Who: Kyou, Laz, and Pasha Where: At the outdoor cafe, Bistrouille Petit When: Lunch time, on a clear and sunny day
The muse was sincerely wishing she hadn't been so early. Pasha did her best to keep her expression calm, but she rolled the little espresso cup delicately between the tips of her fingers. As pleased as she was that Kyou had accepted her invitation, she'd had too much time to think about what to say. The words kept tumbling around in her mind, just like the butterflies did in her slender stomach.
Melisande dropped her eyes to the envelope resting on the table, pale lashes brushing her cheeks. She looked ready for business, with her feminine and fitted white suit jacket, and the carefully tied purple ribbon around her neck. Her hair was pinned back away from her face, curls piled into an artful up do. Pasha suddenly wished it was down, so she could have just a little something to hide behind.
That thought made her suddenly smile, and the nervousness began to ebb. That was her old way of thinking...she'd come a long way to where she sat today! The smile was still sweetly upon her lips when she spotted the hostess, pointing helpfully towards Meli's table.
He was here!! One hand slipped from her cup and disappeared under the table, where her fingers crossed silently.

The invitation came rather surprisingly, but it put a smile upon Kyou's face nonetheless. Just two days ago he received a beautifully written letter from Melisande requesting a meeting. The scientist had no idea what was the muse's intentions to their meeting, it was not mentioned in the letter at all. But nonetheless he would be delighted to oblige with a return phone call soon after the envelope was opened.
Dressed in a simple grey pinstriped vest with white shirt underneath, he followed casually behind the hostess as she led him to his designated table. Although the muse did not specifically mentioned that he should bring Lazarus along, he dragged the firey Sigel with him anyway as they navigate around the tables, with Lazarus following closely behind him.
The incubus does not know what to expect as he followed Kyou through the indoors cafe first as they headed towards the outdoors portion. To tell the truth he was kind of looking forward to the meeting somehow. Although their last meeting was very long ago, he still remember fondly of it. Just for a moment, he wondered how was Melisande doing. His thoughts were interrupted as they arrived at their table. Kyou moved away from his front view as he took a seat opposite of Melisande, and that was when Lazarus saw the muse again, after more than a year not meeting her.
She was still as beautiful as he last remembered.
Smiling warmly, he flushed a little with merely the muse's presence as he said a shy "Hello." Taking a seat in between the other two.
Kyou on the other hand, was rather surprised to see Melisande in such an up-do, wondering why was the muse dressed so formally. "Hello Melisande." He greeted warmly as he took a seat. "How are you doing?" The scientist noted the drained espresso in Melisande's cup, which means she had been here for a while. He also noticed the envelope on the table. The hostess left two menus for him and Lazarus before she left. Idly he flipped through it to see what he should have for lunch today.

Melisande lit up, lifting from her seat just a bit. It was so good to see familiar faces that she suddenly felt faint. Her heart was fluttering in her chest, but that might have been the caffeine from the espresso, she realized. Sinking back with a smile as they were seated, the muse took a moment to look them both over. Her bright gaze was still as sweet, but not nearly as shy, as it once had been.
"Dr. Kyou, it's so good to see you! And Lazarus..." Her smile dimpled, and one of the little blossoms at her temple rustled open. "...thank you for coming. I wasn't sure if you would! I'm glad you're here."
The Sigel took a moment to let them get settled, still elated that they'd accepted her invitation. They both looked so wonderful...but seeing Laz gave her a twinge of loneliness over Zavier. It had been so long since she'd seen him! She tried her best to keep her smile bright as she answered Kyou's question.
"I've been very well, thank you. Better than well, actually! I have a job across town, and...a wonderful new home." Pasha chose her words carefully, but kept her tone light. Her dulcet voice sounded almost carefree! Leaning forward, she settled her one hand lightly on Kyou's forearm, her blue eyes curious under snowy lashes. "How has everything been for you? For you both?"

Taking a moment, Kyou placed his orders for a lunch set with desserts while Lazarus just ordered a drink like Melisande. The hostess nodded with a smile as she repeated the orders, then when everything is confirmed she whisked around and headed in to prepare them.
"You have a job? That is good news! Where and what you are working as?" Kyou's smile brighten as Pasha spoke of a job, this might explain the formal, more matured outfit and her overall more confident demeanor. He always felt oddly proud when he heard of the Raevans having their own career in the real world. This would mean that they do not have any problems mixing in with the general society. Turning his eye towards Lazarus, he couldn't help but compare him to Pasha. The firey Sigel is the oldest among all of them and still he stays at home. As a parental figure, he wished that Lazarus would one day have his own career as well outside of the Lab. Perhaps a private conversation with him would be needed later.
At the mention of a new home however, surprised Kyou. "Oh I didn't know you and Aki moved." He exclaimed, indeed he was not informed at all, there weren't a return address on the invitation either. Perhaps he should get the new address from Pasha and update his files. "Where did you moved to?"
"And don't worry about us, we're doing fine." The gentle gesture of her hand on his forearm made him feel comfortable, so he chose not to mention any of the happenings that retained to the virus outbreak. Pasha was not directly involved anyway, in which he was very glad for. "We hired a new staff recently since Tsu's departure from the Lab, I had promoted Alex to take over his role."
Lazarus couldn't intrude their conversation as he admired the cafe's surroundings. Of course he caught that silent, almost glare-like look from Kyou, but he tried not to let it bother him too much as he stare at a bush of pink azaleas nearby, listening idly to the conversation going on.

Pasha's lips parted silently as Kyou mentioned Tsu's departure from the lab, and she leaned back. She hadn't known about that. Instead of asking for details, she closed her mouth and dropped her eyes to the menu for a moment, trying to stay focused. She was here for a reason!
"I'm working as a hostess in a new restaurant, here in town. It's called the Plaza Cafe!" When she lifted her eyes again, they were bright with excitement. Her hand absently reached for the envelope, however. "And on Fridays and Saturdays, I sing there, in the evenings. Please come as my guests, anytime you'd like!" Her cheeks were a bit pink at making such a bold offer, but she was sure Alain would do everything in his power to get them a table, even if they didn't come with reservations.
Explaining her job had been the easy part, however. It was the next question that was delicate. Melisande's wings parted a bit as she steadied herself, her expression much calmer than she felt on the inside. She wished to inspire confidence in Kyou, rather than worry him, so the muse silently focused will and hoped. Meli was proud that her voice was so steady when she spoke again.
"And...Aki and I have not moved. Aki is still at the Villa. I'm...on my own, now. I have been for a while. That's part of the reason I've asked you here!" Her smile was tiny and tremulous, but it was there. The envelope crinkled slightly under her delicate fingers. "It's been so many years, and so much has changed. I...I would like to be recognized...by the lab...as..."
Her heart was hammering, but it was too late to back down. This was something she wanted, and wanted passionately...so the muse channeled her nerves into excitement as best she could. Her voice rose, strong and sweet with divine inspiration. "To be recognized as an adult!! I would like to keep Aki on as my emergency contact, if you need one, but...I would like all the rights and responsibilities of guardianship to belong to no one but myself." That had always been Aki's term for herself, guardian. Never mother. Melisande knew a mother was something that could never be replaced, but a guardian was something else entirely.
She pushed the envelope slowly across the table, towards Kyou. "Copies of my pay stubs, the utilities I pay, my new address, and character references. In case you need them." The last bit was embarrassing, but it had been Viola's idea. She'd lived with the girl for weeks, so it couldn't hurt to have her support so clearly on paper! Finally silent, Melisande searched Kyou's face, her heart still fluttering like a bird as she waited to see how he would react. Her greatest fear was being rejected, and forcibly sent back to Aki...but her hopes outweighed her worries by a good sight. The muse clung to those hopes, and kept her back straight.
This was her chance to finally start a life of her own...there was no giving up now!!

Kyou's eyes grew wide with pleasant surprise as Melisande mentioned about singing in a new restaurant. Plaza Cafe eh? It sounded familiar, he had probably seen a flyer from the newspaper deliveries or on a community notice board somewhere before. To tell the truth, he wasn't surprise that she found a singing job, she had been doing this in her past life as well. A sliver of worry slipped into his heart as he remembered the meeting he had with Aki so many years ago, when she handed him the soul bottle and told him what happened.
His attention however, was snapped back to Melisande as she seemed like she had something important to tell him. And as she spoke, her voice strong, confident and sweet, Kyou couldn't help but find himself completely focused on her. Infected with her passion, he felt his heart flutter with her excitement as well. Golden eyes trailing down to the envelope on the table, he did not spoke as he took it slowly and opened it. There weren't a lot of paperwork inside, but there were enough, as Kyou looked through the documents.
For a long moment he just considered the prospect, letting the Sigel be independent and able to support herself. For the longest time, he had considered Sigels as teenagers in a human equivalent, slowy stepping into adulthood as they grow. He couldn't deny that even for humans, there were people that could matured in their teenage years, supporting themselves without the parents' help. Some were even forced to do so under certain circumstances. So... why not a Raevan too?
Melisande had been one of the sweetest Raevans that he know, calm and matured. To him, she had always been a delicate flower, always seemed so fragile and sweet. And now, she had grown up into a beautiful rose, strong, passionate and... not so fragile anymore. A little part of him felt a little sad, realizing that he did not knew Melisande at all. But for the most part he felt... proud, proud that she has so much confidence now, proud that she had matured, proud that she had... grown up!
Putting the paperwork carefully back into the envelope, he settled it down onto the table again, folding his hands over it. The corner of his mouth curled up in a soft smile as he looked at Melisande, he chose his next words carefully. "If you really wanted this, I don't see why not." His smile brighten as he saw the glimmer of joy in her blue eyes. "But just remember that if you needed any help, the Lab will always be there for you. And Aki too." He was sure that the guar- no, ex-guardian wouldn't mind helping when Melisande is in need. All of the Raevans are like his own children in some way, and whatever they decide to do, he will fully support them.
"And I would love to see you sing as well, you mentioned you sing on Friday and Saturday evenings? I'll come next Friday then, how about that?" He was ashamed to admit it, but he don't recall hearing the muse's singing before. Maybe this could be a chance for him to know her better.
Like Kyou, Lazarus couldn't draw his eyes away from Melisande as she spoke. Her passion was so strong he could feel it from her words. Suddenly he found himself very impressed with Melisande, she always seemed so delicate, perhaps he shouldn't had judged a book by it's cover. "I... would like to see you sing as well." He said a little meekly, a blush crept onto his face.

Lips parting, blue eyes wide in anticipation, Melisande watched as Kyou reached slowly for the envelope. Everything about the doctor was as purposeful and elegant as she remembered...he betrayed little of what he was thinking with his carefully composed expression, his golden gaze lowered to her papers. Pasha was much easier to read. The Sigel's wings continued to open hopefully as she waited in silence, practically lifting out of her seat in excitement.
As Kyou silently folded his hands once more over the documents, Melisande could no longer bear it. She reached for Laz's hand blindly, looking for a squeeze of support. Out of all the Raevans, she'd known Lazarus the longest. Even if they'd never spent much time together, she was very glad the other Sigel was here!
Pasha's breath caught as the doctor finally spoke, her little hand tightening in Laz's if the Raevan allowed it. Joy filled her eyes as she gave his sincere pronouncement, and her smile lit brilliantly. Despite all of her apparently maturity, Melisande didn't even wait for the doctor to finish talking about Friday before she darted gracefully across the table for a hug.
With a tiny, happy noise, the Muse wrapped her arms gently high on Kyou's shoulders. She didn't squeeze, but the hug was heartfelt, even if it was brief. For the first time as a Sigel, Melisande's old, genuine smile truly brightened her face. "Thank you!" She beamed at Kyou as she drew back, suddenly a little shy about the hug. "Thank you!" Sounding a bit breathless as she repeated herself, Pasha tilted her head sweetly towards Lazarus, still radiant with happiness.
"And I would really like it if you came. Thank you, as well!" She said softly to the handsome Sigel. He looked much less fierce than he usually did...the way he spoke so gently, and almost seemed to be blushing, put the Muse at ease. Every time they met, she liked him a little more! Taking a risk, Melisande lifted her hands towards Laz's shoulders, offering him a hug, but not quite brave enough to just take it.

The gripping hand came as a bit of a surprise, Melisande's cooling fingers wrapped around his warm hands. It was true, her nervousness was more apparent compared with Kyou's calculative thoughts in this situation. Timidly he patted her hand reassuringly, resting his own over her's as he waited slightly nervously for Kyou's answer as well. When Kyou spoke, the gripping tighten as the good news was pronounced, then seconds later it slipped out of both his hands as Pasha practically flew across the table. Lazarus could only stare with wide crimson eyes.
He probably half expected the hug, but he did not expect that Melisande would be so sudden about it. Apparently what he said made the muse extremely ecstatic. It was a very nice gesture, the hug. Kyou couldn't help but beamed, and soon after followed by a hearty chuckle as he hug back gently, patting the muse's back softly. "The pleasure is all mine." And he wasn't just referred to the hug as well, to see the muse so happy like this, he knew he had made the right decision. May she find happiness with her new life.
Lazarus was surprised when after letting Kyou go, Melisande turned towards him instead, her smile made his heart skip a little beat. He was even more surprised when she opened her arms, as if wanting to hug him as well, but unsure if she should. If it was the old him, the one who despised Pasha and hated being touched, he would probably turn the offer down. But something changed in him, he wasn't sure when, but his little phobia of being touched doesn't have such a strong presence anymore. Being one that was not accustom to hugs, he did hesitated for a moment, wondering if he would like it. But after a moment, gently lifting his arms, he leaned forwards and gave Pasha a polite hug, wrapping his arms around her abdomen and making sure he did not touch the wrong spots. And he decided that the gentle embrace felt... nice, he like it.
