If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
Sooo, apparently, there's a third Alice In Wonderland book....not by Carroll, though.
Alice Through the Needle's Eye: A Third Adventure for Lewis Carroll's Alice by Gilbert Adiar, 1984
Soo....I would really like to find it. >.> It's supposed to pay tribute to Carroll's Alice and is supposed to be written in a surrealistic way kind of like it. Unfortunately, though, I've come to find out that it's out of print. T.T And other than the aforementioned, I don't know very much about it. It may not be necessarily by Carroll, but I figure it's worth a shot to read and at least give it enough of a chance to find out if it's worth it or not. Anyone heard of it, read it, or seen it anywhere and willing to help me find out more about it? biggrin
Also that I want to find, get, and read, there's - Alice's Journey Beyond the Moon by RJ Carter, 2004
Both sound interesting and out of all the reviews I've read for them, every one has said that they're worthy successors and followers to Carroll's style, without trying to make themselves out to be better or even as much of a genius as he was. Nothing can compare to Carroll's immortals, but I think these might be worth a shot and I wanna try 'em. Help, pretty please? ^.^
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I have Through the Needle's Eye! heart I bought it at a used bookstore so I'm not sure where to get it, unless you'd like to obsessively check Amazon, eBay, half.com..
I'll be honest, I haven't read it. I started it, my bookmark (amusingly, an Alice in Wonderland postcard) is on page 10. xp PERHAPS I SHOULD READ IT. But it's full of new illustrations by Jenny Thorne, done in the style of John Tenniel's illustrations. I must admit, her mimicry of his style is very good.
I've just re-read the first few pages and so far, it's very cute and actually very convincing. Here's the the first two paragraphs;
Even if Alice didn't know for certain how long she had been trying to thread the needle, she couldn't help but notice that the sand in the hour-glass which stood on the chimney-piece was slipping away at an alarming rate. "If I don't succeed very soon," she thought "poor Dinah's jacket wo'n't be ready till next winter but one!"
Dinah was the cat, now quite old and sleepy. As her mistress liked to boast to whoever would listen to her, she had had as many as, oh, umpteen kittens, perhaps even twice that mysterious number. (For Alice, no matter how slowly and carefully she counted, somehow never managed to find a place for umpteen, "though I can certainly count up to twenty, and umpteen must come before that.")
I quite like the part about umpteen. whee

~Advice from a Caterpillar~ Okay I checked eBay for you.
There are two listings for both of those books at the time I checked.
Alice Through the Needles Eye - One located in England, the other in Australia.
Alice's Journey Beyond the Moon - Both located in England.
I also checked both the American and English Amazon websites, both have the books for sale.

I think Half.com is your best bet, there are quite a lot of copies of Through the Needle's Eye for very good prices, though there are only 3 copies of Alice's Journey Beyond the Moon, and only one of them is a reasonable price. xp
