I have a cooking certificate which I recieved in college. My teachers are all EXTREMELY knowledgable about where our food comes from. Needless to say, they've down their research and have been in the industry for years. They know about all the icky things like Formaldhyde.
Small rant. Does Formaldhyde even SOUND like a food? No. But it's frequently under "ingredients" in packaged foods. End rant.
Well, about three times now while on break one of the Chefs will offhandedly say that "We are corn." Needless to say he gets lots of strange looks. But then he explains why. And it makes you think twice before eating that hamburger. No really.
All of the information he uses for this conversation has come from a short documentary called Food Inc. It's very short, very interesting and worth watching.
