2) The sacred treasure of Estarcia- the Fire Emblem. An emblem of self-sacrifice and true faith, Estarcian priestesses charged with the task of personally protecting the Emblem are in themselves the perfect means of protection. After all, to slay a priestess is to bring upon one's self the wrath of the gods, the fury of the public masses, political retaliation, and the weight of a guilty conscience, for those who have such a thing.

The Fire Emblem, however, is no mere trinket that cannot protect itself. Allegedly imbued with the bones of the gods that had been defeated by Loki in times past, this sterling silver dragon wrapped around the emerald-like gem in its center is a light trinket that is literally implanted into the side of a willing Estarcian priestess. Its claws, digging into the priestess's skin from the inside out, hold the woman's gonadal artery and vein within their grasp, preventing a forceful removal. The spines on the back of the dragon remind the willing host of the pain that the gods had to endure for the sake of the people, while the piercing ruby gaze warns all potential defilers that something rather inexplicable is watching their every action.
This Emblem is held in place by the pulse and holy magic of its host, and can only be safely removed by the host itself, or the priestess who can actually use the Fire Emblem. If removed forcefully, the claws will not release; to pull it out is to kill the woman and to assure that the Fire Emblem will curse the new owner. If handled by flesh or animal hide upon an incorrect removal, the Fire Emblem will writhe and increase in temperature, and will not stop moving and burning all it touches until it is 'cured' by the magic of the chosen Estarcian priestess who wields its magic. If for some reason the pulse of the host fades before the Fire Emblem is removed, the curse will likewise go into effect, and will not stop unless treated by she who knows the Emblem.
Because only one woman in a generation is allowed (and thus, trained) to use the Fire Emblem in the way it was intended, the host is always another of the cloth. In this way, the sacred relic also has another measure of protection; for in order to gain it an use it, one needs not only the Fire Emblem itself, but also the priestess capable of using it. To hide the Fire Emblem further, all women of the Estarcian cloth wear slightly looser robes, to hide the already hard-to-notice shape.
To find the Fire Emblem, one needs to know what it looks like, where it should be, and how to remove it. Thus is it protected, all while tormenting its host.
