I learned that is was okay to kill vamps...because they were already dead anyway. As I got older I figured out that vampires weren't just the undead, but monsters. We trained six days a week with one day of rest, that was the standard....but I was really committed. Sometimes I trained seven days, sometimes I worked over time. I was a competitive kid, and I became a competitive adult. I always had to be the best, and if I wasn't I made sure that became the best. The fact that I was growing quickly helped out too. When I was fourteen my grandfather died so my grandma came and lived with us. When I was fifteen my brother lost his legs during a hunt and stayed inside the house all day...he was never the same again, with good reason I thought. A year later, the vampires found out about our community and attacked. My grandma and I hid my brother in the house while my parents braced themselves for the onslaught. They were killed. I didn't see them die...but I saw their bodies when I peeked out from out hiding spot. What happened next, I think was fate. It changed my life, however cruel it was. Two vampires had seen us with their damn efficient eyes. I was trained, but not completely. My grandmother was frail and weak, and my brother was a sitting duck. I attacked. There were weapons lying around so charged and maybe it was the adrenaline, but I got one to their knees. the other one panicked and to my horror, killed my brother in order to distract me. He was ripped to sheds. I'd never been more pissed off in my life. I killed the weaker one in my fury but the one that killed my brother was smart. He got the poison out of my hands and in a scuffle he bottle crashed onto the floor and as a result, splashed into my grandmother's eyes. She was blinded instantly. I think it was the trauma that allowed me to somehow get my knife through the vampire's skull. And I think it was the trauma that made me really want to be the best.
I got over it. Being a hunter meant the possibility of loosing family everyday and because of that we had all been trained to deal and cope with hardship just like this. I mourned for weeks, but not for months. The attack forced the community to slit up. We lived in different areas now so that if there was another attack, not everyone could be affected. I worked really hard and took care of my aging grandmother. We were all we had, so it was important that we stick together.
As the years went by my kill count boomed. I was one of the best now, where I wanted to be. I studied everything. I took back vampires live sometimes and along with my fellows hunters, figured them out. We dissected vamps, tested things on vamps, everything. It allowed me to really know my enemy. I had my friends and I had my job. Everything was fine.
Recent events, ******** everything up. Killing that ancient vampire saved a lot of people, and really made my life great, but his stupid Lavinia...his stupid, well if she can take revenged, so can I..though, I think at this point, I'd rather die.

► - - - the r e a l i t y ► personality- - - Despite how people think a vampire should act, I’m really happy and content with my life. I enjoy life, I’m a really happy go lucky person, I don’t even get mad all that easy. I’m extremely excitable, even though… I guess I can be serious if the occasion calls for it… I’m also really caring, that carried on from when I was human.
► biography- - - Wow, where to start? Well I was born at the dawning of a new century, the 1900s to be exact. I was born in Georgia, and the day I was born the governor was signing an act that made it so you had to take a literacy test to vote, successfully excluding the African American population. But, that’s not important right now. What is important is that I grew up a very caring girl and was married to a man at the age of 20, which was extraordinarily old during the time period. But my father didn’t want to see his youngest daughter go, complaining that there would be no one to take care of him in his old age, as he had no sons. Luckily, I met a nice man who decided it was ok that I was 20 and was still eligible to be married, thank heavens. Unfortunately, we were only together a year and war struck. World War 2, and he decided he was going to be a soldier. Well, I was pregnant with a little girl and his leaving certainly didn’t do anything to help. So I went to live with my mother and father again, helping out as I waited out my pregnancy. I had a beautiful little girl whom I named Rosemary, and for another year life was good. Then, my husband came home. But he was changed, he was violent and took to hitting me often, thankfully he never hit our little girl… One night we were walking home from.. I don’t know, some sort of reception thing for soldiers, and he was drunk as usual. I don’t remember what I did to enrage him, but he began hitting me again when a stranger came out and told him to quit. Then, as my husband turned to fight him, the strange man… I know now that he was a vampire, but then.. all I knew was he wasn’t normal… I ran, ran home to my little girl and held her tight. Not knowing I had led the vampire straight to my home. I cried as he killed my daughter and then, his gaze fell upon me. I had never seen anything like him, his white shirt was stained with the blood of my daughter and husband and I knew I was next.
I didn’t die that night though. I woke up covered in dirt and I thought I had been buried alive, I struggled to the surface clawing a scraping my way out, and there was the man who had killed my family, come to finish me off. Or so I thought, instead he did something that I latter found out was odd. He took me in and taught me what I was. I think he was lonely and saw the opportunity for companionship, so he took it. Of course I resented him, hated him for killing my little Rosemary. He insisted that I would have killed her myself with how I was now, and I soon learned that he was right. Despite my dislike for it, I craved human blood, I never even considered animal, even though I was warned about it. A few decades past and I still couldn’t bring myself to love him the way he wanted me too, so I ran away. Leaving my Sire in the middle of the day, and I just ran as far as I could. He never followed me, and I realize how selfish I must have seemed, how selfish I considered myself to be as I learned more of vampire customs. I was lucky to have had his guidance and I never even thanked him. So, I searched him out, explaining myself and he proved to be the greater person and forgave me. We are still friends.
Many years passed.
I came across a young man one night, clawing his way out of the dirt as I had done. He was the first newborn I had encountered, and something told me not to walk away. That I should help him as Theron Devonshire had helped me. So I did.

What a way to start the new year. Right now, this situation, wasn't something Casper ever expected to be in. The treacherous thought never even crossed his mind because he had been so prepared, so ready, so in sync with what he did best, that the possibility of it all blowing up, was unthinkable. Unimaginable. Just look at where all that preparation got him.
He had never been more ready to die in his life. He looked it too.
Casper's body was strewn upon the concrete floor of the alley way between two dying buildings. Rats scurried through the trash that surrounded the torn boxes of cardboard propped up against the walls. It must have been freezing. Winter nights ranged from 20 to 10 degrees, and to prove such a point, the first traces of snowfall pattered down from the black sky and littered the pavement. He didn't feel it. He should have been freezing, he wasn't wearing all that much and what he was wearing, was torn.
Casper rolled his body up into his stomach. He didn't want to believe it, and for a little while, denial had been good to him.
He had dug himself out of central park maybe thirty minutes ago. He had coughed, and wheezed, and gasped and after a realization, had screamed. Somehow, through the sheer instinct to survive, he had gotten himself back into the industrialized part of Manhattan, and had dropped himself in this very spot. No one was near, it was too cold.
Casper whimpered as he took a dirt covered hand to his stomach. He knew what he wanted, wanted desperately at that. His whole body screaming at him to get up and find a meal...but he knew, he knew his daily consumption pattern of macaroni and cheese wasn't what he was after tonight. He wouldn't even humor himself by thinking about drinking.
His throat hurt. His arms ached. His legs throbbed and worst of all his stomach felt like it was going to open up and engulf the rest of his body.
He didn't want to believe it. He couldn't believe it. His resolved was strong...but that didn't change the fact that every time he moved his tongue, he felt two knife like canines protrude from his gums.
He knew it wasn't a dream. He remembered what had happened...but still there was a part of him that wished this was a hallucination.

Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are, Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you'll try
It takes you to another place, imagine everything you can. All the colors start to blend, The system overloads again.

Luna had been following the young vampire since she saw him climb out of the earth. But, she had lost him. "Damn he's fast." she muttered to herself and shook her head, blond locks falling into her face. She brushed them aside impatiently and growled in irritation. How could she have lost the newborn?! She paced around, up and down the streets her heel's clicked against the pavement in a steady rhythm. Suddenly, her head snapped up and she looked around, she had smelled something... Or at least, she was pretty sure that she did... She inhaled deeply, drawing in the scent she had hoped to find and then yawning as a couple walked by. Sniffing the air wasn't exactly an everyday thing you know. The yawn gave her the excuse for the deep breath anyways.
But, she was right, she had smelled him!! Luna began walking casually in the direction of which she had smelled the odor, sniffing every now and again. Her flannel coat hung loesly around her frame, as it was a bit to large for her, making the petite vampiress look even smaller as she rounded the corner of the ally. Her casual composure dropped and she looked worriedly at the newborn vampire before approaching cautiously and crouching down next to him. "Are you ok?" she asked, her voice showing her concern, although she could see quiet clearly he was not ok. He needed to feed very badly. She wondered why he hadn't already.

It was funny, his whole body ached, and he could barely concentrate on anything, but as soon as he sensed...no smelt, another vampire approaching, he was alert. Old habits die hard as they say. Casper, surprisingly, didn't get up. He didn't even move. It was then he realized, he didn't care. He understood where Edward Cullen, that fanciful, cracked out version of a vampire, was coming from. This was depressing, so very depressing. He didn't want this existence, at all, and so far, he couldn't think of how to get rid of it. Casper didn't know if vampires could commit suicide, but he wasn't suicidal on principle. What he wasn't particularly adverse to, however, was being the victim of homicide...he actually sort of welcomed that.
He wasn't looking, so he couldn't see her, but Casper could feel the vampire crouch next to him.
Was he okay? No, he was the very opposite! But this vampiress could very well be his solution. "If you're going to kill me, hurry up."

Luna frowned and looked at him. He was in very bad condition indeed. Maybe she could bring him food? Although she really wasn't comfortable with that, being out in the open as they were... However, she tilted her head to the side and looked at him when he told her to just kill him.
She shook her head and moved closer, trying to look him over and see if he was alright.
Which wasn't very easy with the position he was sitting in. "I'm not going to kill you, I want to help." she said and held her hand out for him to take, hopeing that he would let her help him. Also hoping that maybe he would shift a bit and she could get a better look at him. It was always easier to see a face.

Casper was a relatively nice guy, but not when he was freaked out, hungry, and stressed beyond belief. Everything just put him on edge.
Casper snapped up his blue eyes glowing red as soon as the darkness washed over them. "If you're not going to kill me then you're not helping!" Without thinking about, or realizing it for that matter, his lips was pulled up and his fangs were barred for the whole world to see. His aggression, however, didn't last for long. Casper slumped against the wall. He was so thirsty it was making him feel like he was having an out of body experience. His head lolled to the side and all of the muscles in his face went slack. Casper's eyes, however, red and burning, were focused. The vampire in front of him was...small. And blonde, and pretty. The phrase 'a pretty little thing' had never described a person...well, a dead person, better. It was so funny, a day ago he would have killed this chick in a second, now....he didn't have the angry or the drive. He felt empty, and hungry...and depressed, really really depressed.
Casper blinked as the snow collected in his eyelashes. Why would this vampire want to help him anyway?

Luna jerked her hand away quickly, not wanting the newborn do decide she herself was a snack as he barred his fangs at her. "Cut that out!" she said and looked at him almost as a child would when you hurt their feelings, reproachful and a little angry. She was trying to help him!!
His posture changed though, which made her even more worried as he slumped against the wall. She leaned forwards, knowing he needed help. But more importantly, he needed blood. With what he had just said, it told her at least one important piece of information. He didn't want to be a vampire, obviously. Which meant her trying to help him would be that much harder. But, Luna was a determined!
"I can get you something to eat?" she offered and smiled encouragingly at him. Nodding her head as if doing that would make him agree with her.
